But, how in the world can four guys work out of this beast with common tools?? It would seem that nothing would ever get put away in the right place or in such a manner that it could ever be found next time needed!!

I get frustrated if I put a wrench back in a holder backwards!!! It would drive me nuts!

Teamwork and cooperation, if I've noticed anything on this forum it's the high percentage of people with an OCD. Personally if I pull out "the box end wrench drawer" I expect to find box end wrenches! But the order in which they've been placed in the drawer makes doesn't keep me awake at night.....I can see it working most of the time, what are the odds of 3 of the 4 guys doing the same job at the same time. That's why I have 34-9/16" wrenches!!! you can just never have to many tools!

Wow now that is purdy!!
Just something about a classic gloss black and silver trim krl that is timeless

Sent from my iPhone 5s using Tapatalk

When I get it loaded and get rid of two other boxes I will take some better pictures.
We are kind of cramped at moment with extra box & stuff not put way waiting for this box to show up.
I will shoot some of the drawers when they get finished. My 69 inch wrench drawer is pretty packed at this point in time.
In the process of converting my Taco box in to a fabrication box to hold those types of tools.

Those vipers are good, but will get dirty quickly.
Why no 44" viper?
They wont get dirty in my garage, maybe just some airborne sawdust.

You mean 41"? They don't make a 44". I do have two matching white 41" boxes I have yet to set up yet. Should have them taken out of their packaging and put together by the weekend.

Did they come like that or did you fabricate an undercarriage to connect them together?
They're not connected. I just pushed them together for the photo. They didn't come in that black and dark grey color scheme either. They normally come with ugly textured silver pulls and 5" rough case wheels.

I had the pulls and side handles powder coated in a dark grey wrinkle, and swapped out the 5" Viper casters for 6" Cornwell smooth black gloss casters.

Your project looks badass! Keep up the good work and PICS!!!
Thanks!

Wow a mk5 cortina front and looks like a mk3 capri rear but need better rear pics. T56 gearbox? Did ya use the automatic gearbox mount and turn it around to face the rear, or make ya own?

The body is an STD Argentinian's "Ford Taunus Coupe".

Is like an Mk5 Cortina but "Fastback".

And about the gearbox mount...mmm, Not, not really

This is pretty cool! I have a soft spot for Kennedy. I don't know how they stack up in comparison to other brands, but my machinist friend seems to love them.

It has heavy duty accuride slides, which i believe are the same ones the tool truck boxes use. I'd like to try out a Snap on KRL box to see how they compare. This box is about as deep as their KRL line. I just pulled all the slides and soaked them purple degreaser. Then oiled with turbine oil. They work really well!

Nooooooo man. 'Action shots'. Drawers open means it's being used and making money. I'll take a tool box in use shot any day of the week :rocker:

It is their tool storage system and they can use it however they so desire. A clean shot of all drawers and doors closed for me will look kool. The 'in use' shot means nothing to me. If anything, it is a disaster about to happen. It is not if, it is when someone is going to regret leaving that many drawers/doors open at one time. Hopefully that is never so, yet why risk it.

Here is mine. Old one was just traded in on the new one. I have a butcher block top on the way for it as well and a Mac cart on order.

I am a pro painter/fabricator so I had out grown the little Mac. I also have 3 or 4 smaller top boxes that will go home to my garage and then I will be adding a Mac MB199UC cart as well so I can store my paint guns, sanders, blocks, hammers and dollies, etc in there and can move area to area easily.

No way I'm getting all the drawers closed. Some slides are jammed and no doubt somebody would walk over and open another before I could get a good pic.

We have a cart with duplicate tools of the common stuff like combo wrenches and sockets.

There's another box that has never had a tool in it before. Limited edition Snapon Medal of Honor. Don't know the model. I guess some guy ordered it then passed away so my boss picked it up on the cheap and here it sits today.

Very clean. Who makes the orange pliers (Matco->channellock) IIRC? Are the Matco screwdrivers Whittes?

All the orange adjustable pliers (in original packaging) and to the left (out of the packaging) are Cornwell (USA), I have Matco (Taiwan) plier sets I haven't added yet. Yes, I believe the Matco drivers are Whittes (Germany), they have nice weight and size to them, solid.
