One of my co workers boxes. I always wondered what the bottom box was, now I know its a Mac!Yep. that's my Old Faithful:

I bought the Mac bottom box and Snap-On top box filled with a motley collection of tools back in the 70's from a guy in Stockton who had fallen on hard times. They were old when I bought them. As my tool collection grew, I ran out of room and added the Craftsman middle box, then the Craftsman side cab later on. So I guess I should name the unit Topsy, because she just growed! After inheriting my Dad's tool collection earlier this year, I knew I needed more room, so that's when I began my research, eventually resulting in the purchase of the Extreme 72" box. It would have been hard to see Topsy go, but luckily my brother-in-law needs a rollaway so he will be keeping it in the family.
Cheers,
Paul
^^ I love the drawer layout of that box.
Is that black thing part of the drawer catch/latch? If so how does it work?
Maybe not, but a TON of guys on here have that box, and most are pretty pleased with them...
It's a good choice. Even with a bigger box the service cart will come in handy (I wish I had a cart to hold a few things by the car when I'm working on it)
Just bought this 56" box from NAPA on sale for $1499. It is made in Canada and 24" deep. I thought that was a pretty good buy for the money.
These are the same as Costco sells under the SPG International label.
: Thanks.can someone please explain the differences in quality between the heritage, classics and eqip in the snap on range for me please?
If you worked hard for it, it's as nice as any on here. Congratulations, and welcome to the club!

Myself and friends have used ours in professional settings without any issues. I still use mine heavily despite working out of a small 2 car now and I have much bigger complete boxes now. It's handy as a work cart/portable bench but is much more organized than piling everything on a shelf.

Clean setup! I'll have to check out the organization option you mentioned, as I hadn't heard of those.I too got the HF red 5 drawer! I'm slowly moving all my hardline tools from my double decker Snap-on blue box to the HF red box. It is very solid, and convenient when rolling up to a car/ project. Just a glimpse, soon this red box will be filled with Matco ratchets, filled out LAS trays, and the rest of my wrenches, and Matco screwdrivers on the side etc. It will be heavy eventually. I also got the Side shelf for tools in use.
I also have the black HF 4 drawer, that holds all my painting, detail supplies, sandpaper, and electric power tools.
I highly recommend the Mechanic time savers lock a socket trays (Matco also sells them rebranded), I got the 5 row and 3 row 3/8ths. They are 16g powdercoated red, and very robust. Easy to grab by the handle and carry it around. These are not popular around here for some reason? They are expensive but worth it! A lot of my wrenches, sockets, Matco ratchets, Matco sockets, And Matco (Matco rep here) diagnostic and electric tools are not pictured in these photos.

Link to Matcos, you will pay more for the warranty and Matco name though.

Those are nice trays. I went with westling, still waiting on them to get here though.
What rack are you using for the wrenches?
And is that the shallow long drawer? Or one of the drawers on left side?

Thanks, they are! Ive heard good things about wrestling, but its more of a "leave in your toolbox stationary" type tray as it does not lock. The MTSLAST trays give the option of locking or not, you dont have to even if you pick it up.
The wrenches drawer is the shallow long drawer. And the rack is :

In the rear I used a 12in threaded rod with a couple wing nuts, this connects both of them and makes it so its doesnt tip and slide around which I/ other people had problems with.
Ha! I did the very same thing with my wrench racks. Only difference was that I put the threaded rod in the middle of the rack to hide it a bit. Thanks, they are! Just picked this up after asking about the side locker. HF 56" with side locker. It is replacing my 26" Craftsman stack.
