What makes you say that? I mean there's positives and negatives to doing it but I don't feel like you can beat the organization and knowing exactly where every tool is and if something is missing.

I'm only talking for me personally. For all the tools I have I would need a couple quadruple bank tool boxes in order to do that. Also I get different tools and sometimes get rid of ones from time to time so that would be another main reason. It would constantly need changed
If I worked at a place and didn't need a lot of tools and always used specific ones only I could see how that would work great.

My stuff wouldnt fit if I laid it out like that. I am happy with getting it back to the right drawer.
A couple the small drawers is specialty wrenches I try to keep out of general circulation but it sets out of the way and mostly extra.

I grew up around automotive mechanics and have spent most of my career around large aircraft. The aircraft mechanics I'm around usually work more on specific areas (or check their tools out for a job). So they aren't constantly adding tools like the automotive guys. Also the aircraft guys have to account for every tool right after each job. Having them shadowed speeds that up.

It's an air nozzle, I think the tip was called a typhoon or something like that, actually has 3 outlets. Can't think of it off the top of my head, but it moves a lot of air.

Ground pounder- I need to finish organizing them, I just don't have time.

Well, taking the top drawer pics on my taller box required using my box as a ladder. 400lb drawer capacity, using it as a ladder doesn't phase me.

Sadly I'm stuck working out of this thing for awhile till I bounce back from getting laid off back in November. Packed top to bottom with tools, and probably weighs 500+lbs at this point lol.

Stor-Loc!!!

I have seen their boxes at farm shows, but always thought the pricing was steep. The fliers at the booth always advertise "50% off farm show special," but even the special price is awfully steep; especially for a product that is not a name brand. High quality, but does not have the brand recognition or resale value of truck brands.

So, I must ask: Where did you buy from and what was the price? I don't see any mention of dealers on the website, but I am interested in an MM7.

Got the wrenches from Case (where I work)

As for the boxes, I bought them directly from Stor-Loc in Kankakee, IL. Custom powder coat and custom drawer layout at no extra charge. As for the price...I don't really remember what my MM8 cost (exact same as MM7 just different drawer layouts), but the MM4 (or 3, I don't remember which it is) was about $3000.

When you consider that these boxes are comparable to SO's Epiq series, they're a steal! I actually use it as a ladder more than I care to admit (climbing up on a 400 series excavator gets rough after a while) so the 400lb drawers are wonderful. Mike Ryan is the man to talk to, he's more than willing to go the extra mile for customers. The casters that came with my MM8 had crappy brakes, when I was talking to Mike about a second box, he gave me a new set that they're trying out, I guess I'm one of the first people to have them. I absolutely love the boxes and the organization ability is just plain awesome.

Tell him Drew Van Der Weide sent you...on second thought, you'd probably butcher my last name to the point he wouldn't recognize it, haha.

Thanks, I hope I don't outgrow my new box as fast as I did my last...didn't even make it a year with my SO KRSC43...well...I still have it, I suppose I could work out of 3 boxes, hahaha.

Not Lista, they're Stor-Loc, made in USA with all USA components unlike Lista.

And as for the 6.0, that thing is a *************...my 6.0 on the other hand is about to roll over 200k without any major work, other than bulletproofing. However, the ****** is getting a little tired.

Ah, I think I remember you posting them a few pages back too? If you don't mind sharing, how did they compare price wise to the lista boxes?

I've seen those storlocks at the farm shows and they are nice units. They make some real monsters too, I think close to Mr Big size. I'd take one of their units over Lists anyday because they seem to be a little more into toolboxes vs slapping casters on a parts cabniet.

They're getting there. Mike openly admits that they're still changing and adapting their boxes. I believe he said they're still in the experimental stage. They've got one box that would put Mr. Big to shame. When I picked my last one up they were loading it up for a show. I believe it was 15ft long.

How do you like the Ernst rails? I was looking at those, but Sears has the Gearwrench rails on sale and I could make a plate to hold them all together. I already have a set of Gearwrench sockets so I'm part way there.

I am actually switching all my organizers over to Ernst, great product and love the flexibility. If you decide to go with them stay away from Amazon, way over priced, especially the extra socket clips, go to ML Tools or Summit Racing, great service and pricing.

Thanks! The look great, I may just need to bite the bullet on them.

I think once it's all done a 3 rail set and a tray from Ernst ( through ML Tools or Summit Racing ) will run about $18, not too bad, and may be cheaper than the same set up from Gearwrench.

I never once considered the possibility of hanging tools on the back of the toolbox. Great idea !!!! Thanks.

That was a no brainer for me, I had to put those big *** prybars somewhere, then I just got a little creative. I stuck the grease gun there because I'd rather have grease on the outside of my box as opposed to the inside.

I swear I have a problem, just bought this red snap on box with a proto side box and I don't even have tools to fill it, but too cheap to pass.

You and me both!

I bought this tonight because I couldn't say no (see vintage toolbox thread):

I bought a snap on sidebox last week that I'm in the process of stripping/repainting. I need to stop the madness.

Snapon double bank with side cab, it looks decent from the front but it has been through a shop fire and flood and been repainted. It has history, was my dads first nice snapon box, then my brother inherited it, now me. I will buy a new box in a couple years but this one won't be traded in.
