Build specs? That looks very nice!

Thanks. 66" wide x 36" high. Drawers are 27" deep, full extension, and 300 pound capacity each. The 2 drawer units I bought from Innova Systems in Rhode Island. Really happy with the quality. The frame is 2x2 square tube and angle. The adjustable feet and insert I got from J W Winco. It was a fun little project.

Very nice. More info on drawer units please. I searched Innova but didn't find any cabinet/drawer manufacturers.

Interesting, thanks for the info. I thought those looked like industrial cabinets, just wasn't sure if you built around them or from scratch. Any info on how those compare to lista, vidmar and the like big names? I can't seem to find much on "Innova Systems"

I like the idea of using a service cart for car detailing purposes only. Gonna have to get me a harbor freight one for my detailing items. Thanks for the idea!

How do you like it so far? I ordered a couple the other day when I noticed them on sale again. I can't wait for them to come in. I've looked at them for a while now but I don't know anyone who owns one to get a real opinion of them.

I love that blue! I hope to have a three bay someday!

In the meantime I found a new use for a CM 5 drawer that I had under a workbench to keep little items clean and orderly. Tank stands at the local pet shop didn't fit the car them for the basement and the kids wanted a fish tank, luckily her majesty agreed to me repurposing the CM.

I just got that exact box, same color. I was skeptical of the quality before ordering. I picked it up on Monday evening, and I like it a lot. I have to say I'm very impressed. Only thing I would change, I would like two drawers to replace one of the deeper drawers on the right or left side. Other than that it is an awesome box for the price.

I have a Matco 56" box, which I've had for years, and I was concerned the Masterforce would be flimsy compared to the Matco, but it isn't. Not saying that its equal in quality to the Matco, but it is not flimsy at all. I like the spring loaded casters on my Matco, and wish the Masterforce had them too, but at this price/quality point I can't complain. Just have help to unload it.

Now I have to decide on the stainless steel top or a wood top.

If anyone is thinking about getting one, you won't be disappointed. A $500 discount/sale price on this box makes it probably the best bang/buck out there.

I was going to get one of the 72" Harbor Freight boxes, but glad I got this one. And glad I got the choice of the Blue.

Now I have to paint the Matco blue to match. Another project!

Another thing on the Masterforce 72" box, I wasn't sure about the 'Lift-latch' drawers. I thought they might be pita, but actually they're a really nice feature, and kept the drawers from sliding open, while I was loading the tools into it.

Better than the detent drawers on the Matco. There is another type of drawer latch feature on International boxes (International makes the Masterforce box) which pull the drawer closed when it reaches a certain point, at the nearly closed position. So I found a box in a local store that had that feature, and I can honestly say that WOULD have become a pita/inconvenient areal quick. That type pulls the drawer closed too fast, so much so that I could see lighter tools being moved around, and the drawers weren't as easy to open as they should have been, imo.
Also, I think the lift-latch drawers are more convenient than the Harbor Freight latch mechanism.

When your wife is an avid knitter and her husband is a mechanic this is what happens when she needs more space for her knit and crochet "tools"

Ordered this fro Grizzly.com. It is the 26 inch Oak top and bottom. Yes it is actually in the living room!

Who makes those? is the workmanship good, or are the drawers just good enough for sewing supplies? :dunno: (Grizz site was no help)

I love it so far! I just got it so can't give it to much of a review but I was definitely impressed with the quality! The only thing I had to compare it to before buying was the smaller boxes at menards and the harbor freight box. This big box seems better than the smaller guys and superior to the harbor freight box. I would say menards could easily charge double for this thing! You'll be very happy with it!

Yeah I hear ya, very sturdy box and heavy! I was looking at the HF box too and I'm glad I went this route! I think I would go nuts with that latch system alone on the HF. Plus at this price you could afford to buy the sprung casters and swap them if you really needed!

As far as the tops the SS I got isn't solid like I was assuming it would be  so it will dent fairly easy I'm assuming if youre hard on it?

This is the Grizzly branded one. Craftsmanship is pretty good. Are they a Gershner no. Would I put heavy hand tools in them no. Would I put machinist measuring tools in the yes with out a doubt. The Base is about 100lb empty. the drawers are about and heavy duty as a good office desk would have. This set was about 600.00 shipped to the house. The Southbend base that Grizzly sells is over 800 by itself.

Did they ship this box to you. I am 5hrs away from a store and I am really liking the blue over the harbor freight red.

They do offer shipping I believe it was $179 to my door, I have a Menards a few miles away so I did the free ship to store and picked it up. I suppose you would have to weigh out if its worth the time and fuel etc. to pay for delivery.

They also have green and black, I was debating between black and blue they both look pretty good but went with blue obviously.

I had mine delivered to a nearby store. I have a trailer that sits close to the ground, and used an engine hoist to unload it.

If I had it shipped to my house it was going to be +$210.
Hope this helps.
Even at $1280 including shipping and tax, its still a solid buy, and you're still saving $500, until March 13th

Hey Vette, Thanks for the heads up about the stainless steel top. You made my decision for me. I have some >1" hard maple, so I think I will run some through the planer, and glue up a 1" top, and finish it with some Target Coatings Clear Super Poly (Target Coatings makes a very nice product, and their Super Poly is very durable). That way in the future, when it gets all scratched up, i can run it through the drum sander, and throw another coat of poly on it, and it'll be good for another 10 years or so.
Thanks Vette. I appreciate it.

I like my black boxes but the more pics of the blue 72s on here I see, I gotta say the blue is growing on me.

I think i read either in this thread or a different one, but on this forum, where someone said they go on sale twice a year. Once in the spring, this sale, and one in fall around November.

I have kept a close eye on them and over the last 2 years ......the 72" have only gone on sale in November and February.

Hey everyone, its been a long time since I posted anything here, but I figured this would be as good of time as any. Just got my home box, a KRA6200 road chest set up in my new garage. Its definitely not your typical garage tool box, but I fell in love with it a few years back in my service truck. Right after I bought it, a 'too good to be true' job offer came my way, I was out of the truck and this toolbox never so much as left the top of my KRL1033 before getting put into storage. I don't know why I couldn't bring myself to sell it, like I said, I just loved everything about it. Fast forward a few years and now that my wife and I have a house, I've finally taken the time to set it up. I built a small 'cart' to solve the problem of needing a forklift to move the damn thing. Its mostly Craftsman Ive had since high school, some SK stuff I bought when I first started working (and has since been replaced at work), and some Snap-on BOGO deals or sale items that Ive been saving just for this moment.

I think QCI actually manufactures both Masterforce and International, along with Montezuma and John Deere. They really just very in color and a few material differences.

Small one car garage, but made sure to fit 4 boxes. And I just got rid of one 26" box.
