True, but it also allows for future growth. Pictures of which will keep the rest of us entertained. :)
I was thinking the cart too, but it doesnt leave as much room for future growth, my tool collection is very small right now, i still have a bunch of snap ring pliers out of the box and the bottom is full of all my metric stuff.
Really? I would get a pliers rack and some wrench racks. After that, an HF five drawer cart.

i was thinking that but i hate the drawer layout of it

Lol that's a double edged sword for me. I see someone get something I don't have and want then my snap on driver shows me snap ons version and my wallet gets lighter. Damn thing almost floats if i read the forum on Tuesday before he arrives on Wednesday.

I worked out of a similar cart to the 6 drawer for a few months. It was right but i had a lot more tools. My driver made me a deal on a kra and 6 months later I'm in a krl. It's a slippery slope lol.

At the house it would depend on how mobile I wanted my workspace and sq ft of the garage. A six drawer with the side can would be about perfect if he doesn't need a workspace that a roll cab would provide.

Looks like you got that smaller cart packed with high quality tools.

What type of work do you do, if you don't mind my asking. I spy the wiring diagram on the lid, so was wondering.... :dunno:

BTW, welcome to GJ

Thanks I work at a speed shop in Southern California. Mostly play with GM stuff.
I put a turbo'd LS1 into my foxbody, so I pretty much make stuff go fast for a living

The wiring diagram is a painless wiring chassis harness for a 59 vette I'm putting together at work. Going Ls3 with classic AC/Heat. It's a kit car but still gonna be a fun ride

Well, that's another thing all together, a new box is definitely in order. Just from playing around in the store, I really like the HF 44". But I think I would get myself organized before I move. You MAY be able to get away with just the cart, for now at least, and store the lesser used items in your old box, where they won't piss you off as often.

This is my home box, has everything I need....just need to get a set of deep 1/2" sockets (SAE and metric) and Ill be good....picked up the husky from HD for about 200 bucks and the craftsman I've had for years, most tools are craftsman, but there's a few snap-on, husky, westward, proto and other tools. this was after I moved in so everything's a little messy, I'm slowly working on getting rid of things and making everything more organized.

in these bottom drawers is a bunch of ****, in the left there's everything you see but I also have a smaller toolbox with all pullers and punches, on the right is my drills and volt meter

the Craftsman box just has eye protection and gloves, hacksaw, staple guns, and other random stuff like utility knives and household hardware(picture stuff, nails etc.)

How do you like the Torin? I keep seeing them on sale at TSC. I just wish it had drawers on the right of the cabinet instead of a door.

I picked it based on others positive comments here. They had none on display so it was a blind purchase for me. Based on what I've seen so far it was a good decision. The drawers all have a locking latch on the right side. All but the slimmest drawers have two sets of slides too. Love the matte finish too. In my opinion it's as good or better than anything at CT, Lowes or Sears currently.

It's on sale at TSC this weekend. $250 for the top, $350 for the bottom.

Yeah I saw that Torin thread. My TSC has one on the floor, but all drawers are locked. Didn't bother to ask them for the key. It looked solid and it's a great price, I just wish it had more drawers.

Did you notice the locking latch beneath the drawer handle? Just asking becaus eit may not have been obvious. It also could have been locked though.

Actually I hadn't noticed it the first time, but the second time I went to really look at the cabinet I did notice it. Unless I'm not working the latch correctly.

I kinda like that box, diggerrick...

Thanks - it's been kinda growing on me more every time I use it. My original plan was to replace it with the 72" HF box when they become more available and coupons appear. Now I'm not sure I'll bother. The drawers roll in & out very smoothly, but I'm not sure how the latches will do in the cold. I think I read somewhere they are rubber and get stiff in the cold. I'll find out eventually.

Nice set up! I'm a truck and coach apprentice too. Where did you get that big indexing pry bar in your wrench drawer? Looks sweet for wheel seals.

We use the smaller ones at work for pulling seals.

Got the KRL722 on Wednesday to replace the KRA4107, decided not to trade it in because I got a good deal on the new one.

It's got electric blue trim and a coated steel work top.

How cow, that looks real nice. Is it all friction slides? I assume you are on good terms with this neighbor?
