Try an extreme tool box. I have always wanted to know how they hold up...i could have spent half what i did on my cornwell and had a huge badass set up. i just dont know how they hold up..never seen one in real life.

Love my extreme 56" and still like new after few years of use.

I went from a 7022 to a 68" Epiq. The 7022 being one less set of deep drawers compared to your 1022. It was a big jump in space for me and I love it. Pictures really don't do the Epiq's justice since most people see a double bay box and consider them all about the same size.
Only picture I have comparing the two.

I know the 68" is actually a lot more comparable to a 72" krl vs my 1022. Big thing was for me was stuff would be basically organized the same, just more room in each drawer. I'd really like more drawers as the 1022 was just the base of my storage. I had a kra62 on top full of stuff. A Kennedy roll cab full of stuff. Shelves under an 8' bench full of stuff. I think a 68" with a top chest would have solved my needs, but then again a top box for my box would be a big gain. Had I stayed at the dealership, I probably would have done something. If I had dealership jumped, I most certainly would of had to do something as I don't think I could of organized in a new shop the way I did at the old. One thing I want in a new box is a drawer that can hold my 5' prybars. A 68" can do that, but since I don't want the power drawer, a 84" can't.

Apples to oranges comparison. Your buying circumstances are different. Boxes are cheap and plentiful in the States compared to UK and Australia. In Australia, most folks eschew Snap On (no Mac, Matco, Cornwell to compete against) boxes for much cheaper makes. Think Clarke/Sealey. There is still a cachet in Australia to owning American tools but as in the U.S (if GJ is any reference) this will probably decline too.

First off that is one beautiful box.

Secondly just so I'm on the same page with you; you drill into your $1000+ work surface with screws putting holes in it?

yes sadly you have to drill 4 holes into your worktop surface.

i was told i had to drill into the worktop to my box as well from under the drawer as well. but i never did to secure the worktop to the box

Here's a couple better pics of my 60" Epiq. I added a second handle for hanging my jacket, also all 4 wheels can caster so it makes it nice to be able to drive from either end.

I push my box all over the Hangar and while it rolls easily the casters are absolute garbage. The are out of round and make a racket when moving across the beautiful smooth epoxy floor. We have all turned our casters down on the lathe and cut a mild crown in them. This helped greatly although they are still safety wire and rivet magnets. The lower durometer wheels on the Classics are much better. I warrantied a set before realizing that they were ALL out of round...pretty disappointing for an $11k box.

I also added a floor lock, the disc brake style caster locks hold extremely well but they are a pain to release.

I recently ordered a 68" Epiq in candy apple red with a power top and two 4" drawers ppposed to the four 2" drawers.

Hopefully this box will be with me for the remainder of my career...which I hope is a long time!

84 is the exact same as a 68 without the power bank.

84 for can have a 3rd section of drawers or a power bank, it's your choice.

The 76 or whatever it is is smaller than the 68. I think it's 60 wide plus the 3rd

The 84" that is all drawers is based off the 60". An 84" with the power cab is based off the 68. To have a box with the 62" top drawers, and the 36" wide main bank, the box would have to be 92" wide to have three banks of drawers. Last years catalog was a misprint saying the 84" had the wider drawers. The narrow banks are the same between a 60" and the 68". The difference is in the long bank.

I started flipping items when I was 18, tools, toolboxes, anything worth value. I'm 19 now with an Epiq and tools, with $0 owed. Happy to say I've only stepped on a Snap-on truck twice.

I used to do this with car stereo equipment while I was in college. I used to be familiar with Alpine and Kenwood model numbers and would find the ones with simple ads. When I'd sell them, I'd mention all of the features and made $50 with each unit. By the time I graduated college, I had my CD changer, 3 amps, subs, ADS speakers, and AudioControl equalizer all ready for the Porsche 944 I was planning to buy when I graduated. Be reminded that this was 1986 when most people didn't even have CD players at home.

For you guys talking about moving the epics, I moved mine around the outside of the dealership and rolled it across 5 lanes of asphalt and down the sidewalk a few doors. That was fun. And yes my wheels are out of round too.

And p.s., I turned down the locker "deal". Doubling my current interest rate is not very smart. I'm looking at a gladiator type locker. Couple side jobs and it's paid for.

3/8" Drive drawer, again from before the addition of all the 1/2 drive stuff so there wasn't any overflow.
