Wow life got busy and I stopped spending so much time on the computer. But here is an update! This is what my box looked like last time I was on here... around six years ago lol

Changed the short locker out added another and the hutch. Tons of room now, time to fill it up. I also work at a much larger/ busier shop so lots of changes.

Identical to mine minus the LH locker

My new one. 25 years on my first Matco, it was time. Also a 3 month old "used" box that retails for almost 17K for $5400, couldn't pass it up.

The rest. Thinking about some plier racks but the wife says I'm being way too OCD. Is there such a thing ?

Nice layout. One of my coworkers does the same thing with his ratchets. I have the HF 44 that box is very tempting. More roomy

@Ugotd8, are those snap on ratchet hard handles custom made and what trays are you using to hold the ratchets in place.

thanks

Ugotd8,

Looking good! I'm biased heavily on these boxes.

Thanks all. I'm happier than a pig in slop. Need some SO 1/2 sockets and I'll be set for a long time.

Yes, I removed the cushion grip handles and replaced them with the JH Williams screwdriver handles. Whole thread about doing that here.

The ratchet holders are just cut out of one of these:

Not my idea, saw someone post it up here awhile back. Picked that up at HD.

You keep your tool chest in the kitchen?

Doesn't look much like a kitchen to me. I guess the metal cabinets and drawers from the '50s threw you off ? Or maybe you were just looking to insult somebody for your own amusement ?

Relax man nobody was insulting anyone. U got a nice looking garage and car. It is just the layout of it resembled a kitchen that's all. With the window between the cabinets looking like a sink should be below and the tool box out in the open looked like a counter island.
Ur garage is similar to mine...I got a hf 56" with a lot of snap-on inside aswell as a bagged car!

Haha now I get it, thanks. I can't get humor sometimes, esp. on the interwebs.

But ****, now I gotta knock that window out. :bounce:

Sweet Pinstripes!

Thanks!

Thanks!

I think he meant the wives belong in the kitchen and wouldn't know what your pliers looked like unless your box was in the kitchen....pretty funny still

That is a really good looking box EasyE. I really like that paint color against the stained wood top. Can you provide some details on the top? It looks as if you recessed a metal portion in the center of the wood top.

Its just a big piece of laminated butchers block a friend had they were going to throw away.
I routed the bottom out to fit onto the box so it won't move around and routed out the center for a piece of 1/8" aluminum.
I stained the top then sealed with spar urethane.

The top box was my first box ever - the bottom box is a made in Canada (International?) Craftsman Professional box. Pretty sturdy, and I got it on liquidation for 250$ Canadian. I had been watching Craigslist for a better drawer layout in a used box, but I needed one right away for work.

2.jpg

Williams/Wiha/Others

3.jpg

Mastercraft Maximum wrenches, some Craftsman box ends, Williams offset wrenches + Williams T Handles. Terrible Snap On ratcheting box ends and the life saving blue point bit drivers

4.jpg

Snap On/Bahco/Jet/Easco/Gearwrench/Dynamic(Gray Canada) - a 1/4" shallow set that was cheap and I'll probably never upgrade. I love them.

5-1.jpg

Scrapers, Punches, mint tins full of new bits, etc etc etc

6.jpg

#1 of Roller - paperwork and stuff

7.jpg

SK Offset Wrench Set + Some Martin + a Bonney 1 1/4. Just got em from Epstiens for a great deal. Gearwrench box ends, and the Mastercraft large sizes

8.jpg

Blue Point/SO Speeder/Cresent/File roll

Stores.

Pretty modest compared to most on here. I'm in the market for a top chest that has 4+ slim drawers. The top of my box is used for my paperwork and as a work space, and until I can pick up a bigger box I need to make due.

Nice box.

Love the trailer:drool:

Thanks, actually I was redoing the trailer when I had to throw it back together to haul my toolbox. If you notice there was body work being done to the fender and I had to to put some new floor boards in quick because I had most of the old floor out for replacement. I finished the fender yesterday.

Just got my 6" and 4" narrow drawers in yesterday... special thanks to Spudland Dave for finding the part numbers for those. Best $300 I've spent on this thing, that 10" deep drawer was friggin' pointless. Snap On should build 'em like this. Or even better, a "KRL122" with another row of 4" drawers, for those of us who don't need 30" deep boxes. :pimpflash

(Most of) The socket & ratchet drawer. My ratchets mostly live on my cart, and my phone doesn't take wide enough pics.

The Milwaukee drawer, minus impacts:
<a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/15426700@N02/13787558114" title="20140411_081156 by firebox40dash5, on Flickr"><img src="https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3834/13787558114_1b87a5ae16_c.jpg" width="600" height="800" alt="20140411_081156"></a>

I knew I shoulda finished my top before I put it on. Took roughly 10 minutes after I laid it on there to make it all dirty. :dunno:
