I have the same Cman trays. I know they take up a lot of space, But I really like having my sockets spaced out nice and even. Its a very neat drawer. Plus I think they are more secure than the hansen trays. There is NO chance it is going to tip over if the box gets bumped or somthing like that.

imahemi, To make them easier to read, I took a black sharpie and colored the lettering on my trays. Looks very neat (if you take your time) and easier to read.

Also, where did you get the red tray?

yah, but you could fit 5 or 6 hansen's in one drawer. and packed in tight, and with the weight of the sockets, i couldnt see them tipping.

not very cost effective i'll admit

I have the same set of Craftsman trays. They ARE space hogs. I ended up taking mine out and made my own setup to hold sockets.

Red tray is the first tray i started with and I got it from harbor freight... it hold my left overs that dont have a spot in the craftsman trays...

Desk tray from Staples. I have a bunch of them for various sizes of aircraft rivets.

Diesel has enough soapstone there to layout the Titanic II! :wtf:

Finally figured I could not live without the bottom box. So back to Lowes and got it. Just fit in my Ranger. Not to easy for one person to unload. But i got it done. I have come to the opinion that I own way to much stuff. So I'm gonna do some garage cleaning and try to get reorganized to my liking. This should make the wife happy also.

My new toolbox. Sold my top and bottom homak black/gold for the HF 41" because itll give me more options to extend the toolbox out. Plus the HF was a better quality. Overall

What do you think of that box? I've been looking at it for a while. I really want a snap on or mac box like everybody does but I don't have the cash right now.

Also from a garage buddy:

Now thats a **** box. My dad has that exact same box in the last style before the BB drawers. Most likely made in the Arkansas plant before it shut down (my grandpa picked up my dads box from the Arkansas plant when he toured it for school).

Some cool setups here!

Here's mine, just another red 1023 along with my vintage box. Does anyone have the S-O Epic box?

My first-ever air tool bought brand-new in 1979. A Rodac die grinder. Still works great.

Here are some pictures of my boxes. They are full to capacity so I will be in the market for additional tool storage in the near future. Not sure what my next box will be...

I like mine, but don't use it daily.
I use mine daily, as well as my HF tools carts, and overall they have been good. The lock on my top box did fail, and i had to go buy a craftsman one and make it work by doing some cutting and welding of the latch parts, but not a huge deal. The only other complaint i have is that the lock system is different between the three pieces, so when i wanted to rearrange my drawers, i had to do some fabrication and modifications to move/add latches to make it work.

anyway on to some pics:

Did you do that pinstriping by the lock yourself?

No, done by friend of mine named Herb Martinez. He was just messin around. I told him to go ahead and go at it so the backside of my 1023 has a nice pinstriped design. It's been in a few photo shoots and videos. The right side is striped too.

Thanks. This seems to be a decent forum. I am an internet and a tool junkie so I have the perfect job. :bounce:

I am active on a couple of internet forums. I came across this one from an independent tool dealer forum.

I know everyone has their favorite brand and I am not looking to change anyones mind here.

the flamefests would go away if people would just look at what the poster does with the tools first before saying truck brand or bust

No they wouldn't, many people (especially the ones here) are going to tell you what they think you should get regardless of what your actual needs may be.:lol_hitti
