Very nice, very, very nice at any age yet alone 19. While there are some very impressive garages and tool boxes on this site, there are a whole lot of people on here who would love to have what you do.

:+1: Took the words right out of my mouth.

Loscaldazar are you a professional mechanic by chance? How do you like that electric impact? How well does it work on lug nuts and brake/suspension bolts?

I really like that drawer layout. Haven't seen that one before. You've gotten off to a nice start.

Thank you! I have been trying to fill it with quality tools as I can afford it! Isn't that always the battle?

Wow, that is a very nice setup.  $60 for that box? Great deal. What are the dimensions of the box? It looks bigger than the standard 26" wide top box. I'm with Jake, that is a really different and IMHO nice drawer layout. Great mix of deep, shallow, wide, narrow drawers.

Thank you! I noticed the ad on the local Kijiji and I called the guy and drove an hour away just to snag it. I had to jam it into the back seat of my 2 door Honda civic as well!:lol_hitti The dimensions are 26-3/8" x 17-1/2" x 19-1/4" (WxDxH)

evandonald - That's a great box and what a deal! You can't go wrong with a Beach. I bought my first Beach box (an earlier version of yours) at Canadian Tire when I was about your age. That was in the mid 70's and it's still going strong. My Dad was also a CF mechanic.

It seems like its pretty solid. I think it is from the late 80's early 90's but I could be wrong. Also great to hear about previous mechanics doing service in the CF!

Next you need your own garage to store it in...great start!

*why did you remove the US General badges? I like em!

Thank you! I simply prefer the clean look of just the red/silver handles on the box.

Not a professional mechanic (full time college student now!), just something I picked up a few years ago as a hobby (about the same time I started driving....). I modify cars and repair them- 1 Chevy Suburban, 2 Subaru Foresters, 1 Subaru Legacy, 1 Subaru Impreza, Toyota 4 Runner and Toyota Rav4 so I've had a fair amount of experience and different projects I've done.

Now the electric impact. It's a love/hate relationship. It has more than enough power for everything I've asked it to do so far. Suspension, axles, wheels, etc. The highest torque it has taken off was a 190 ft-lbs (+10 years of rust and corrosion). It took it right off with a couple of impacts. When you add extensions the strength drops pretty rapidly, and I had a problem with that 190 Ft-lb bolt and an extension (switched to a deep socket and no problem). The biggest problem is how LONG it is. It won't fit in many places on the Subarus because of their generally small size (it is 13 inches long+ sockets). If I had to do it again, I would get the klutch electric impact over the craftsman one (more powerful and only slightly more expensive). I would love a pneumatic set up, but that is too expensive for me at this point to do it correctly as I hate under buying and having to upgrade later (and it's not my garage).

If it was smaller, I would run around telling everyone to get it. The price and power is great, just not the size. If you do heavy duty applications (HD pickups+) I wouldn't get it, but it has worked on a Suburban, so it has power....

here is my work box (I am a cnc/manual machinist)
I picked it up back in 2006 for $250 (top, mid, roller, side)
made in Van Wert, Ohio
the only modifications i've made are put some liners in the drawers and add the luan sheets to the top of the roller/side to keep wear off the metal.

Very nice setup. And BTW YOU **** @ $250 for that setup. You don't see many kennedy side boxes. Are there any drawers in it? I knew you were a machinist just by the box setup. :lol_hitti

Thank you!

I knew it was a steal as soon as it popped up on C/L, which was while browsing it on lunch break at work. It was located 4 minutes from my (then) workplace. I showed up so fast the guy hadn't had a chance to take the stuff out of it, so I gave him a hand. No machinist tools, the guy had a nice higher end rollaway that was his home box, this was mostly storage for nuts and bolts and duplicates of tools. Guess he needed the space.

Showed back up to work after lunch with a new toolbox and everyone was like...where did that come from?? lol

The side cabinet has 2 shelves that slide out on ball bearing slides. You can put the shelves where you want as there are incremental notches. At my old job, I put the top shelf down far enough so that a full face motorcycle helmet could fit inside. Now I have my 0-6" set of mics there in a wood case.

Husky box looks great its a super value of a box. May not hold heavy bars of gold well but works at most homes for tools fantastic.

Vintage 2005 Costco special edition(LOL) stainless steel box. I have beat on this thing awesome quality and IMO looks better than most of the newer SS boxes. Only complaint is the drawer handles have squishy rubber end boots that keep coming off. Could of spent 3 times as much for a matco roller but I'm glad I got this one. #####Not sure how to post pics.#####

My next box will be a Homak from Napa those boxes are well build and just as smooth as any high end box around. They are very reasonable as well. I saw a great looking yellow one with painted black handles and was like whaaaaat! Nice looking box.

Just finished scrolling through 520 pages of this thread. Took a couple weeks but now I can say "I've seen 'em all". Yup, I get bored at night.

I don't know the exact relationship, but some of the homark boxes are Kennedys.

Here is my box at the shop I started at a couple months ago.

I Just added an International side cabinet to my Matco box. The color is a little different but for the price difference I can live with it and the depth is identical to my box. I made used the mounting bracket that came with it and made a few holes to mount where the handle goes to.

lol I'm working my way backwards... I'm on page 403.

Try modifying your thread settings to see more posts and only ~260 pages appear. They go more quickly this way, less clicking between pages.

YMMV

Snap On KRL 7022: Every tool containing drawer has been "shadowed" with floor tiles from HF. Most (but not all) are Craftsman USA made tools, but more Snap On sets are finding their way in as needed. This week I'm trading it on a KRL1023 in green...which is what I really wanted when I got this box.

As stated, just arrived off of the truck a lil while ago. Been a slack day at work so I was able to make quick work of swapping from the old to the new.
