Tremek that box is a 661. I have a 761 and its taller and not as deep. For a 22 year old box my 761 is still like new.

A work in progress, love this box! I have another tool box where I keep my spare sets and misc items, only quality items make it in the Snappy. Although I'm a mechanic and use my tools (the ones at work anyway, this is my home box) at this point I can't deny that I am a collector. There are worse things to spend money on! I just hunt classifieds all day every day, not much here was purchased anywhere near retail.

Nice!! That is the new Masters Series box with the "KTL" prefix right? I'm really digging those with the three 50" drawers. If I ever upgraded from my double bank KRL and didn't go Epiq...I would go with the same box you have there. The black trim makes many of the colors look so much nicer IMO. My Yellow SO box has black trim and my next one will as well.

Looks like a newer version of mine krl761

I had a KRL761bpev, purple. Never see purple. Even googling for the number there's no results. I found it on craigslist in 2006 for $1300. I used it for 5 years, and traded it in at the end of 2011. Snap on dealer gave me $3900.

Nice setup bmk!

Thanks zk. That's my office's. One of the guys I work with is retiring at the end of next month after 30+ years in the trade. At that point he is selling all his tools to the young man who is taking his position. I asked him how he felt about parting with his tools after all those years. He said that he'll never use them again and they shouldn't just sit there and rust. I see his point but my tools are like my kids. We've been through a lot together. Good and bad. Some real bad, but they never let me down. They've always been there for me.

Is the t-handle between the screwdrivers and bit set, in the last pic, for 1/4" hex bits? If so what brand is it?

A most excellent score of an old school Snap On box. Flavour! I wish those boxes were dime a dozen here in my country.

Coach; are you talking about the deep/wide top/center drawer on the Kennedy machinist boxes? That's for a copy of Machinery's Handbook.
But who the hell stores one of those? Especially for my older Craftsman top box, it made me so happy to see it referred to as a whiskey drawer.:beer:

My stainless top finally showed up today. Over 7 months of waiting for all the pieces but it was worth it.

What material did you use to shadow?
I originally used neoprene foam which I really liked but ended up not having enough I don't know exactly what kind of foam is in the box now but I think I would have been happier if I would have just spent the money on ordering more neoprene foam instead of using what I had laying around the house.

Very nice new boxes. The Mastercraft look good also. It reminds me of Menards Masterforce here in the states. BTW did you trade it in towards the snappy?

Best part, this was a gift! My buddy got an upgrade and refused to let me buy it!
I asked him like 5 times to buy it. Then one day he calls me and says, "When you coming to get your tool box?" and I asked him how much. He simply said he felt that I really should take it and would not take a dime!:rocker:

So, I set it up and love it.IMG_0483.jpg

How did you like the Mastercraft maximum box? Is it decent quality?

They are probably the best box you can buy off a store, and they come on sale at half off very regularly.

These Mastercraft boxes are miles ahead of what you find at Sears and Harbor Freight. If only they had more selection in depth (only 18" deep) and drawer configurations.
