Only thing that makes me want to buy a Snap On box is with my student discount ill be able to get a SO box that size for the same price as a cheaper brand. I'm not buying a new box until my small Craftsman is stuffed full

yea with student discount it makes the snap on boxes better prices.

wish i could get student discounting would make my tool purchases so much affordable!

I made my living as a technical writer so I only play mechanic, plumber, electrician, carpenter and computer geek. This stainless box from Costco was a big step up for me; it replaced a JC Penny toolbox I bought in 1977.

Where's your Phillips drivers?

Stainless toolboxes remind me of gas grills. I halfway expect to see a couple racks of ribs in one of the drawer shots.

VW diesels went into forklifts? interesting! That looks like a pretty tiny diesel engine as well, whats the displacement on it?

You'd be very surprised at what powers some forklifts. Perkins, Deutz, 4.3 GM, VW engines (including a W6), 4G64 and 4G63 Mitsubishi, 4BT and 6BT Cummins. Hell I've even seen a 318 Chrysler haha.

I'll try and get a few pictures of contents in the next day or two.

Nice to see another forklift guy! And even somewhat local!

I see your profile says TN, which part of the state? I'm also interested in inside pics of that box, cause everyone I see working out of a van/truck does it way different.

I've heard of 4bt cummins going into forklifts but I've never heard of a 6bt, that must be one hell of a forklift!

I've worked on some 30k capacity trucks with Detroit series 60 engines. Some of the Piggyback trucks have Kubota diesels, and John Deere LP engines are being used in some industrial trucks.

I hate piggy backs. Haha . Ive seen but never wrenched on those detroit trucks, they sound amazing though at high rpm. Who is using jd lp engines?

Is that lifting a boat? That's a beast of a forklift:lol_hitti. Its massive!

Thats why it's called a marina bull. Haha. The mast also travels up as well as below, thats how it sits in boats.

Crown has come out with their own line of LP industrial trucks using JD engines.

I kind of like the Piggybacks.

I've always lived inline engines, but those old Detroit v8s are some awesome engines I have to say

I'm still figuring out where stuff will go, and there's a ton of other tools in drawers and compartments in the van. That's the box for now though. :)

A series 60 is a totally different engine than you're thinking.

Here is my toolbox project. Two nu-era cabinets on a custom welded frame. Frame has six casters and two feet which extend to used as the brake and retract so it can roll. Total size is 90" wide, 66" tall on casters, and 28" deep. I still need to paint the exterior and install the drawer handles. I have already cleaned, painted, and greased the drawers. New lock mechanisms need to be installed as well. My wife works in the furniture business so in thinking about putting a 1" thick black laminate top on it as well. I am tall, 6'4", but won't be able to use it as a work surface. Just storage of boxes or other larger tools. Anyone else do anything similar?

Yeah their are a several different variants of the TDI. Gotta say the ALH is till my favorite. ;-)

Just ended my career as a service manager / only tech at a used TDI dealer today. Going to work for VW starting tomorrow morning selling parts. I see the purpose of TDIs, if all you care about is mpg and nothing else. I like my 96 turbo VR6 jetta though for everything but the mpg, which isn't that bad if I am doing only highway and can keep my foot out of it.

It's all a matter or perspective and what is important to you. I wouldn't say mpg is the "only" reason to drive a diesel over gasoline. I drive a 2.5 MKV on a daily basis. I bought in new in 2006. I would have went with a TDI, but they had 0% interest on the 2.5L at that time. With a TDI being a extra $3500, plus interest on $27k, I would have put a lot of miles on the car before I could have started to see savings on the fuel cost.

It's nice to see a fellow ALH fan.

Recently fixed up a 2002 Jetta for my folks and a 2001 Beetle for my brother. Both are TDI ALH's. Both low miles. 150k on the Jetta, 128k on the Beetle.

Now back to kick *** tool boxes! :)

I'm getting my new KRL7022 next Wednesday! Yeah Me!

Hell hole of a King Air 200
Either you or the person you bought it from were a 12v install tech at some point. The Avital and Cerwin Vega stickers give it away. Or you just have those products in your car and put the stickers on

Yeah, my buddy who I bought it off of does that.

Awesome, someone that still uses a taco box as it was designed for. What do you mostly work on (if I can ask)?

King Air 200's and C 130's.
