Hi all, newb here. I just wanted to show some love to us DIYers. Getting tired of seeing all of the pro boxes and tools here. About time someone shows what an amateur box looks like. I haven't seen a DIY box in hundreds of pages. Used to be common early in the thread. Notice I needed to label my 7 drawer box. I don't know how you pros with the 40 drawers remember where things are! Specs: new Husky 100lb drawer box (not the ghetto 50lb!), C-man and HF mostly. I do light wrenching on our 2 cars and my motorcycle. Nothing major has happened yet, and I'm ok with that. I detail my car. I fix things around the house. I have lots of hobbies and interests and try to do things myself because no one works on MY stuff better than ME. Do you think my Husky box is as good as the Snap On I almost bought? jk. Enjoy the pics. Yes, I think this post is as funny as you do.

Right on!!! I'm a DIY'er myself. My box looks nothing like theirs, although, I now have a few Listas and Vidmars, thanks to this board. Lol

Hmm, I have the (much) older version of that roller, only mine has 4 split drawers not 6. decent box, but mine is killer overloaded...

I only magnetic labeled mine on the main Mechanic's box when I started sending my kids to chase tools for me, so when I say "it's in the screwdriver drawer" they get it...

Mind you I have well over 200 drawers counting all the boxes... Very few other than the main box have labels...

ps: Nice looking roller!

So I'm 18. I worked at a agriculture dealership on equipment and got laid off so now working at the farm. The box is a Tool Vault 72" Elite. Sockets, wrenches- gearwrench. Ratchets, screw drivers, prybars- matco. Cornwell impact and sockets. Wondering what you guys think? I've used money from raising 4H cattle projects. Don't have a full pic of the box so heres one off of the interne. Mine is black. uploadfromtaptalk1443009276514.jpg]uploadfromtaptalk1443009287232.jpguploadfromtaptalk1443009299471.jpguploadfromtaptalk1443009318776.jpguploadfromtaptalk1443009348889.jpguploadfromtaptalk1443009360134.jpg

Yeah. Work got really slow so able to work whole harvest season at home. I got all the truck brand stuff through student discounts each company has. I got the locking flex head 1/4" ratchet from matco Retail-$124 I paid $56 through the student program. Just to give you an idea of the savings I got for all the truck brands

i could pretty much guarantee, if i hadnt been wrenching on const eq for the past 30 years, my garage wouldnt be full of SO boxes, and i wouldnt have spent the amount of money i've spent on tools over the years.

as far as remembering what drawer stuff is in, just remember most of us are in and out of drawers and cabinets all day long grabbing tools.
in my case my boxes have been organized pretty much the same way for 25 years or so.

congrats on your new box :bounce:

I am not sure if I have recent shots on here or not. But here is my masterforce 41 inch at work. I am an industrial maintenance tech.

Left side I built a holder for consumables and such out of diamond plate, also hang my helmet on there.

Right side I built a prybar holder also a cabinet to hold my 2 way radio and charger to keep it locked up. And put a hook on it to hang my pouch which covers 90 of the stuff I need for calls.

Top is pipe wrenches and big Crescent and my gloves, pop, cell phone and whatever else get thrown up there throughout the day.

Top drawers are odds and ends and screwdrivers.

Next two drawers are pliers, channies to the left and specialty stuff to the right. The welpers throw off my color coding.

Next two drawers are hammers and crescents.

Next is hex stuff and fabricating tools.

Next is sockets and rats.

Catch all with a bit of everything, drill bits, tap and die set, pass through sockets, specialty screwdrivers (hex and torx) extractors, and on the right chisels and punches in a Plano box and hook and pick set.

They perform wonderfully in a high use and abused environment. Some acuse me of being a fan boy but the proof is in the pudding.

I've only been working as a diesel tech proffesionaly for just over a year now, I've been buying tools for many years though. Here we go:

Well everyone has seen my work box setup a ways back. Here's my box at home. I do some small engine stuff at home for some.extra cash every once in a while. This box needs a cleaning bad!! Here's some pics. Btw, the box was 1k new, used it for about a year at the shop. It need a quite a few sets of bearing slides. Does not hold up well extremely loaded, with tons of use. Will be great for at home use. But I hate the top box. will sell that and buy another chest. And build a bench on top.

Got this the other day, working on getting it organized how I want... Having drawers twice as deep as you're used to makes a huge difference!
