Mind sharing what that set you back and some details on that box? I responded to the other thread you had looking for information on it. Doesn't seem like a popular / mass produced box, especially in the US.

WOW man that is a thing of beauty. I have to ask, do you need sunglasses to look at it though? :lol_hitti

Your "cart" is nicer than my entire box

electrics drawer

I was impressed with your setup until I saw the Silverline puller. Be warned it is not worth a spit and will make you angry.

The legs bend, the H frame bends and even the bearing separator is made out of playdough.

Although you can hammer everything straight again with a hammer.

If you use pullers a lot then look out for some Sykes Pickavant stuff. There is no comparison.

Just wondering....I see nothing related to the comb binder. Not many of those just sitting around garages.

Haha, I was waiting for somebody to ask about that. I was out and about at sales that morning and happened to grab that for $2. It just hadn't made it off the top of the box and inside yet (it actually is still out there on the box!).

I ran across a RemLine at a sale once, except it wasn't actually for sale. I was amazed at the quality of it and how smooth the slides operated; I was really bummed it wasn't for sale. I've been on the lookout for one since. I believe they made boxes for other brands, but I'm not sure which ones. There is some info floating around this site on them.

The only reason i got it was it was i had a £300 to spend with silverline otherwise i wouldn't have bought it and gone for a sykes one but to be fair i haven't even used it yet.

Hey everyone.
I'm new to the site, and still new to the trade. 19 years old and I have 6 more months until I finish my course, followed by 3 years of apprenticeship...etc. You all know the drill. ;)

Anyways! I found myself a very nice KR537/557 combo bought in 1986 (It's 26 years old from what the guy told me!!!) for $275. I think it's a steal, the man is recently retired and moving onto carpentry as a pastime, so I got a great deal on it! (No tools included) :(

It's a little rusted underneath, as well as it having a few rust spots on the sides, and the casters are a tad bit seized, but hey, everything can be fixed, right? At the end of my school year, my father and I are going to completely restore it to its former glory. The whole sha-bang, and a new metallic paint job to go with it.

I'll make it last another 26 years at least. ;)

I am going to assume it's for grouping the nuts and bolts from a job... ie; valve cover bolts in one cup, intake manifold in the other, accessory bolts, etc.

I am gonna have to go out and get myself one now, lol... Good idea:thumbup:

Yes I use them for organizing stuff (***** getting old and losing my mind :)) i build high end dampers so lots of little parts to keep track of.... Also works good for cleaning parts as well.... you can fill a couple of the cups with brake clean etc to soak for a while.

Im always looking to improve my work area and this forum rocks for that lots of great ideas

Man that's nice!

Thanks its a work in progress just like anything else.... Just added the LED lights in the hutch and the floor mats.... Mats made a huge difference on the feet at the end of the day. they are rubber gym mats like you would work out on at your local lifetime.

all those boxes, all those tools, all that organization, in a shoe-boxed size garage stuffed with a land rover. damn. no wonder you're jealous of our workspaces. to be fair, i do most of my work at home outside. and at work is at work so that dont count :p

awesome collection thow. id guess you're a bit more than a tinker-er...

I'm guessing he has no other choice. That Land Rover's parked in a shoebox that makes Jack Olsen's place look downright palatial.

Thanks for the great comments guys

TBH I have no option to keep it tidy I have about 20 inches spare each side of the Land Rover to walk :bounce:

I try my upmost to put everything back after each work session !

My compressor is outside under cover,, as there no where to put it inside and building it from scratch has been a little bit of a love hate relationship,

I would like to swap the boxes for matching ones (winds me up them all being differnet lol) with more storage but with a worktop, but I simply cannot get any more in :(, Ideally i'd like all the spanners(wrenches :lol_hitti ) in racks but not enough storage to lay them out so I make to best of what I have with my metric stuff easy to pick up .....need more real estate :bounce:

I've loved cars ever since I left school built several rally cars and off roaders, all self tought its gives me a challenge unlike sitting behind a deck at work punching buttons doing quotes

At least its inside.
