I'll have to respectfully disagree, even USA craftsman gets bashed repeatedly on here. Im not complaining, to each his own.

So does SO and every other major brand for various reasons. You will always have some haters. but it is FAR from a dominant theme. The primary complaint about Craftsman is their current take it all overseas and act like its the same.

Nice collection there.

Mike.

Thanks Mike, many years of adding to it. Plus I have about the same tools in a trailer in Florida, except in a 3 tiered Craftsman. Absolutly no room to grow in the trailer.

Yep, I know what you mean about growing out of boxes. I have outgrown my Snap-On KRL and have resorted to storing some of my "not used too often" tools in overhead cabinets.

Here is my current setup. The SS Kobalt belongs to a friend(maybe he'll forget about it lol). The Craftsman is mine. Just bought the 5 drawer top and intermediate chest yesterday for 100 bucks at Sears scratch and dent. The 3 drawer is my old top. It will probably find a home on the opposite side of the garage on my shelving. The bench is new and designed to float 2 HF 44's on 1/2 plywood underneth whenever I come up with an extra $700.

Ive spent enough time in this thread lurking, so I thought it was about time I posted my roller and cart.

HF 44, Crafty Pro vise, delta grinder, and HK tunes on a butcher block top made from 2x4s.

Here is my setup - 3 @ 52" Craftsman Griplatch bottoms- one Griplatch top ( far end ) I used 2x4 as a top to make these fuction as my workbench as well. The closest one I roll around inside the garage- others typically remain where they are.

Nice setup   Can you share how you made your butcher block top? Specifically how you joined the edges? Glue? Biscuit? Other? That looks really nice on the cheap. Did you plane or sand the entire thing after glue up?

I like that Binford sticker, takes me back to the days of that show. :lol_hitti

thanks guys.

The 2x4 BB top was just 2x4s ripped into 1-1/2 strips, then glued up (no biscuits or dowels or anything, just Titebond blue #2 ) and clamped. Then it was planed by hand with a Jack plane till reasonably smooth. Hint: pick your 2x4s carefully, and pay attention to keeping it flat during glue up to make this easier in the end.

Very happy with the vise mounted on the box like this and use it all the time. The top has held up really well and the extra cutting board has been really useful to take abuse that WOULD have been dished out on the chest top. Same board also saves abuse on my wood bench as well.

The wrench racks are Ernst from Summit. and I cut a few of them down in size to match my quantities. The GW stubbies came with those racks. The wrenches are nice, but I'm not a big fan of the racks though.

I still need to fab up a slotted side shelf for the roller to hold my Wilde pry bars. Anyone done this yet for the HF 44?

Filled up a couple of my screwdriver drawers with some new Wiha's. First pic is phillips/slotted. Purple ones are all Microfinish. Most are heavy duty. A few of the red are just softfinish drivers that they didn't have in Microfinish. The red ones with red shafts are screwholding. They're badass. They physically clamp the screw.

This drawer is all Torx. Blue handles are Torx Plus, half of the red handles are screw holding torx and the other half are ball headed torx. The stubby has torx bits in the end of it. The L keys are in an ergostar holder.

Very nice Wiha drivers! I just bought my first set of Wiha insulated screwdrivers, and I think I'm hooked. I like the shape and feel of their grips more than any other driver I've used.

Here's my box I put together to keep at school in the metal fab shop. I'm a graduate student in art and I was tired of bringing stuff from home or looking around for tools there either broken or missing. Found this old C-man box and filled it up with extra stuff I had plus all my machine shop for using the mill and lathe. Built a cart for it and now I have everything I need within reach.

Now that's my kind of box. Care to show a drawer or two, maybe one with machine shop items?

I really like the frame you built to make a work station above each of the tool chests (picture in post #10302). Very simple, cheap to make, and effective.

My snap on driver has had this on his truck for a while and I finally broke. I needed it in a bad way tho lol. He did throw in a "free" bag of jerky. I need to weld up a plier rack and consolidate the pliers into a single drawer.

Hey everyone!
First post obviously, but here's my box, this pic is when I first got it, had it now for around half a year and getting a side cabinet next month.

You can see the wheels clearer in McLeodross' photo..the wheels are flashy. Look like they belong on an original fast and furious car!

I like the Clarke tool boxes. I have a red and black one at home with the friction slides. Very well built...in retrospect I wish I would have gone with the HD version. Of course I now have the 44" HF, but I digress.

I have never seen a tile floor in a shop before. Do you have issues breaking tiles when dropping heavy items? I would think they would be all kinds of broken tiles.

I've personally broken a few tiles throwing hammers down after use or brake discs etc. but most the guys here are very careful...plus there's a million work benches scattered all over the place so it's a rare occasion breaking tiles!
