wow, that is very nice mac box. what is happen at work??

got sick after thanks giving, in the hospital for 9 days and got fired for 3 day no call no show....

its a stealership, with a guy that runs service shouldnt be running service. and he a theft, liar and so on. i went to the general manager about things and so on. but he's a douchebag it seems to. been trying to find a job. rather hard tho with time the way they are

it cost me $150 to have it towed home.and it was only like 8 miles...

oh no.. i am sorry about that happen.. i am understand that work policy required to call for sick or they would consider no show.. i always text messages to my service manager if something happen to me at home or sick or need day off because of bad snow. i always ask for vacation week as month or more before the vacation date. My work never want me go... they always want me to keep work there.

i am work for Crossroads dealership as Mercury and Lincoln, i had through 4 service managers while i am employee there for 3 years. right now my service manager are very good to me even if i am upset or mad at someone at work like stupid service advisor or other tech that ***** at me for no reason, i can complaint to my service manager, he will take care it but they still will do again, again so i let it slide out but i can make bad day for other tech if i want to... i have good relationship with my boss but bad with OWNER. Even service manager told Owner that i am stay while Owner was ***** about my pay as hourly and make too much for little works (slow business). when i found out the owner closed down the Chrysler dealership where i was work for, i was plan to leave and packing my tools/boxes but my service manager had me come in his office and has meeting. he told me to stay to keep work for them but will move me to Mercury and Lincoln shop to keep employee. i told him, i will stay but if i am not happy, i am leave.. he agreed with me even he offered me a assistant to find other job if i want. that happen on September 30, 2008. Right now i am still work same dealership even i did tried to look for other job but no lucks. SO i am stay where i am work for so i can keep get paid..


150 dollars to tow your toolbox for 8 miles are crazy!! i have KRL1203/KRL1003 with tons of tools in, MSC12, MSC4, and top craftsman 40in wide toolbox to hold junk tools/paperworks, and bottom box with full of fluids and parts which i can use as good one to test. i will have to call for flat tow truck to move all if i have to...

i Just got 1/2 my garage cleaned up after bringing my work box home.

its still a mess yet, been trying to sell off the unwanted tools i dont need.and other misc part and **** i dont need!

You think thats crazy....i had to pay $ 100 to get a tow truck out to help get my KRL1003 in the back of my pickup....so i could deliver it to the new owner....luckily he had a forklift to unload it.

Here's the snap on I bought to replace my Husky,finally got around to painting the Gray side cabinet.It's a little tall for the new box but I made some brackets up underneath to carry the weight.

Mine aren't much compared to some of the professional setups. A couple of three piece sets from sears.
I bought them as I found them on sale. I've been combing craigslist for a matco or snap on taco wagon for cheap. No luck yet.

$150 to move your box?! Did you ask your MAC dealer to move it for you? His service should be available to you for what you paid for that box. My MAC dealer moves boxes all the time for customers, even Snap-On and Matco boxes.

EDIT: By the way, that is an awesome workstation.

any towing company that would move that kind of box for much less would not be covered if something happened to it during the move.

Why didn't someone from the hospital call your work and tell them what's up? Even still, I think it's terrible to fire a guy when he's in the hospital; kinda makes me mad.

same with my work. the chrysler warranty Admin person work at my dealership and some how she got in coma (the rumor said she got in low sugar which cause coma but i dont know if it is true or not) and she was in hospital for more than 2 months later then wake up, she was told she is no longer employee at my work... because of no show, no call then you lost job...

i dont like it even that lady's daughter told my work about it but Owner just follow his policy in the Employee manual... oh well...

Usually the handbook is a great way to support cutting the cord on an employee you do not mind parting company with if you ask me.

i dont mind about my work... i never like owner as he complaint about me that i make too much money and got overtimes a lot... remember i am here to help, fix, make customers a happy even mad customers that refused to pay which had me to do that for free because i am still get paid.. if i am flat rate , i wont do that either... all other techs are on flat rate and wont do what i am doing for three years, fix the problems for free as my service manager ask me to do...

i am looking for other job...

Ok I posted pics of the inside of my old box before so I wasn't going to do the new one but I had a couple PM's asking for a look at how I laid out the new box so here goes.Things will probably change as time goes on and I get used to having half as many drawers to work with.Not having any small drawers is a pain for organization.

There is an older mechanic at our shop he works on all the skid-steers and other compact equipment that has a bunch of chopped up wrenches like that. He has a whole drawer of his tool box dedicated to wrenches he's modified in one way or another. It kind of made me sad to see some nice MAC or Snap-On wrench all hacked up, but you gotta do what you gotta do to get the job done in time I guess.

I got a craftsman 200 or so piece tool set when I was 17. Since then I've bought a couple more small pieces but nothing major. I knew a needed a real tool box. I found an ad on craigslist about a Mac toolbox loaded with craftsman/snapon/mac tools for $750. I went and checked it out, and I got it for $550 CASH!!! He said he had several people offer $300-350 for just the box, and didn't want to deal with having to resell the tools themselves. He is moving cross country shortly, and needed this gone. Overall, I'm very happy. I really needed a toolbox, and this will work just fine. Here are the pics. We had to put it on its side in a truck to get it home, so a lit of things are all tossed around. I have to re organize it with my own tools anyway. The smaller red side attachment is empty.

Thanks. I like garage items that have a little "character" as you could call it. I bought that about 2 years ago. A month after getting it, I bought this Matco 3 drawer unit for $20, and placed in in between what I already had. Here's a new picture of that one...

I have boxes and tools all over the place but most work is done in my damp, cryptic basement. This humble Craftsman is my main box down there. No ball bearing slides or anything nice. Just 3 drawer homeowner grade....

I have one of those old Craftsman boxes that is identical to the one setting directly on the bench on the right hand side, the two drawer. I would love to see some close ups of that one. I assume you must have restored it cause it looks like new.

That's exactly what HF is for. Pick up the "cheapies" from HF, and save the good stuff for posterity. My "specialty tool" drawer is full of hacked tools and even though they are mostly cheap items, I'm quite proud of them.

As I said, I have the same Craftsman box. When I repainted mine, I painted my pull drawers bright red, and the rest of the box grey as you did. I really liked the contrast.

My old Craftsman box does not have red handles. It has chrome handles just like yours, my old box has red drawers and th e rest of the box is grey.

I am not so good with pics, in fact, I struggle with them so I am making no promises.

How on earth did you find two of those? I thought I was lucky to just find the one!

I have had the KRA-59 since I started as a GM mechanic in 1972.
The KR-1201, I traded a Sundowner BP 2 horse trailer even up for.
The KR-1001, I traded 9 different Snap On roll cabs, intermediate boxes and top boxes even up for.
99.9 percent Snap On tools in 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", and 3/4" drives and complete sets of sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers, punches and chisels, JD special tools, impacts, torque wrenches (I have ONE MAC 0-150 lb-inch), torque multipliers, yada, yada, yada.

I took my camera to the shop finally and got new pictures of my toolbox for your viewing plessure. I found in different shops that my Craftsman box had more Mac, Snap-on, and Matco tools in it and the Truck brand boxes next to it were filled with Craftsman and Tiawan wrenches. The old saying "It's what's on the inside that matters" is very true.
