Dude, what is that red handled drive tool? Almost looks like a Mac stubby screwdriver handle?

No problem, and then we have the gypsy wagon, all I want to do is put an umbrella on this thing and sell hotdogs out of it.

Why so much hate on the old guys stuff? They've probably been successful at it for much longer than you have. :dunno:

I have a three eighths ratchet flex head in the top drawer also I have a half inch flex head breaker bar from them. The gear wrench screwdriver set is great I've used the flat heads pry and nothing's broken yet. I got a good deal on the gear wrench set through eBay. I won a bid for like $44 bucks. I have a #2 and ##3 Phillips bits in 3/8 drive for my impact driver. Good stuff. Bought both ratchets from a user on here. The half inch drive ratchet skips from time to time but that's probably because I'm using it as a breaker bar instead of a ratchet.

Cool man, I saw the Carlyle set at NAPA and I recently discovered the GW set so I've been torn on which to buy! I did buy a 3/8 Carlyle teardrop ratchet the other day and changed some hydraulic filters with and it performed well in the grease without the comfort grip.

I edited my post. They are all good buys.

The transmission magnets are supposed to stay in the pan not wind up on the lid of your tool box. I hate guys that do that.
Could be like me and keeps a bunch of extras to replace the ones guys threw away. They look like allison magnets to me. I keep a bunch stuck to my lift because so many trucks come in with them missing from. The spin on filter because guys throw the filter away with the magnet stuck to it. They are only a couple dollars. Plus if you ever drop one, even from 6" they love to break.

Picked up a used Hutch and locker for my box yesterday. The locker is for a 1000 series box which is 4" taller than my 7000 series. That's why it hangs low. Not a big deal but it does hit the wheels. Fortunately it's a big deep lip that hits them so it was easily bent out of the way.

How much for the locker

Sent from my iPhone 5s using Tapatalk

Not selling it if that's what you're asking.

Most of the ones I saw and guys I talked to were asking $750-1,500 for a locker.

One hell of a set up ^^ nice find, wish we had more deals around here.

Thanks

They weren't really "around" here. I put on 500 miles getting them.

Now for the crappy part of the deal. Wasn't too impressed when I saw this but at least it's reversible. Needless to say me and the heat gun had a lovely night together. Now time for some adhesive remover for some spots and then I'll buff it.

The sides of Hutch have some as well as the inside of locker and Hutch. Still not a huge deal, good heat gun and a Lil chisler make quick work removing them. Got the locker done in about 20 minutes. Good adhesive remover helps remove the leftover residue. I Use Rapidtac. Then once I hit it with the buffer it'll look brand new again. The locker is only a year old, Hutch is a little older but still immaculate. I actually color sanded the side of my roller cab this summer to get rid of the orange peel the powder coat has and it turned out beautiful. Probably going to do the rest of it as well. After sanding, buff with Flex rotary and tufbuf black wool, with some Menzerna FG400 then final polish with 3401 Flex DA, fine foam pad and SF4000. Seal it all off with Menzerna Power Lock polymer sealant.

I need to get my drawer guards and lips polished to make it look nice and match the locker and Hutch. I removed the drawer guards this summer and started polishing them. They're anodized so they have to be Sanded or use grease less compound then go through the compounding stages. Kind of a pain with the design of them due to the two raised edges. I gave up for now and might get lazy and just buy some polished ones.

I tried removing the lips by sliding them out but couldn't get them to budge. Anybody have any luck removing them? I think at some point I'll add the stainless drawer guards. (the pieces that stick on top of the drawer pull, not the vertical guards I was talking about before). My drawer pulls are pretty beat up and I think they would look nice. Anybody have them and care of share a picture? I'm not big on boxes with tons of stick on Chrome but I think these would be a nice accessory. I was going to double check the measurements but thought about getting the stainless strip the hutch door has and putting it on the locker to fill in the void like they do on the Hutch. Obviously it'll be too long but I gotta check the width.

I originally wanted a locker to store my big 20lb sledge and prybars from 24"-58". Then I realized there's no good way to store them in the locker without completely loosing a ton of space. So my new idea is to make a setup on top of the Hutch. I can lay them down on top of the hutch and design up some sort of system to lock them down at night ideally using the same snap on locks I have. There's threaded inserts up there (I assume for bulk overhead) that I can mount my contraption to.

Anybody ever have troubles changing the lock cores? I got my set of matched inserts today and was able to swap the locker and Hutch very easily but I cannot get my roll cab lock to rotate down to the 4 o clock position in order to remove it. I tried tapping it in with a mallet gently to see if that would help but no dice. Am I SOL and stuck buying a completely new lock for it?

Thanks.

Here's a drawer pic with a drawer pull cover. Polished stainless stick on. I had them on my old KRL on the top two drawers in brushed stainless. The brushed matched the standard KRL trim better. The polished matches the Epiq trim. The polished trim cleans up nice.

You sir are one ******** tool box guy! I'm surprised you didn't keep searching for a locker that fit perfectly. I feel your pain BTW about searching for a locker. I searched a long time to find the "right" locker for my tool box and to make a long story short it ended up being not the right depth! I just said screw it and bought it anyway.

It took me FOREVER to change the locks on my toolbox. Once I finally did it I really learned how the inner workings of the locks worked. Could I do it again?? No.. I don't EVER wanna do it again! I lost my **** doing it.

I might make him stop out. He just drop shipped these to me. He's not too far away, but only stops out when I ask him too because it's just me on our farm. Doesn't pay for him to stop weekly especially since I don't buy a ton from him and always pay cash so he never has bills to collect either.

Thanks for the pic of the trim. I'd be going with the brushed stainless ones.

I didn't want to miss an opportunity waiting out for a krl7012 which is impossible to find. I have no issues with the KRL1012 hanging lower. Just means more storage lol. I would really hate to give up the 29" depth.

For some reason lockers are hard to come by me. It not like I'm in a rural area.. The guy I bought my locker from was a real *****. Lot of miscommunication over the phone and I rented a truck JUST for the locker. Sometimes I'm not happy about not having a 29" depth but I plan on using it to my advance down the road. If I ever get my $$ in order I'll post pics of HOW I use/used it to my advantage. ;)

Can you hang you pry bars on the inside of the door? I've seen a picture here of someone doing similar.
Yes I could but not the longest ones otherwise I would go that route.

How long is your pry bar? Snap ons screwdriver holders for the hutches/lockers can be cut/drilled/modified to hold whatever you want. Or an external pry bar holder on the outside of the box. Don't necessarily have a good pic of how I did mine...

58". I was going to build one on the side of locker but then thought about doing one on top instead. Dk the best approach.
