If you mind me asking, what was the up charge to get the sapphire blue paint?

I talked to a local snap on dealer that said he has never seen or heard of this color and he doubted me that this color was even possible to get! :dunno:

It's about 2000.00 I paid about 200.00 you better find a dealer that knows some thing before you start speaking a 20K box retail

The black tool cart on the right is that the Husky 33in. ? And how do you like it?

It's the harbour freight. It's a great cart. My co worker bought a $800 snap on cart and asked me how much I paid for mine. When I told him I paid about $100 for it he wanted to return his cart. Lol

How stable is the mobile cart with the side box attached?

It is very unstable, if I push on it, it tips over. I just have it like that until I buy metal to make a new base for it.

Swap the casters so the fixed are between the box and the cart and the side box, then put a heavy weight, be it a sand tube or a chunk of steel on the far left hand side (over the swivel wheels). That will help to offset the moment of the side cabinet.

I thought about it that way but I did not like how the box was held on to the roll cart so a new base was the best option. I just had to wait till the local metal supply place opened

Just got this. $100 off for a sale price of $199. Rebranded montezuma box (for menards like their other boxes) this will be the box in my shed and double as a "hey can you fix this" road box.

Couple dings and one chip in the paint. Pretty good deal of you ask me.

Loaded it up with some of the made in the USA/Germany goodies I got at menards during the 15% off bag sale

Still lots of room in there

I have the HF 4 drawer but husky has a 33in. 4 dr. now that i have been eyeing. Wanna get one of those husky ones too.

Have you checked into the NAPA cart? I have one of theirs and it is very nice, high quality cart and looks almost identical to the one Hopalong604 posted in his picture.

Mike.

Picked this up last night from CL. 1981 KR-274A. In well used shape, but still very solid. All drawers are present and the slides are good. The lock is broken but the mechanism is still there. I plan on doing a light cleanup/strip and painting it black to match my 56".

Thanks. The bottom is solid. Slight surface rust, no holes other than factory mounting holes. It won't need new slides, just a clean/lube. Do you happen to know your key number code or can you meausre the lock? I'm trying to replace it and I need that based on the eBay ads I've found.

Thank you for the heads up, but they are actually just detached and sitting on that shelf.

The lock itself is snapped off, so I don't have anything to compare it to.

ah i see em now...:eyecrazy:

sears sells a replacement lock, set of 3

couple of my side boxes have replacement locks in them.

Hey Chief -

Your picture above of the locking mechanism was perfect. It jogged my memory and reminded me that I had a new extra drawer lock in my parts bin. Just pulled it out and installed it and it fits perfectly  The old one in there was the wrong lock and had a bolt and about 8 washers holding it on :dunno:

The packaging was gone, but I'm pretty sure this is the lock size I used ( I know I bought it at HD and it didn't fit the project I originally bought it for, hence it was never installed) :

That's a neat little carry box. I have several older Craftsman (etc) boxes, and I like to fill each one with different tools/accessories/specialties (ie, plumbing, electrical, etc) so when I do a small job I just grab the box and I'm all set.

Here's my box. Picked it up 2 weeks ago off craigslist. I like the drawer layout a lot better than my old craftsman box.

It seems like it took forever to get it cutout but it sure is nice knowing where everything is and if anything is missing.

I was going to use my Dremel but I'm not quite sure exactly where it is. So I used my router instead.

What makes you say that? I mean there's positives and negatives to doing it but I don't feel like you can beat the organization and knowing exactly where every tool is and if something is missing.

My stuff wouldnt fit if I laid it out like that. I am happy with getting it back to the right drawer.
A couple the small drawers is specialty wrenches I try to keep out of general circulation but it sets out of the way and mostly extra.

Whatever works for you is always the best solution.

I got tired of looking for tools and having my box drawers/tools banging around.

Plus if you're stuck under a vehicle you can ask anyone to get a certain tool and its right there in its place. No cussing, no fussing.
