Recently upgraded from the little 3 drawer Craftsman hand carry in the garage to the 5 drawer HF tool cart. Plus, I got a pretty good deal on this one after signing up for the "inside track club." $100 with the $20 membership. Didn't know anything about it until the cashier told me. Heck I was ready to use my $165 coupon.

Those socket holders on top there. Are those from Lowes? If so how were you able to sit the half inch metric one sides like that? I tried to sit mine sideways and the thing is too long for my HF cart.

Yup, those are from Lowes. But I only have the 1/4 and 3/8 trays in there. Don't really use 1/2" drive stuff much since I have most of the same sizes in 3/8.

This box has been sitting on my snappy dealers truck for the 3 months I've been on buying from him. Being christmas time and I'm single with no kids i figured why not. :D and I needed it I filled 2 tool carts and it was time to thin the herd. I need to put a butcher block and a vise on it.

You really don't understand how big the drawers are on the krl's until you put your tools in it. Now I have to buy more tools.... snappy has quite the racket :D lol

Looks kinda like a cross breed or something not sure of any classics with two full width drawers, But it doesn't have the trim like the KRL series. What's the part number on that thing?

This is sad but will at least double in size middle of next week. It worked fine at last job as they provided most odd ball tools, but here I have to provide all I need so I'm getting a new box. Also pics of my portable table I built. It's a work in progress but is coming along

Here is mine. Bahco stuff mainly, some Snap On ratchets and crows feet.
Supplied by work, and I'm sure you can guess what industry I'm in with all that nice foam...

Nobody else commented that you're missing an allen wrench!?

It is a classis 78 SS. The double top drawer 78 has been out over a year. The 96 SS just came also.

To be honest I don't remember the size as bad as that sounds. I'll try and get more picks and details up later.

Maybe that's good for you, but there's no what we in North America would consider 2" drawers (approx 50 mm in the rest of the world.)

Personally, I like the 2" drawers.

If I'm getting this right, you don't think 2" drawers are acceptable to the US/Canada? :headscrat

Why not? unless you are doing pliers racks and deep sockets, you don't need more than 2" generally... Screwdrivers, wrenches, ratchets and extensions, and lots of other tools can get by nicely, even in 1-1/2"

No, I like 2" drawers. If you look back on page 526, you can see how much I like 2" drawers. I was only commenting on the fact that the toolbox in question only had thinnest drawers that were 3" (79 mm), but that all dimensions given were in millimeters. Even though Canada is metric, we still do a few things in imperial, height, weight, and toolbox drawers to mention 3.

I decided to sell my Classic 78. I am going to purchase a 56" Tool Vault box from strictlytoolbox.com. Lots of reviews say it is a decent box for the cost. I will order the stainless top as well even though it is on backorder. I feel for just over $1100 it will be worth me doing this since I don't need such a nice Snap on. Any testimonials about tool vault or strictlytoolbox? I have scoured the site and read several positive reviews and their website shows lots of positive as well. I would go with the Extreme but I am looking to save a few bucks.

No. Sold my box for $1700 which is what I paid for it. I can get a box of good size that has good reviews and still have $500 left over that I can use for other stuff. I could go harbor freight as well, but I have enjoyed the CS that strictlytoolbox has given people and I feel the box will be better than US general (Just opinion).

Yes, I had a box that was good in size. I also had a box worth money that I could sell and use money for a box nearly equal in size for my need and have money leftover for other things. I had no need for a Snap On box and I really have no need for a 56" box in general. Sometimes I would prefer to get rid of something if I now the value is there for me and I can get what I have out of it. I had this box for two years and I sold it for what I paid for it...that is just fine for me.

i'm guessing it was an investment...

:dunno:

I am honestly surprised at the amount of interest me selling a snap on box has generated. Investment, no. Do you keep everything you purchase? Doubtful. I just sold my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee for a much smaller Ford Focus. Saving myself a little bit monthly and over the course of the loan and better gas mileage. That is no different than selling a box that might be worth more and I got what I needed out of it and moved on to something else. I never would have sold it if I couldn't get my price for it, which I did. Enough from me in this thread, I won't even post my next box because I have never felt people would take such a strong stance when deals are always discussed. Live and learn. Take care.

I can finally post in here! I've spent the past 3 years working off of a 4'x12' area of peg board. But with the new house/garage being built at the first of the year, i decided i should get my tools organized and ready to move over.

So this week i bought a 3 piece crafstman tool chest (and got a 2nd mid box for free!!). Spent all day today organizing, I thought i had a nice collection of tools (23, only a hobbyist when it comes to turning wrenches). Now that they are all in the box, i realize i need more tools. I've still got 2 drawers empty on the main, and havent put anything into the extra mid chest.

And my find of the day, 2 of these cheap little wire racks (cost me 5 bucks total)

And Converted them into these!
