Finally I did some cleaning at my dad's and can show the set up. I love that Waterloo box he got. The snap on is what I had before the HF 56".

Thank you.

Some of the drawers in the box are a bit empty now with all the stuff transferred into the cart. It drives me nuts, lol. I also need to organize some of the lower drawers a bit better.

I do have a $513 Snap On credit that I need to use though. Just haven't decided what to buy.

Well the new toolbox is finally getting organized. My tools aren't anything impressive but seeing as how it looks like people like to see other people's drawers, I figure I can post mine too.

Sitting on top: some filler rod that was too long for anywhere else, chemicals and whatnot. I'll probably store the chemicals elsewhere when the butcher block top goes on.

This box never gets moved, so the handle is in use as a clamp rack

5" full width drawer: Sockets, ratchets, torque wrenches, and pliers. Waiting on a sweet plier rack from the member here that's making them to organize the right side. Also haven't brought my 1/2" drive stuff from work yet, so I'll have to rework this one when I do that.

3" full width drawer: Wrenches. Got some plans for new tools, so I tried to leave room for them.

2" narrow bank drawer #1: marking tools of all kinds, knives, razor blades scraper, streamlight, infrared thermometer, spark plug gapper, sewing tools, couple of small levels, digital calipers and protractor.

2" narrow bank drawer #2: screwdrivers, bit kit, torx drivers, allen wrenches.

2" narrow bank drawer #3: welding stuff- tungsten/gas cup kit, welding brushes, 1-2-3 blocks and magnets. Fuel line disconnects, clutch tool, brake line flare tool, and my 'special' spark plug starter.

10" narrow bank drawer: rags, zip ties, odds and ends, tubing bending tool.

2" wide bank drawer #1: Standard and thread files, inspection and retrieval tools, hacksaw, tire tool, punches/chisels.

2" wide bank drawer #2: Electrical drawer. Insulated screw/torx drivers, butane soldering iron, soldering station (disassembled), multimeter w/ test leads and thermocouple stuff, terminal and test tools, and empty space.

2" wide bank drawer #3: pipe and adjustable wrenches, bolt cutter, and teflon tape. Empty space in this one too.

4" wide bank drawer: Hammers, couple of prybars, and power tool bodies (team red!)

6" wide bank drawer: Motive bleeder, heat gun (in the Makita case), torch, drill bits, nitrile gloves, couple tubs of grease, master trim tool kit.

Also, I've read a lot of posts about people with snapon boxes having issues with the drawer liners moving. I like the thinness of the snapon liners, and I didn't want to spend another $150 on finding stickier ones, so I made up my own solution. I got ahold of some 3M VHB tape- it's a very thin pressure-sensitive adhesive; basically it's like trim adhesive that's partially cured and on a roll. It's designed specifically to be strong in shear but weak in peel- meaning you can stick stuff to it and it won't slide, but if I ever have to peel the liners up they won't be ruined, and I can easily remove the stuff from the drawers.

I laid it down in sort of an asterisk pattern, with a double row at the top and bottom, like this:

50CE38E3-AE29-435D-800C-20E876F6E34D_zps6tkwcinl.jpg

And then laid the liner back in. If you do this, make sure you roll the liner down hard over the tape before you put any tools in- I used the chunk of round 2" delrin that's visible in my hammer drawer for this.

The wrench drawer was especially bad with the liner just laying on the drawer bottom- with this done I can slam the hell out of that drawer and nothing moves a millimeter. If anyone is unsure about ponying up for a full set of different liners, you might want to try this first.

New to me kennedy :) first 'full' size box! $45 auction score, I ran out of liner half way through so I haven't gotten the chance to fix & fill 'er up yet. Will update with pics when I get them !

If anyone knows of a good cabinet that'd match it whether it'd be kennedy or not that'd be awesome !

Do you know if kennedy makes a matching 6+ drawer roll cab? I love the box I just need more space.

Yes they did. That style was made late 50's early 60's to the best of my knowledge. I have two of the rollers: 8 drawers, (7 equivalent, he top is split into two) one is brown wrinkle, the other is red smooth. Both have the semi flattened drawer pulls like yours. Since your's has red wrinkle, I'll go out on a limb and say they made it in red wrinkle as well, unless someone resprayed yours.

The front cover is a split cover sandwiched between drawer rows 4 & 5. Pull it out, one half goes up, one down to lock it up.

I've posted these previously here and in other threads, but I just got my garage rearranged and the boxes all together.
DSCN2712_zpse47a7be7.jpg

The blue Cman set up is my original; a gift from my wife about 10 years ago.
On the left is a top and bottom of indeterminate origin I picked up for $25 and did a full resto on. Probably MBC, as discussed here:
Restoration photos here

The red Cman top box I picked up at a tag sale for $10. Just did a little clean up. The bottom Waterloo I got for FREE on FreeCycle. did a minimal resto on it. Scrubbed it and hit it with paint. Before and after photos.

Awesome. That's definitely the way I'll be heading when I run out of room in my box. I wouldn't even be able to have the extensions tray in the same orientation that you have yours, let alone the SHLF80 :shocking:

Oops I didn't see someone already asked I also wanted to know how they fit do they stick out farther or do the fit flush. Epiq lockers are huge but I don't really like the epiq boxes

yes they are the epiq lockers. They sit just about flush with the box. Mabe 1/2 inch difference stick out and the just about match my trim. I liked them cause they are bigger than the master series ones. Plus the are on their own wheels. twice the room on inside.

Sorry for the poor quality shots. This was shot with iPhone and uploaded to an album here on GJ. I use my 72" box as the master storage. It is not pretty and pristine but it works. I have two other boxes that have overflow, big stuff and air tools and one cart that has all of my drills, drivers and bits. I also have a Kennedy machinist chest I use for small tools.

What are you using to hold up all your pliers?

Search Lisle 40460

Do you have enough utility knives and tape measures? :scared:

I'm a sucker for those Home Depot and Lowes yellow tag specials along with whatever shows up in my E-Mail box. But, I need to ask rhetorically, "Do you ever have enough tools?"

Holy duplicate batman lol. Is this a community box?

This box is kind of where I store my most-used tools and all of the duplicates. I have multiple tool-belts, tool totes and tool bags which are kitted up for various functions, too. One for plumbing, one for electrical, one for automotive, one for cycling and bicycle repair, one for outdoor home improvement, etc. These are the excesses. This is 35+ years of collecting. It did not happen quickly. Hoarding? Yes! Of course. But this is going to be the most sympathetic audience to proudly display a real sick addiction to. :3gears:

I can dig it. I'm working on another set of tools to put into an off field box so I don't have to pack and unpack, worst of all forget tools when working away from the home airport. I spent a full day pulling cleco's with needlenose pliers two weeks ago:willy_nil

I'm not sure what's going in the empty drawer - maybe my Milwaukee cordless stuff. I still have some real estate to optimize and fill.

The quality of this box is the same as the Harbor Freight boxes I ogled for so long - good, not great, but much better than my Craftsman box. Narrow drawers are about 13 3/4" x 20", and the wide drawers are about 33" x 20". My only beef is the drawer layout. I would rather have just one narrow bank and the other two combined for one wider bank of drawers. But for $800 I'm not gonna ***** too much.
