My new toolbox. Sold my top and bottom homak black/gold for the HF 41" because itll give me more options to extend the toolbox out. Plus the HF was a better quality. Overall

Sweet box!:) I came really close to getting a HF chest, they look nice, are well built, and have a lot of storage options. Congrats on the new chest.

I also just got a tool chest (actually 2 of them), they're Torin, and so far I am very happy with them.

Some shots of my shop.
I mainly work in the field 9 hours per day so this is my haven. On the inside of the door from the house to the shop it reads please knock first. The wife loves it...

Hahahaha, look at the computer screen; it's the Torin boxes from a couple posts above!!

Is that a Kobalt chest that you have?

Yes it is. I waiting on the bottom box it's on back order. Only thing is these boxes are very heavy I've owned Craftsman box's in the past. Kobalt boxes come with draw liners and a PVC cover not to mention the slides I my opinion are better the the sears stuff.

Thanks for sharing those pics of your shop and of your Kobalt box. Looking forward to seeing some more pics once you get the bottom box. Kobalt makes some nice tool chests.

Well the bottom box arrived last week and was damaged from shipping so I refused delivery. I had an idea from a "tool catalog" to build a riser over my home made rolling tool bench. So I put myself to task and completed if a an hour or so. I have come to the conclusion that I really like the riser so much that I'm not going to get the bottom box but rather build a new rolling bench...

But I need some ideas for a counter top over my workbench height shelving see earlier post.. Anyone have a idea. I was going to use ready made counter tops. but have decided that they will scratch too easy and I have to keep it nice for the wife also as she spends lot's of time with me in "My Shop"

Well that totally sucked! I hate it when things arrive damaged.

But since a rolling bench will probably work out better for your needs, then in the end everything worked out fine.:)

My Craftsman 4 drawer 26" bottom and 3 drawer middle box and 3 drawer "Rally" box had finally been outgrown and I bought one of the last of this style I've seen at my local Costco. You can just see my old Craftsman in the background. They're still in use (you never really stop using a tool box do you?) as a "project center" and overflow tool storage:

main.php

Contents:

Screw drivers, hex drivers, hex wrenches, hatchets:
main.php

Socket wrenches, socket extensions, torque wrenches, breaker bars, impact sockets, torque limiting extensions and sockets:
main.php

Electronics, Heat Gun, Timing Light, Hammers:
main.php

Pneumatics:
main.php

Fish tapes, bearing pullers, zip ties, OBD2 CAN scanner, LongAcre temp gauges:
main.php

Things that cut, crimp or strip:
main.php

Open end wrenches and wrench extender:
main.php

Things that grip:
main.php

Miscellaneous fasteners:
main.php

Things that measure (several out on "jobs"):
main.php

Drill and screw driver bits:
main.php

Punches, chisels, taps & dies:
main.php

Adhesives:
main.php

Miscellaneous stuff:
main.php

Saw blades (several out on "duty"):
main.php

Staplers, Clamps & vacuum plugs:
main.php

Die grinder bits, impact sockets, pad locks:
main.php

My 3 drawer Rally box has now been replaced with this little number:
main.php

I love this thing! It's got casters on one side, has collapsible legs, a retractable handle for pulling it around and opens cantilever style. This is my new "full time" track box.

Who is the manufacturer of this ? I wonder because of the sticker with the "GS" ("Geprüfte Sicherheit") on it ! From germany ?

You are correct. The company that originally imported them has gone out of business and I picked this one up at Overstock.com for $99! They're available from another importer now but for $249+S/H.

After about 30 years of use, I'm finally going to retire my old RemLine tool box. This box has truly served me well :(
Here she is, in all her glory.....
CIMG4108.jpg

Here's one of the overstuffed drawers...
CIMG4106.jpg

All the rest are the same, packed to the gills. It was starting to be a bit of a pain. looking for stuff.

Anyway, I saved up all my nickles and dimes, from scrapping copper, aluminum, steel and such. Then went out shopping. First of all, I knew I couldn't come close to affording a Snap-on, Matco. So, I looked at the boxes at Home Depot, Lowes, Sears and Harbor Freight.......

Anyway, after a whole lot of deep thought, looking at quality, price, the winner is.......
CIMG4110.jpg

Harbor Freight.

With it being on sale and using a 20% coupon, I got it for $320. I tried using another coupon, to bring it down to $300, but, they didn't bite :)

This tool box is awesome, ball bearing glides, drawer liners, heavy duty and most of all...spacious. What's even more amazing, is that I started moving some tools over from the old box and I'm finding tools that I forgot I even had :bounce:

On the minus side, I have to find room for it. Shoot, it's about as big as my garage :headscrat

Buck, I'm not going to retire it totally. I'll probably move it to my basement shop and use it as a machinist chest, to go along with my old Logan lathe and my old Enco mill :)

I am very glad to hear that. I hate it when good old tools just go to waste. Great that you have a plan.

I took a few more pics of my new Torin boxes. I am very impressed by the quality of construction, and the drawers slide out with ease, even when fully loaded.
