AG equipment electronics putting a modern car to shame?? I say you haven't been under the hood of a modern car. :wtf:

I'd say you haven't looked at a modern tractor. This is a little dated but makers like Deere made the switch to can bus in the mid 90's while it was the still much hyped future for cars to control the 25 plus moduals on tractors. Besides Google car how many cars link to satellite and drive them self?

also add the fact that AG & constuction electronics are all proprietary to the OEM
theres nothing like OBDII in the off road world....

diagnostic software is only available to the dealers, and at a hefty price as well..

15 years ago Ag was behind. 10 years ago they were even. Present day Ag is probably 10 years ahead. And I hear the John Deere is developing technology 10 years ahead of time.

Dieseldoctor, that is an impressive setup  One thing I have always wondered, does it get tiring to open and close those long drawers for small items that you use all the time like sockets? I see lots of newer boxes with full length drawers and just wonder if it gets tiring after a 6+hr day.

shurik06_83, slick setup, that must have some heft to it. I feel like you need to add a smaller 27" wide top / bottom setup on the right hand side and then it would be complete. :lol_hitti

i want your lower waterloo box. those are tough to find. it would go with mine quite nicely!

Thanks, if you were local I would most likely trade you for another bottom box. I really like it, seems really well built for a non truck brand friction slide 27" box. Plus it is about the most storage you will find in a single 27"w x 18" deep bottom. I know craftsman (by waterloo) made a box with the same drawer layout. It is not as well built IMHO, but it does have the same drawer config.

Do you have a pic of yours?

Within inches...

Within less than an inch. And control when they want to left up turn on and off implements as well as accelerate, change engine speed, lock their own differential or mfwd. How bout send text messages to the owner, dealer, or whoever it was told to when it leaves the boundary it's supposed to be in, sets a code or has any other type of malfunction on the bus that the operator is not even aware of.. All while meeting tier 4 EPA emissions. People bash John deeres egr, doc and dpf. But urea will only get other manufactures so far in the emissions battle. While John Deere has and will have proven reliability. I'm not brand loyal. I plan on leaving my dealer in the next year and a half. Mostly because of a geographical move, but in a search for jobs I will not be loyal to green. I do love Ag as diesel though. Automotive is a field I refuse to join. Did a little in high school and that was plenty.

Found this site while doing searches of different boxes I was looking at. Finally found a box for my new house. Now I gotta fillerup.

null_zps483b96b7.jpg
You ****, I love that box.

Yup, it is quite shallow, but for a "home" box, that will rarely move.....I can live with it. (Read "rarely" as "never"..... :lol_hitti )
Speaking of 'shallow', there are a lot of shallow people on this site who are obsessed with deep boxes.:p

I like how filled/organized drawers look on 18" boxes versus the deeper boxes. Plus as stated in a limited space they just make sense. :dunno:

this is after a newer waterloo 2 drawer was put up top:
customcasterrackforthem.jpg

this was after a bit of touch up paint and re-making the lock bars. the top box is a stack on, but its still pretty nice for what it is.

betterpicofthenewstack.jpg

then there's the HF cart i use for work, modified of course:

and my craftsman home box that was a gift for fathers day 2 years ago from my father in law (with my son and nephew):

we live in a place where 'garages' are a rarity, so the craftsman box lives outside....

Nice boxes man , I can't believe I am saying this, but I like the way you put that HF cart and side cab together. Looks like it would be really useful.

I read this then looked up at your location... Lucky you. Over here in SW ohio, those boxes would be rust buckets in less than a months time thanks to our nasty humidity. Your "outdoor boxes" look better than most of the "stored inside" boxes over here.

Nice setup for a home shop. Older Craftsman roll cab, with Snap On KRA55a off ebay on top. Contents are mostly Snap On and Craftsman collected since the 1980's. Organized by drive size. I don't use too many 1/2" or SAE since most work is on motorcycles. (Almost everything on a car these days requires a lift).

Here is my box. I upgraded from a box that was only a 1/4 of that size so some of the drawers are actually empty. But the deal was too good to pass up and I figured the box is an investment in my futur.

Cant go wrong with an Epiq! Get a powertop. That's the best part of my box.

Since this is the thread that got me reading through the site I figured it would only be right that I shared mine, although it is far from even comparable to most of what I've seen on here lol

This was a gift from my fiancee a few years ago. First actual tool box I've ever owned, and will add more once I find a house with a bigger garage

A'ight, got me new box all shiney, and somewhat loaded/organized.......but first, what I had:

Small Kennedy stack, topbox was Dad's, bottom a neighbor gave me, after it had sat outside so long, the brown wrinkle was virtually gone. Cleaned it up, and "practiced" shooting my paint for my car!

What I have now, SteelGlide 5623......I added leftover cabinet knobs to the top lid. When I get a round tuit, I'll whittle up a more "manly" handle......

Drawers:
Ratchets, C-man, Kobalt, and *gasp* HF....

Hammers....two on the left used to be my paternal grandfathers......I don't use them, but they have good Karma.....

Tons of drawers left to fill!!!!

Neatly organized. Must open drawers very slowly uh?

LOL, only the socket one! But yeah, I'm in no hurry when piddling out there, anyway. I've been pondering those pre-cut shadow inserts, or just DIY'ing them, since I'm sure my stuff wouldn't match up. For now, the thin rubber works well enough to keep things in place.

Another Ohio person. WELCOME to Garage Journal. There's getting to be quite a few from up your way.

What's the deal with the white drawer on your roller base?

Protective covering that came on it... ran out of finger nails to peal it...
I will get it done today now that somebody noticed
