I think the bottom is a mb4200 and the top is a 4210. Those boxes are from the mid 90's. The cart is a modern box is if all eles fails, it should be on their website.

That box is rather odd construction. If you look at the back of the bottom box, you will see it is three sections welded together. Other then the wide drawer being ball bearing slides, the box is friction slides. I don't know if I'd pay $700 for that box, but that's just me.

I'm going to lay it on thick here, as this is a tool forum, I hope people don't mind!
-Turqoise Mac box is my first, lower half is sold. I still keep the top.
-Small blue box was my Field box, gave away.
-HF tool cart was my other first, also sold.
-Blue Montezuma was my first Large box at my new job, sold for my green Tool Vault one.
- I now keep my Green tool vault box (72x30) and Mac box at home.

Is that black stack a 41' Napa Homak box? If it is yours, how do you like it?

Not my toolbox but I was pretty impressed by these Vidmars at the local kubota dealership.[/IMG]

That's sweet! I just got in a Lista rolling cabinet for my shop (free from Festo distributor). It's the first Lista product I've ever had my hands on. Top notch stuff.

I like how it has a safety where when one drawer is open, nothing else can open. Very smooth bearings in the casters. I can't wait to weigh it down!

(Not my box, but same exact thing)

That box is Chicom. but it is also not branded SO, simply sold by them. but a lot of the fripperies are imported also. Most of the S/O tools are US made.

Deception ...
Love tools always admired toolboxes shown here.
But by checking page of Snap-on I found out that they are not made in American but Chinese.

I was very sad with this information ... ... There is still some tool made in America?

http://store.snapon.com/Metal-Boxes-Box-Metal-5-Drawers-P771505.aspx **specification**

I hate to use term troll, but you look past the 100 or so USA made boxes to point out one of the 10 or so hand carry box they import?

i keep seeing more & more of those SO foam tool layouts. are they part of their set building series?

here in Germany they have them time by time on discount so you pay only the tools and get the foam on top.
They have quite a big range of them but it depends on the driver which layouts they have.

Found the forum by accident, been lurking for a few months, decided I'd start posting.

I have worked on cars since 16, made it a profession at 19, went to college at 20 and just graduated with an engineering degree at 24. I haven't stopped working on cars, however I sold most of my good stuff to pay for school. Now that I have a good job with a engineering company I can start building my collection again. I've always had a tool addiction, just never the funds. Thats changing by the month now. Most of my stuff is USA, a couple Taiwanese tools, and very few china made tools. I've learnt my lesson the hard way. I own mostly craftsman stuff now, which has done me good, I don't know why everyone hates craftsman. I have some snap-on socket sets left from when I was a mechanic. I want to start buying snap-on wrenches and ratchets again. Just gotta find me a snap on man in the area, who's ok with dealing with non-professional mechanics. In my experience, they tend to stay away from hobbyists. I would also love to get my hands on milwaukee power tools, however the craftsman stuff I have has held up decently and I don't baby my tools.

I also need more tool storage….but that will always be an issue. Also those chisels are brand new, I just got the complete craftsman set for a good price, seems like everything on the website is being discounted. Has anyone got any experience with them?

Welcome to the madhouse SB, As for Craftsman; the older stuff is fine, but the new import stuff is generally not up to the old standards. Sure there are some tool snobs that look down on certain brands, but I've noticed that pendulum swings many ways.

I worry less about brand and more about the tools quality, and there are a lot of quality tools that have been made over the past century or so, and no dearth of them to find, even new.

Thanks. I like craftsman, their fit and finish is not comparable to Snap-On. However, I have never broken a craftsman socket, just their standard ratchet, which I agree is a POS. I have a lot of craftsman USA, a lot of their G series which is what I bought when I first started out. I like them a lot and the chrome seems to take a beating pretty well. However for anything DEEP I like snap on. I would love to get some Snap-on torx, hex, and swivel. But, can't justify the price right now. I have been thinking about doing some side work around the neighborhood, since I have a good assortment of tools. Possibly make some cash to pay for snap-on or other tool brand stuff.

All those chisels are USA made, I used to use my dads old set at work. They were craftsman from the 70's or 80's USA too. They worked great.

Here is my could be car payment. I started off with the butcher block top but it did not fit right so Snap On gave me a stainless top that fits much better.

well, I fin ally moved to the US for good about 3 weeks ago, moved in with my then GF at her appt' so we have no garage or man cave space so all has to go in the closet, left alot of my tools and box behind. the box came from lowes on clearance for under $20. and the tools I have pieced together over the past 2 years mainly from sears or lowes during various sales. and a few bits from the UK that my old snappy guy did a deal on.

How do you like the husky cut off wheel? I've had the same one for a year or so and it's served me well for the price. Just wish it was reversible.

it's mildly adequate at best. I wouldn't buy it if i had to use it everyday but for the amount I actually have to use it, it does just fine. Worth the money tho as it is solid and does not feel like it is going to erupt like most anything cheaper feels like. Good value tool, not a good pro tool i guess is the short way to put it.
