Not Bob, did you get a new box for work or did you leave your place of employment? I like the box. I never knew craftsman made boxes like that. How old is it?

My new KRL cranberry box for the home garage in place.

Nice!

One of the nicer colors. Plus, cranberry roll cabs hold more weight, roll better, drawer slides glide better....

Finally outgrew my 40 year old Craftsman 12 drawer.
Bought a Grizzly combo, cause it was best for fitting in the space allowed.
Also found a great idea on YouTube for organizing wrenches.
Wrap 12 gauge solid core copper wire around a piece of pipe and cut off and many coils as needed for each wrench set. Black for SAE, red for metric.
Cheap, easy, and works great.

CNY Austin. Awesome box. I like the two MAC logos. I actually have a chrome decal on order and was planning on doing the "same" to mind. My drawer layout is slightly different though, so the one logo will be have to be smaller than the other one.

Traded my 526B for a 52611B. Gotta make a new batch of aluminum drawer pulls.

Hey, did you make that frame for your box or was it something you purchased?

Any chance we could see some photos of the contents?

I really like brown wrinkle Kennedy boxes and I've been considering going in the same direction as you, but likely without the top boxes. I was planning on make a butcher block top for mine if I went that way.

Thanks!

Its a maxsimizer MB 1900 its roughly 88" long 27" deep and 46" tall. Im loving it so far the on regret i have is i should have gone with the 2", 4" drawer for the top large drawer instead of the single 6" it has now. its alot of wasted space with my sockets in there.

Can you trade them out?

I put together this pile of stuff for working on stuff away from home (anything from electrical work at the girlfriend's house, fixing a vehicle somewhere other than at home, or who knows what else...). I keep adding stuff to it so I'm running out of room. Need to take out some of what doesn't get used as much if at all.

Box is a Kennedy 220-R.

A little update, I took a few pictures of the drawers. I picked this box up recently to replace my Craftsman chest that was too small. It's a Snap On KRL-1001. I really like the deep drawers. This is what I consider my "mechanic's" box, mostly all auto related tools. That is my hobby at home. I have several other small boxes that I store other tools in - electrical, plumbing, household, etc.

<a href="http://s4.photobucket.com/user/matatk/media/Tools/IMG_20141103_202146032.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y110/matatk/Tools/IMG_20141103_202146032.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_20141103_202146032.jpg"/></a>

Top drawer - those black trays in the middle are from HF and are great for organizing small stuff.

<a href="http://s4.photobucket.com/user/matatk/media/Tools/IMG_2014121839668.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y110/matatk/Tools/IMG_2014121839668.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_2014121839668.jpg"/></a>

I plan on reorganizing the wrenches eventually, maybe use the wire coil method I read about on here. A mix of craftsman, gearwrench, and miscellaneous.

You'll also see my misc screwdrivers in there.

This got delivered today. I had originally ordered a KRL722 in Arctic Silver off the Rock N' Roll Express last month because Blue wasn't an option for the deal. Well my driver has had this KRL1022 Matte Blue with Titanium trim on his truck and we worked our a deal on it instead. It's way more box than I need but isn't that WH we are all here???

On the wrong side of the tracks.
Here is what I mainly work on, a 89 Silverado. Its the first car I bought brand new and its my 11 second terror. Alot of cars have come and gone but this has been with me for the past 25 years and its going no where.

That is absolutely gorgeous. I currently have a garnet red 1989 GMC Sierra SLE Sportside. I hope it looks that good one day. It's not a bad looker right now, but it does have the patina look currently after enduring 25 Texas summers.

I keep thinking about getting a 41" box or a side cabinet for this thing, but I'm not sure if I even really need it. I just want more working space on top, really.

You're not required to shadow your box?

Nope. I was working in the Middle East with a bunch of guys from the EASA world and we all had supplied, shadowed boxes. For them it was pretty standard... I moved back to Canada and was blown away with the lack of care from the companies about tool control. Takes me a bit longer for a tool inventory of my own now.

Shadowed ?

when the drawers are lined with foam with a cut out for every tool, so that every tool has a place and a visual inventory can easily be taken.

my guess is in the aviation industry you dont want a wrench left in a multimillion dollar jet engine, just like in medical theatres, they dont want to stitch you up with a allen wrench inside your new bionic knee.

I get that. Makes tons of sense.
