9 piece set (reviews all over the place, one person claims they're made in Brazil and Mexico, another customer says mostly made in USA) worth the $84 price tag? Probably more than I would need, but better then a 3 pc set
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001T4K1O6/?tag=atomicindus08-20

They also have a 5 pc set for $43 hmmm...

They are very nice quality, I think i bought mine at HD for around 20.00 and some change. They came in a nice bag as well

After careful deliberation, I decided to leave my current place of employment.

So my tool dealer stopped by one night and helped me move all my stuff home. It’s amazing how nosey your neighbors get when you have this big truck parked in your driveway for a few hours.

And here is how my tool boxes sit for now... blocking all my other boxes and tools until I find new employment. :D

Now time to reorganize it a bit and get some drawer pictures to post.

i hear ya, i left my last job 15 years ago, and moved 1200 miles.
17ft uhual along both sides tools and toolboxes, mig welder, and small compressor
harley in the middle, bag of hockey gear, 2 duffle bags of clothes and my computer.
crammed all the tools, toolboxes, and harley into my mom's garage for about 6 weeks before i found a job. wasnt easy trying to cram a kr550/555b into the back of a bronco in the dead of winter.:eyecrazy:
i think it took nearly a week to get what tools i needed to the shop.

i'd really, really hate to move everything again, more tool boxes, more tools, and more equipment.

harley in the middle

Yep... the Harley is under the blanket on the left of the picture. I actually got lucky as my Matco dealer is moving out West and has given up his route and no longer in the are however he made a special trip (45min drive each way) to help me out. It is hard leaving a job without another one lined up, but sometimes it just gets to the point you have to.

Nice! About what year is that?

Are they covering the slides under warranty? I called and ordered $100 worth of stuff and they wouldn't warranty one slide because i wasn't original owner. Snap on guy, no problem.

Just don't tell them that. how are they ever going to figure out if I purchased it new or not. my dealer would deny it only because a little extra work is not worth it to him.

She asked if i was original owner, told her the truth because i didnt know how in depth she would get. Did they ask and you just said yes? Have to remember that. My snap on guy seems pretty nice, im not on a route(home use) so i just meet him. I asked if any of the 1/4" ratchets are on sale, knowing they were online. He said ill make you a deal on one and he did. For not being a weekly high dollar customer i was impressed he did that.

yep, contacted snap on already. it needs some new ball bearing slides.

I did one to try it out on my KR series which came with no keys. I found it went together fairly easy so now I have a set of 6 keyed alike for work and home.

And my dealer (franchisee LOL) covered the lid lock bracket even though he know I bought that KR box used.

I just ordered a **** ton of detents for my KR660 today from snap on, I lied and said i was the original owner. I feel I've bought enough from them that I think they can swing $0.05 rubber detents for a good costumer.

Here is a newer one I picked up. It's the hammerhead tool chest ones that Costco used to sell. It's a little beat, the bottom drawer is sticky, but she works. Now I know some of you guys don't like stickers om tool boxes, but it's my style. I feel tool boxes are the perfect sticker canvas.

Paid 600 for the box, and it was over half full with tools still. I think it was a good deal. Now with multiple boxes, I'm trying to figure out how I want everything organized. Good problem to have!

not a fan of stickers, but it's yours so do as you please! i do love the hammerhead boxes though... the slides are made by "King Slides" and you can contact them if you need to repair them. I called to get new rubber stoppers and they sent me a pack of 50 for free.

nice thing about stainless is that you can buff it with a metal polish and it'll look great again. if need be, maybe even wet sand it a little bit before you buff it.

Complied all my metric tools/commonly used tools into a "to go" box that I keep on my 26" roller (roller holds air tools, SAE tools, hammers, pullers, etc). Togo box has 90% of the tools I need to fix 90's Honduhs and only weighs 65lbs. Box takes the weight, but the detends/locking mechanism simply ***** (most Husky boxes are like that).

Where did you get that monster breaker bar?

It's made by Clarke I acquired it by accident haha, I was on a job and snapped my bar, I went to the local tool shop and they only sold Clarke but to be honest for a cheap bar it's been great, it's taken some right stick and it's still going strong

Great information. Thank you! The odd thing is, if I were to buy a tool box, I would prefer one without stickers. But once I get a hold of it, it's sticker time! Ha ha ha.

My new to me Craftsman 72" wide 30" deep roller:

In comparison with my KRA it replaces:

What the messy garage looks like now:

All I have to say is that this thing is massive! I was looking at buying this box under a different brand (Cman doesn't sell it anymore, but other brands still do). I had it all planned out what was to go in what drawer, but being 30" deep my plans were off. I'm going to have extra drawers with nothing to put in them. I'll have to keep buying tools I guess!

@super sport Wow that is a very nice box. I like the drawer layout, if you dont mind me asking how much did that cost? Do you like the quality more than the KRA? Thanks

Never seen one of those craftsman giant boxes like that, looks neat. Not a fan of the paint or powdercoat or whatever looks rather dull or something but the size and layout is quite nice

It set me back $1200. New you can buy one from Viper or Extreme Tools for $2500-3000. I was planning on buying a black Viper one until this popped up local. Talk about a chance in hell! Quality-wise, I was never very impressed with the KRA. This one is an extremely solid box, much more so than the KRA. This one has some pretty stiff detents however, even after the previous owner used it for years in a shop. I also can't rearrange the drawers at all, which is another complaint I have. Other than those and the faded paint, I'm very satisfied especially given the price.

Yeah, the color is a bit faded. It's a brighter red inside the drawers. I'm guessing Craftsman only offered it for a short period of time. I can't find any evidence Craftsman ever actually branded it, but I haven't found any other brand that offered it in red with a stainless top.

It doesn't seem like a craftsman unless its pretty new, last year or two. when waterloo was the toolbox manufacturer (not the current manufacturer international) a 30" deep craftsman would be a professional series, with griplatch drawer latches not detents. Looks like a lot of tool box for the money though, good deal.

It's definitely older than that with the paint fade and everything. The guy said he bought it out of the Cman catalog ~6 years ago. I'm not completely convinced it's a Craftsman either, but I can't find it listed just like this under any other brand. The Craftsman badge looks like it belongs where it is as well. Even if it isn't a real Craftsman I don't care, I know it's a solid box and I know I can get some replacement parts through other sources if need be.
