Traded in my Matco MSC4 cart for the matching JSC770 and upgraded my international locker to a Matco locker. My dealer also included the adapter bracket and a side shelf. Can't wait to get it hung next week.

Proto tool box are the industry secret. A box that is basically the same as a Mac box for unheard of prices. These should be the journal favorite, not the HF boxes.

The HF boxes are a Journal favorite due to them being a bargain. The same cannot be said for the Proto. It does look like a great box though.

I would rather pick up a couple of the HF 56's, and still have a couple grand left for tools.

I don't think $2,800 is that bad for a 57" box myself...

Where did you find it for 2800? The best I found was 3800 from a place I'd never heard of. Average price seems to be about 4500. It is still quite a bit more than 750 though.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking the box. Just pointing out apples/oranges.

Do the drawers stay closed with detents like the Mac boxes?

That is a thing of beauty...
What's the model number of that box?

Look at all those snap on wrenches!!!!!
Hey did those filter band wrenches come in a set? Brand?

Lisle swivel grippers and OTC 1/2 drives... No set. Just bought the ones I wanted.

I got it from tools-plus.

Yup... Nice adjustable detents like MAC boxes.

I would go with an Extreme 72" for that $2800 from stictlytoolboxes.com
I bought a 56" from them both top and bottom. Its a nice box.

That's actually too big of a box for the shop I'm in... 6 full truck and trailer depth bays but there's 2ft between doors so it get's tight and having a small box is nice getting around. Ever pushed a loaded 72" box? Yeah... That's no bueno after two trips across the shop.

The Extreme boxes are nice but I don't really like the drawer layout and made in the USA was the deal breaker (Plus I can get slides from the MAC guy).

Worked in shops for years where we pushed loaded 72 inch top and bottoms. That said most of us have big carts now. Good looking box though.

Anyway to increase security of those toolboxes? I have been thinking if it is possible to retrofit an old car alarm; complete with charging circuit and backup battery.

Thinking back, most of us make our living with our tools and with each and every tool being added, I think a cylinder lock isnt going to cut it anymore.

A very nice collection!!!

4th picture, top drawer of your Matco box… What kind of rails are you using to hold your long hex and triple square bits? Blue holders.

Would love a closer view of your socket/bit holders.

I made my own here so that I could quickly put it on my cart when I needed any of these

Sweet! Thanks or the detailed pics!

I use mainly hansen trays. I need something different for all the different bit sockets.
