Do you mind if I ask how much that giant MAC socket set ran you?
Also so jealous of the green impacts!

Btw nice to know a kitty cat fan keeps a deere inside their toolbox!
I think the MAC 1/2 deep impact socket set was around $400. Maybe? I've had it for several years now. The green tools are always fun to spot. My daughter always finds me construction equipment toys and gives them to me. Nothing runs like a Deere, when it's being chased by a CAT.

The poor friction slides are about ready to fall out of the box on a couple of drawers... 50lb rating means they're good for like 200lbs right? :willy_nil

Of course they are, been there done it. My first box was a craftsman. then 3 snap ons later, one matco in my garage, and another snap on coming.

Thought I would show my dads set up. He has a big Waterloo 52" with a smaller Waterloo in the middle with a 40" snap on the other end. Sorry the pic isn't the clearest. I will get better ones in the spring. Basically he has about 10ft of boxes under his bench.

Been working overseas with a supplied roll cab and snap on/bahco tools since I finished school. Headed back to Canada and trying to build up a good little chest to get started with before I upgrade to a decent cabinet.

Set up some foam in two drawers as I was home last - but didn't have enough to do the layout of the top drawer or the bulk bottom. Aviation tool control!

Your pop has a nice, functional-looking shop.

Idndeed he does....my Vette hibernates on the 4 poster that wouldn't fit in my garage after I bought it. I couldn't get the lift up high enough to get my truck under it. Instead of returning it I put it in his garage.

Heres an addition I picked up. In a shop with 3 bays, always moving to a different bay, mobility is key. Got the craftsman 2 self cart Christmas. Ive already posted the green SO Roll Cart.

Can someone tell me exactly what the adjustable looking pipe wrenches are. I seen em before but I'm curious as what they actually are. Look very beastly

The ones on the right? Those are just Snap-On's version of super-adjustable wrenches. I've never had any, so I couldn't tell you if they are any good or not.

Cool waterloo box. Is that a HF cart with a snap on emblem I see in the foreground? :willy_nil

Yea, have one ball bearing box. The pull force difference is quite a bit different compared to the smooth, well loaded friction slide box. Sometimes it is a one hand brace the box, other hand pull the drawer type of deal. :willy_nil

That is a really slick and clean looking setup between the orange, butcher block and the hutch.

I have all the harbor freight boxes..56", 44"', and that cart. All received snap on name plates. No particular reason for doing it. I just wanted to see how they looked and if a special name plate makes a difference in appearance...my conclusion it does. People either think it's stupid and a waste of money or others think it's cool and the easiest way to get a snap on box without forking over the kids.....all my boxes are in this thread somewhere

As soon as spring comes and I retrieve my Vette I will take more pics. We owned a Sunoco station for years (formerly arco) and my dad has a great collection of tools. Unfortunately he's in CT and I am in RI 2 hrs away.

I bought them mostly because they are highly recommended here. Big surprise right? They have worked very well on the large water connection couplings on the diesel locomotives I work on. Also for gripping frozen fasteners after being heated with an oxyacetylene torch. A little clumsy for some tasks. But highly recommend.

Sorry for the multiple posts, but my ipad will only let me load pic at a time. This is my main box. It's an older husky 41" (same as the older Mac economizer) with a craftsman and hf side boxes, with a craftsman chest and intermediate.

This is my old work box that I don't need at my current job. It's my sons now, he's five and knows almost what everything is and how to use them.

Anyone have the masterforce brand from menards?

I had one for 6 or 7 (I think?) years in two different shops I worked at before my Matco. I got the biggest one that Menards carried at the time. Which was the 40 inch. Before they changed the drawer locking style and the key style. I overloaded it with tools and it still didn't want to give out. It was a great box. I just outgrew it. My dad bought it just after I started at the dealership as a "good job" and birthday present. I believe at that time it was on sale for $279.99 or something close to that (he offered to buy the top and bottom, but I was grateful and told him just the bottom would be great. I could buy the top myself) the Matco guy gave me $3000 trade in on it for my current box. It still looked pretty new. I'd buy another for the garage at the house.

No more beating around the bush, we want details. Break down the Matco deal prices for us.

$3000 for trade in + 40% off the Matco box which was already at a reduced price +$750 worth of tools. Like I said deal that I'd never find again probably.

You did it again! How much cash out of pocket did it cost you?

The box lists at 12.5k. What was the reduced price? Was the 40% applied before or after the 3k credit?

Alright alright. It cost me almost 6k. It was 30%, not 40%. Yes a small investment, but if I'm gonna do this for the majority of my lifetime it'll be worth it and hopefully I can pass it on when I'm gone.

But it's not a snap on box it's just a snap on badge.

Mind if I ask why you went with 2 7-drawer side cabinets instead of another 44"? A 44" is cheaper than two 7-drawer side cabinets. Space?

Space would have been tight - would have covered up a light switch. But I mostly wanted the cabinets to all be locked together; the two 7 drawer side cabs allow me to bolt the three rollers together.
