Yes. No extra charge. I swapped out the 10" deep drawer in the skinny bank for two 4"'s and one 2".

All I can say is the Epiq locker is heckova lot nicer than a KRL locker. Having only one stationary shelf and the rest roll out drawers makes it nicer to use.

******** thats a nice set up doc.
Do you have any pics with the hutch open?

mines only a 68" with no locker and its heavier than Id want to push around more than a few times a year. Getting it started is usually no issue but getting it stopped can be tricky.

I learned that the hard way

I put mine loaded on a uhual trailer last week :scared:

What size epiq? My 84 when the locker is on there is 9 feet long and 1650 empty full i guess would be a small buick. Not easy to start rolling or stop quick

I often wondered that. My lawnmower lives behind my KRA4107. (That's a 40" box, 20" deep for those that don't know.) I have the drawer section and a Craftsman 26" box on top. It's already heavy to move, and I only need to move it 2 feet to get the mower out. I figured the casters on the bigger boxes can't be that much better.

To the guys with an Epiq hutch how does it attach? I've been wondering for a while now. I know you need the work surface but what holds it together?

It attaches to the work top with screws.

Lockers and overheads attach to the hutch with machine screws.

Its neat, but I recon since its a MAC it out of my budget for a home box.

It's a Mac MB1004. Got a good deal on it, still a good chunk of money but definitely worth it to me. I didn't have a choice on colour but I actually really like the flat black. Too many red and "extreme" green boxes lately.

I like that they toned down the badging on them now, and the ones on the flat black are a subdued, black chrome colour. I'm somewhat of a minimalist, this box suits that. More than enough space to last me a while too, I don't collect 9 pairs of needle nose or need 20 hammers and a full drawer of screwdrivers to work efficiently.

First off that is one beautiful box.

Secondly just so I'm on the same page with you; you drill into your $1000+ work surface with screws putting holes in it?

hell yeah! I know gravity would likely keep the hutch in place, I didn't buy it to have it ever shift apart from moving or to have the pieces in pristine un-drilled condition for re-sale purposes, I bought to use and be comfortable I will be using it for a long time......If I do trade it in, then those holes are the next guys problem if they take the hutch off.....more likely I will add on to it and never take that hutch off of the bottom box.....

They give you a nice template to use for drilling too. Holes don't bother me, hutch is never coming off as long as I own it.

although I do not have an epiq box (just a KRLXXXX), I opted to not bolt my hutch back down through my stainless topped butcher block. My first krl1023 had a warped top, causing the stainless that is glued to the butcher block to pop loose, causing an annoying click/clack when working around the top of the work area.

with my replacement 1023, I just opted to rest the hutch on there. my box doesn't move but maybe once every year or two, so shifting isnt as much a concern.

I admire a lot of the Snap On Boxes I have seen on this thread, However since I am at retirement age, No way am I going to spend the money to purchase any of these newer boxes. Unless I hit the lottery.

I have flirted with the idea of epiq several times. Came very close to buying a 68". In the ended I didn't see it as a big enough jump in space over my 1022. I really wish they made a true triple bank based off the 68" so a 92" box. Now that my 1022 is home and I have an entire shop to store tools, going to a bigger box seems silly now. At work going bigger isn't really in option. The tool room where our boxes are kept isn't very big. I had to grease my classic 60 up to wedge it in its spot. Compared to all the 26" craftsman combos, I have the biggest box at work now anyways.

I went from a 7022 to a 68" Epiq. The 7022 being one less set of deep drawers compared to your 1022. It was a big jump in space for me and I love it. Pictures really don't do the Epiq's justice since most people see a double bay box and consider them all about the same size.
Only picture I have comparing the two.
