Best part, this was a gift! My buddy got an upgrade and refused to let me buy it!
I asked him like 5 times to buy it. Then one day he calls me and says, "When you coming to get your tool box?" and I asked him how much. He simply said he felt that I really should take it and would not take a dime!

So, I set it up and love it.

Well, yeah... Have been for some time and I just keep taking things home that I don't use regularly. But now I'm buying a smaller box I don't need a lot of the tools in my box for work now so I'm going to take it home and buy a smaller box that I can load in and out of the service truck easily.

It bolts on. I bolted it together but with the wieght of the box alone i thinks its unnecessarry. It took 4 of us to lift it.

Very nice new boxes. The Mastercraft look good also. It reminds me of Menards Masterforce here in the states. BTW did you trade it in towards the snappy?

No tradeson the box. Or I should say dealer did not want to take them. I still have the mastercraft. Waiting to clean and wax till I sell it. Its only 8 months old. They did the job.

I wanst planning on getting the Classic but I filled the mastercraft. I couldnt stand the drawer layout. Plus the drawers were not the greatest.

Its decent quality. They do the job for sure. All my boxes before this anda ere all mastercraft and all held up great

I took some recent pictures of my toolbox, it's been over 4 years since I last posted.

Here is an old picture of the box itself: KRL722 and KRL791 combo in green mica.

Top tray: Extractors, torque wrenches, PPE.

Pipe wrenches, saws, picks, plumb bobs and string

Clamps

Prybars, some files, layout tools.

More clamps, tubing tools, Clecos, rivet sets, thread restoring set, safety wiring tools. There is also some overflow from my body hammer collection.

Junk drawer. This thing is packed... there is a lot of Snap-on, Lisle, OTC, some SK... lots of press fixtures I made on my lathe, some fixture bolts.

I don't have a tap and die set, but I have each size packed individually with the tap drill.

Sockets. Snap-on has taken over the collection, but I still have a lot of Craftsman and SK. I have a few things from Proto, OTC, VIM, Facom, and Armstrong. Metric on the right, SAE on the left.

Wrenches. Snap-on, Craftsman, and SK dominate this drawer, I do have some Facom and Stahlwille in there.

Layout tools. All of my high precision stuff (Mitutoyo, Starret, Lufkin) is in a hand box in my bedroom.

I have very few Snap-on pliers, a lot of these are Klein, Knipex, and Facom. I also have files in this drawer that are used exclusively for stainless steel work.

Files and punches.

The complete Snap-on/Blue-point autobody hammer collection. I have some files tucked in there too, these are exclusively for steel.

Hammers, clamps, more files, dollies, slappers, spoons.

Hex stuff.

Power tools.

Die grinders, drills, impact guns. Most of my car-related work is modification rather than repair, so speed (impact tools) isn't a primary concern. I use hand tools most of the time.

200-300 dollar range. Using it for my general home tools in my basement.

I still need to buy some organizers and figure out the best layout. Will post drawer pics once I get it where I'm happy with it.

Those are pretty nice boxes for the price. I have been looking at those to up grade my shop with. Looking to get rid of some totally worn out workbenches with drawers in them. Total refurb coming this spring in the shop.

Thanks! I have a mixture of both, but a majority of my sockets have been on Hansen trays for a while. I think I have 3 Westling trays in my box, I like them but I prefer Hansen for the size markings.

I don't wrench professionally. I build VWs and old trucks primarily, plus whatever other random things I get into. I do everything except upholstery, but I really enjoy sheet metal fabrication and body/paint. I'll probably never build a plane, but there are a lot of tools that overlap between airframe maintenance and hot rod building...rivets, safety wire, 12-point fasteners, AN plumbing, mil/aero wiring. Hi guys. Been reading through this entire thread every night. I've been working on my home shop for quite a while and I've almost got it the way I want it finally.

Here are some pics of my toolbox setup. Once I get everything in order I'll get some more drawer pics. I've been buying the small red bins from Schaller for a couple weeks now to try and get it all organized the way I like it.

I just picked up the green Matco off Craigslist last week. I got a decent deal on it I think. Cut all new yoga mats for drawer liners, plasti dipped the drawer pulls and hurculined the top. The green box is intended to be my supply storage. Nuts,bolts, all small pieces.

The previous owner didn't take very good care of it. It was starting to rust on the top where his top box sat.

Let me know what you guys think. I'm pretty excited about how it's all coming together.

I'll post two of mine (since I seem to have smaller ones all over) this is my main box. It's a Snap On that I've had since around 1990 or so. It resides in my shed in the back yard.


For my tinkering I have this older Matco single drawer cart in the garage that keeps the more often used tools up front. I keep it tucked under my work table. Every so often I have to clear out the tools that have migrated here.

If one must have a top box, I REALLY like this type as it keeps all the commonly used stuff up front and handy without dealing with drawers, and is even more convenient than a pegboard. More compact too.

I have a black box, and want to do exactly what you did with orange liners. I just have not been able to find a 29" ish deep mat locally.

I used orange in my box it came up a little shy on depth. Got my orange yoga mats on e bay.

I got the orange yoga mats from menards. $6 each. 24" x 68". I was able to get 3 drawers out of 1 mat if I cut them right. Depending on your drawer width, you will probably only get 2 out of each.
