My first post here... been lurking around these forums for about a year now. Decided to register and get better access. lol.

Ive been going through this thread for useful ideas on how to organize my soon to be here Waterloo PCH-266RD chest.

(My rule is on my tools.. 100% must be made in USA. Looks aren't all that important but I won't deal with flaky chrome. Ow..)

I currently stuff all my tools in a Craftsman 3-drawer metal toolbox. (one of the rare Made in USA models before they shipped production to Mexico)

Needless to say.. its full to the rim and then some. lol. I have to move stuff around just to get stuff out of it.

So, hopefully... later today.. I will have pictures for ya'll of my 3-drawer and then later this month or EARLY June I will have a picture of the Waterloo. I had it custom ordered and will be picking it up myself from Sedalia, MO at their plant.

Yeah, I'd have gone extreme green for that much extra. I asked about keyless entry but its 600 and only for the box itself. Hutch and locker still manual key. Seemed kinda stupid at that point. I'm getting free drawer guards too.

After a lot of back and forth I picked up this 47" Mastercraft Maximum on clearance this weekend. $507cdn taxes-in or around $400USD. Build seems a lot like the Montezuma my friend has, probably the same factory?

Plan is to remove casters and integrate into a 24" deep work bench along the entire back wall angling in to the steps. Cabinets/shelving up high and pegboard or slots for hanging. Relocating the hydrant to the front on the garage soon.

Heres my kit.. lol all stuffed into one box..
The Box...

The top storage... (I have like 35-40 wrenches, a 10 ton puller, a quick grab socket/ratchet set and a bunch of odd and end stuff up there..

Top drawer as it sits when you first pull.. That vise grip = Made in USA Dewitt model.. Love it. Anyway, due to lack of room.. everything is just kinda sorted as best I can with limited space...

Same drawer with the Channellock snap ring pliers removed... Its my 1/4" drive drawer and screwdrivers etc..

My 3/8" drive drawer.. with some 1/2 drive spill over.. again- I lack room! lol

1/2 drawer... now.. I have this organized oddly.. Under the ratchets/blue shop towel is my full 1/2 drive craftsman USA dual marked deepwell set. Beside it I have an SAE deepwell set from 1/2" to 1" all G-Series (not G1 or G2, Just G) and I got them NOS 2 months ago. Then the rest is all standard or dual marked 12pt 1/2 drive sockets with some 6pt sockets in the more used sizes.

Anyway, this is why I am getting a new toolchest from Waterloo.

PS- I got my Craftsman Premium Ratchet set for $90 brand new from E-bay. 3/8" is KAC, 1/2 and 1/4 drives are KAD.

HF 44" box, with the 7 drawer side. I've owned it 4 years wrenched out of it every day. For the money, cant beat it. This is just the top drawer, every one is full like this.

The impact set is a new ADV set from matco, from 5/16" to 1-1/2". Not sure I'll ever use a 5/16" 1/2" drive impact socket, but I can say I have one!

You cant see it in the pic, but theres a long handled flex head snap on 1/2" drive, and 1/4-1/2" extensions from 2" to 24" in the front of the drawer as well.

Well I finally got me a good box to put my major hand tools in to complement my two 26" craftsman roll aways.


As you can see I still need to do some organization. There's too much wasted space.

Did you buy the drawer liner or it came with it?

The drawer liner was included with the box, it is the best type I've used. It is fluid resistant, padded, doesn't nick easily and very grippy on both sides.

The piece on top of my box has been there for 2 years and has had hot parts dropped on it, hydraulic oil, fuel and solvent spilled on it. The one thing they absolutely do not tolerate is having tape stuck to them and then peeled off, it rips the top covering off.

How tall are you slc97? I'm 5'11, the stainless top on my home 7022 is just right. I'm too short for a 1022 and stainless, you must be 6'5+ to use that top on an epiq?

I'm 6'1". The Epiq series is definitely tall, my favorite height box is the 1022 line. My buddy has a 7023 and he loves the height but he is also 5'7".

Thanks for the comments! I took a risk buying an Epiq since no one else had one to test out, it has been a fantastic box. The sound of the drawers closing makes me smile.
