It's a great experience to hold on to your first real tool box...I've had my KR1000 for 25 years and will only part with it when I'm dead.

Nice! Your's is much prettier than mine. I use mine almost daily.

That's awesome, father and son on here. My dad is way too practical to hang here with a bunch of tool junkies. And there's the Internet phobic thing, too....

Two Beach boxes, $450. Was going to go stateside to replace my 3-piece 27" toolbox from Harbor Freight, but with the dollar the way it is, it wouldn't make sense.
Going to combine the top box in the first picture with the bottom box in the second picture.

Both boxes are barely used, good shape, have original keys. Top one needs a crease cleaned up the fold lid, but that's it.

I've really been liking the Beach boxes that I've seen posted here on GJ recently. Sure wish they had a US presence .... although it's my understanding they can be shipped to the US directly from the Canadian Beach factory.

These are still sold in australia as White International boxes. I had that bottom box a few years ago and thought it was very well made with good castors and good draw slides. The one thing that bugged me was the pull out cover section, other than that i think they are great. They do a side locker with drawers or cupboard that is excellent value too

I really like the idea of the fold out covers, I'm used to it with my current tool storage! I missed out on a VERY nice Mastercraft Professional 2-piece set that sold for $550 the day before, even had a drawer on the lower box that was meant for your wallet and other personal belongings that had an entirely separate key to lock it!

Similar to this, but the top box was full-depth, no space in front like these two. Had roller bearings, no paint defects, looked like it hadn't been used!

Hey guys, more pics of INSIDE my box. Working late tonight, so I took some pictures, some are multiples of same drawers. Didn't feel like pulling everything out and taking pictures of everything desperate. Any questions just ask

So there my box. I hope they all load up fine, and I don't have to do it over. Side lockers will be ordered someday. Hopefully before January. I have all my buffing and polishing equipt. In a plastic tote. I'd like to use one locker for that, and the other for mechanical things.like what's on top of the box, and the bottom drawers. Any ideas how to better organize this mess?

Dmoen I like how you have separate tool boxes with your specialty tools in them.

Thanks man. I really dislike how a lot of stuff comes in plastic bags now instead of cases. Especially stuff like oil pressure gauges and dial indicators. I found these cheap little tool boxes at Walmart for under $4 each.
I wish they made something a little deeper then the standard fishing tackle box, but wide open and not clear. Can't find much like that though.

This is my current set up at work,

Just until this comes in :D:D

Nice!! What's the model number there?

Nice!! What's the model number there?

My rep told me it was a new version of the KRL7023 they are coming out with. I will have to confirm the model number when the box arrives. That picture is from the show snap on had in Washington DC a few weeks ago. I couldn't find that box on Snap on's website anywhere yet.

OK, I just have to comment here on the prices for a tool box. I do not want to start a word war here at all, but what I have to say may anger some of you.

Here goes How in the world can anyone pay $6000 for a metal box with some drawers. You can get a awlful nice used car for that. Two top notch hunting rifles for that money. Lots of things that actually took some capital and time to make. But a tool box, really.

OK I vented, I know they bring that much, but they aren't worth that kind of money. Enlighten me on this topic. Sorry if I offended some of you but I just can see it.

I am sure the answer is different for each of us... I already have enough used cars.... and for me I wouldn't spend a dime on a rifle..... when there are sooooo many more tools to buy!!!

And at this point in my tool obsession a $6000 tool box is just pennies compared to all of the other tools I own.

Well, I do this for a living. I spend more time awake here then.I do awake at home. In do not have an office. This is my "home", my "office". This tool box does more then just hold tools. Customers really appreciate a tech with QUALITY tools working on their vehicles. Over the HF guys. Also, I have Damn near 30" deep drawers. A driver that comes to me minimum every other week, or as I call. Warrenties ANYTHING I have ANY issues with. Options are endless....

I have one question... do you question people on why buying a nice built house over a Mobil or trailer house? I understand it's Apple's to oranges, but in the same aspect it's very similar. If I'm going to buy something, for long-term daily use, it is.going to be the best I can afford.

You make a good point. Another way to look at it is that with the space in this box I can organize a whole lot better. I have sockets and wrenches everywhere in my current HF box. That better organization is going to save me time. And time is money when you do this for a living. This box will pay for itself well within its service life.

Ok I seemed to not made my point.
I think the Snap-on tool box is way over priced for what you get. There is a running engine, computers, etc in a car. I just don't believe that it cost that much to make the box. What is the manufacturing cost verse the paying price.

So thank you both for your kind replies. My question is I don't think the box cost that much to make for what they sell for. What is the mark up 600%, 1000% That is why I feel it is a rip off.

For example we had a Kirby vacuum salesman come to our house years ago to deminstrate a Kirby for us. The price was $1000 for the vacuum. We wouldn't buy it because it cost too much. The guy actually kept lowering the price until he quit at $300 and we still didn't buy it. We already had one and didn't want another one. See what I mean. The Kirby wasn't worth $1000 to us but the guy kept lowering the price until he stopped at $300 rediculas mark up on it. They could sell it for $300 and make money.

It doesn't matter what the cost to manufacture is, it's what someone is willing to pay that matters. Supply and demand, they'll lower the price when people stop buying them. They don't have that problem though, and sell them as fast as they make them.

Everybody has their "thing" that they will pay top dollar for and will not settle for half a loaf. For many people here it is tool boxes. For others it may be a Les Paul guitar, shoes, a nice suit, a Ming Dynasty vase, whatever.

Whatever the "thing" happens to be, they will find a way to justify it anytime somebody calls them a dumba$$ for paying top dollar for an item most people could care less about.

You spend your money the way you want and I will spend mine the way I want. I paid less then half for my brand new $6000 box 10 years ago. I have no plans of replacing so it will very easily out last me. Given 60 years, I think I will recoup my cost.

Although a toolbox only holds the tools, for a pro it becomes a tool. Regardless of who the manufacturer is, this tool can and at times will need service. Having a box from the truck guys makes service/upgrades easier and faster, speed equals money.
Compare landscapers/contractors, they spend money on top of the line equipment from dealers they know they can get good and fast service from. They buy new trucks and good quality trailers because they are tools that help earn the living.
Sure some guy starting out will make do with less but in the end we all look to upgrade to stuff that is less likely to brake.

When I bought my enclosed trailer I had many options. I bought the best I could afford at the time, it has served me well (it was used as a tool to hold tools for many years and still is today) and to this day I can get parts from the manufacturer.
