A Dewalt 52" cabinet was reg $1199 at Canadian Tire. Flyer said $599. Store said 699. After about an hr of arguing. 1800 cust serv. said, you will be getting that for $599.

Nice.
Planning on getting the matching top as well?

Many tool boxes are made by one company for and branded by others. Probably made by one of the classic makers and branded anything from Snap On to Western Auto.

I paid for the entire cabinet from Canadian Tire money. Approx $2-5 / fuel fill up and about 1% on Mastercard purchases. It may be a couple yrs to save for matching top Builttolast.

Hayhauler the green car is 69 Super Bee.

I registered here mostly to share and see tool and garage organizing. I like redbaron's foam cut outs. Steve we arslowly filling the box. Thx for the catalogue.

Hi!

Can anybody help me identify my box?
I can't find very much on it through the investigating I've done and I was hoping somebody might have seen it before. I've attached some photo I've found of similar boxes as well as my own.

Thanks for any help!

Take a picture of the drawer slides. Pull a drawer out to full extension and take a picture of the side. That will help to narrow in on a maker.

Most people could get everything they actually need in those boxes. If you don't buy any tools you can get by without, those boxes will be all you need for a very long time. Most older guys like myself have bought tools for years and we don't want to get rid of anything so we need big boxes but the truth is we don't need a lot of those tools. You have a very nice setup and it's quality stuff.

Alright I believe now its the time to post mine, I'v been waiting because I had alot of tools purchased over the winter. So here it is, 72" wide 22" deep 69" Tall, I believe its a Frontier wich I paid around 3000$ canadian (duties + taxes + shipping + exchange rate) took the handles off and powdercoated them black. I choosed it mainly because I wanted a 72" top and botom and outside the big names here in Quebec Canada, you dont have any choice for 72" top & bottom at a resonable price. The quality of the box is good, nothing incredible but for a home box its more than perfect.

This is a home box and I'm planning to fully build costom cars and motorcycles. I do have more tools to come, slowly switching my cheap tools for Snap On, Mac, Proto... and this box will do untill I move out of this garage I rent and then probably buy a 84" Mac with a hutch and side locker.

My cornwell dealer is trying to sell me a box that has keyless entry. My understanding is that I have a key fob in my pocket and anytime I get father than maybe 10 feet away from my box, it locks. He says they will officially be released next month. Has anyone had a chance to look at one?

It's a cool idea and could be a great tool if done properly, however, I wonder if there is a manual lock that I can use if the batteries die in the key fob.

I agree.

I see lots of Mastercraft/Mastercraft Maximum there, love it.

There is some. Sockets & wrenches are Mastercraft Maximum (professional) made by gearwrench, Few small pliers and the rest is all good tawain or USA.

The cart is all mastercraft. I dont feel the need for better wrenches or socket for now and the convinience of having a CT up the street (litteratly) is easier for me warranty wise. All my tools are paid and I ow 0$ on all of it.

Once I'm set I might upgrate the wrenches for the MAC precision wrenches set, buy the whole gearwrench swivle head wrench sets and switch all my chrome sockets for gearwrench, maybe switch all the sockets for Snap ON after I swap Box if money allows it.

I see you have a lot of gearwrench tools how do you like them? Do you like the screwdriver set you have? Ratchets etc.

Screwdrivers are OK, to be honest they feel like the Mastercraft cheap one. The Mastercraft Maximum series with clear handles are more quality than the GW set, what I find really random is that they included like 2 torx drivers in the set ?!?, I'm slowly switching all my screwdrivers for Snap Ons so this set will end up in my cart and the cheap Mastercraft will become history.

Ratchets are amazing, basically best bang for your buck. I'v tried a few Snap On, Mac, SK.... and honestly, I love the GW, major difference between the professional quality craftman / mastercraft and the GW ratchets. The 84 tooth w/ handles and 120XP are must have if you ask me.

Long reach pliers are extremely useful and well made, no complaints.

The wrenches are amazing, the open part tend to open a little when you use alot of force on em' (and I,m talking major leverage) but for the price its a good starter set before switching on expensive ones.

Files and gasket scrapers are really good, great quality at a good price too I would highly recommended.

Sliding hammer set, pulley tensioner set, and GM fan clutch kit, I haven't used em' yet since I bought them to replace a cheaper version I had.

The one thing I love about the GW stuff is it mostly comes in plastic trays which make the tool box organization way more easier and cleaner (thats a personal preference). Price is fair and they quality matches it for the most part. I wouldn't recommend the screwdrivers that much since I personally don't think they are that worth it, but for a home set it does the job.
