Had this Craftsman box about 8 years now. It has been excellent but I really need more space!

If that wasn't red I'd say it was perfect because you still have somewhat of a work surface but yet have more storage now. The best of both worlds

How do the slides work on that with the drawers being right beside each other?
Now you just need to get matching lock cylinders to match your lower box. Or just get a new one for you lower box to match the top

Buy it.........best box made for under $1000

Tops were $50 at Sears outlet saving you another $100........time is running out!

The box is a beast compared to my 46". Much taller and a whole lot wider. The long drawers are awesome for your wrenches and sockets.

How is your top socket drawer? Do you have any issue getting socket out of the back of the toolbox?

For the price you cant beat it. also their limited lifetime.

The slides work fun although they do need some a lil bit of lube...
The reason i picked it up was i'm not a fan of chests that open from the top because now u lose the ability to pit other things on top (like a hutch) not to mention it was a good fair deal imo. I was comtemplating the new dewalt 52" top chest but again i hate that u cant put anything on top of it and that it was only 18" deep. This one is 22"

Avplayer, I don't get it, It looks like two new in the box with plastic on them Bostich air nailers laying in the trash behind your tool box.
So is that a middle box? How wide is it?

Haha well it reminds me of my fathers toolbox and any of mine I had growing up along with 90% of people on this site probably have or started out with those craftsman boxes. I know we always had those things packed to the max. Some of those thin drawers wouldn't shut all the way sometimes because you would have so much stuff in there!!

I am not super OCD (ok, maybe a little) but I passed on a good deal on the same top box in mint shape because it was that belair blue and would have not looked good on my black box.

Please do. When i ordered mine i was told it was only available in red black or blue. I ordered a blue one and had it custom painted green to match.
