You're in diesel. What's with the 8pt sockets?
I've only seen it in railroad work.

Drain plugs and a few odd tools that take a square drive to use, used one with an adjustable reamer today. You need a 5/16 for adjusting some truck brakes too.

Got it early last year for work. I can't imagine going back to my old box. My only gripe is the detents aren't very strong on the large drawers on the bottom box, but I also should put shims under the front wheels to keep it a little more level

Got this off craigslist. He was asking 75$ all I had on me was 66$ he took it. I got it home and cleaned and waxed it. I'm happy with it. Not perfect but will more than suit my needs.

Arent those Napa 3/4 inch sockets? They are made by sunex right?
Like the plastic container for the stuff not on rails, gonna steal that...

Yeah, those are all NAPA Sunex. I got that container at Office Depot actually, they have a gazillion different sizes and most of them are less than a dollar, work great :rocker:

I'm an aircraft mechanic and my toolbox is also my workbench. The krl has drawer pulls that extend out and catch every sliver or shaving of aluminum. The epiq is flat down the front leaving nothing but the floor for the little shavings to fall on. It was a major reason I traded it in for an epiq rather than adding a sidebox. Having the ability to swivel all 4 castors was another reason... So far the epiq has solved all my complaints that i had with my kra and krl.

Those Napa sunex sockets in 3/4" I can get those sets for $25 new at a flea market near me. In a metal case. Shallow though.

here is my new to me box from my dad. its a beach lower, diy mark side locker and old snap on top chest. more room = more tools :rocker:

Very cool old school setup.
I'd jump on a bottom box like that if I found one as wide as my top box for sale (currently balancing a 31" Snap-On top box over a 26" Craftsman bottom with a Mac side locker )

Oh just wait. The drawer pulls on the epiq do catch stuff. They love to get stuck where it hinges and its almost impossible to get out without removing the pull. Also your finger nails will leave lines from reaching to grab the handle. Other than that no complaints on my epiq!:rocker:

Well, after browsing and reading here, I decided to check CL before buying a less well known brand new. Picked up this earlier this week. It is a KERN602B. I think I did pretty well. Only drawback is that it was in a body shop, so it is FILTHY (this picture is a bit misleading). Mostly just dust from sanding, but there is a little overspray.

 Yes, I did. I about fell over when I realized what it was. THought it was going to be a Master series or Heritage or something. I've actually given some thought to just trying to flip it and make some money (to fund the upgrade in tools).

Here's the mess that it is replacing.

It's been a long time coming but I grew out of the box on top a long time ago. I had stuff everywhere. I searched everywhere and for everything, Lista, Mac, Matco, Snap On....... Could not pass up this box. 50% off at Sears. My neighbor's got high end stuff, Snap On & Matco this thing feels every bit as sturdy as his Snap On box. I had a little help organising too. She's not in to cars but she likes tools.

I have this same box. I also have the side cab for it. It is awesome! Tons of room and like you said it feels like a much higher dollar cab. I will eventually get a bigger toolbox but i doubt i will ever get rid of my Craftsman Pro cab.

These were made by Waterloo btw so if you ever need parts you have to go through them.

Good to know, it won't see a whole lot of abuse from me though. I spotted this thing a year ago and really liked it. Went back last week and was surprised to see they hadn't sold any. The price had come down another $250 too. They've got three left. If they're there in a year I might buy another one.
