Where are the drawer slides?? Don't see them mounted on the sides of the drawer. Are they BB?? Is this your home box?

that was originally a Blue print cabinet which i have converted into my tool box.
The drawers have a flared edge and it rolls on 2 rollers each side.

Pretty strong.

This is my "mothership" toolbox as i have another Kennedy "roll-around" tool box and a Hazet Assistent tool cart.

But, it still rolls pretty good, i moved it a few month ago fully loaded and i was able to push it around fully loaded without breaking my back (it's all about quality heavy duty castors)

me and this 'ol boy go back aways, I started as a dealer tech in 1982, thats when i bought this, i vowed to myself i would never have a box so big that i couldnt move with my own pickup truck, it has been across this country with me and i still work today with it..

Whats with the pallet under your main box? Is it to help reach the top box or easy moving?

I wanted an 84 epiq with top and locker. Now I want even more. I love the green mica. Makes my 68 look tiny. Did you get custom drawers? In the lower right corner mine has one big drawer.

Same way you make a new car payment. You just do it. Mostly just wait for the right time, right box, right price. I paid less for my epiq than some guys at work paid for their classic 78's

Right. People spend money -- 10's of thousands at a time - on all manner of "consumer goods" or "toys" that are excessive from the point view of other people, if you want to look at it that way.
And besides, how do you know how much is put on credit?

I'll freely admit my box / my tools are a bit of a hobby for me. I enjoy it, and it happens to help me in my work.

I know some guys that are in debt up to their eyeballs, but I set goals for myself and work hard to accomplish them one step at a time. I always tell myself that Rome wasn't built in a day. I actually went a few months at the end of last year not owing a single tool guy a dime and thanks to the long delivery time of my lockers, I got a good chunk of the payment knocked out before my stuff even arrived. Took the edge off lol. I don't see it as being any different then buying a boat, RV, 4 wheelers, etc. At least we can use our frivolous toys to make money

No offense taken, and none meant on my part either - if anything, I guess I try to be a voice or reason around here and just remind some who do get worked up about these "overpriced" boxes that it's mostly a free world when it comes to buying personal stuff - cars, tools, toys - whatever. People are free to buy what they like.

Thanks on the color. Even the delivery guys where commenting that they don't often see the green mica. I asked how much tool box delivery they do to bring that up and the guy said "Look in the trailer - it's all we do all week long" (53' moving van was still half full of more huge boxes in there).

And as for the cost / debt issue -- just hold out for the right deal. You'll know it when it happens. You know what you can afford.....This new Epiq is financially easy on my wallet compared to the first KRL I bought 15 or so years ago when I made a heck of a lot less.

No! Assembly of one empty was plenty! I was commenting to my wife that I owe my helper lunch tomorrow, since he had his keys in his hand ready to go home when I said "give me a hand setting the hutch in place"....hour and half later the whole thing was finished / bolted together and ready to transfer tools in the morning...and we had all missed dinner.

wow there are some REALLY nice boxes in this thread. I don't wrench anymore for a living as I am now stuck in an office as management but I still have a huge addiction to tools and boxes!! I don't know if I will ever get an Epic for my home gargae but I may eventually get a hutch and locker....

Wow, just realized there are no pics of the inside of Epiq lockers posted. ***** about the paint on yours. I am sure HMD will post some as well. You can put the drawers in any location you want.

I tell ya how I afforded it. Buy a used one that somebody needs to get rid of. That's where the deal is. Never thought I would be flipping toolboxes, but I buy and sell them all the time, mostly sell to people I know, let them make a few payments, that is how you get them sold. Then have cash in hand to buy that smoking deal that comes along. After selling three boxes, I got a yellow 761 like new condition and I got fifty bucks in it : )

Gotta ask you guys with the big boxes. Do you carry insurance on your boxes?? Gotta be close to $30K-$50K investment there. Does the shop owner carry insurance to cover the tech's equipment?

Also, I here high end dealerships provide tools and a box. Mercedes, Lexus, etc. Is it good stuff?

^ Alot of higher end dealerships will provide toolboxes because they want their shop to look uniform and not have rainbow colored toolboxes. Still have to use your own tools though.

I worked at a Lincoln dealership in the washbay when I was 16. Every tech had Snap on boxes, chests,lockers,and carts. All the same color and model> every bay looked the same, because it was. No one seemed to mind

every dealership i've worked for has covered replacement cost of tools & boxes.

my home stuff is covered by some additional insurance to my homeowners policy.

all together, i'd be looking at around $100K to replace everything.
boxes, hand tools, power tools, machinists tools, and "shop" equipment...
