Nope. Not at all. Much nicer than the box I started out with. I didn't get started with tools at 12 like the poster did either. He's off to an excellent start imo.

I have to agree with what has been said. It may be small be she is mighty, I would much rather have fewer quality tools then cabinets for of junk. That is one hell of a start.

Thanks guys! My theory is a tool is worth the money if it'll outlast me and it'll handle years of use without breaking etc. Plus I think it's rather cool to use a tool you've had forever. For example my dad has an Estwing claw hammer he was given for his 21st birthday, being a carpenter he's used that hammer for more than 40 years since
It's actually really nicely made, all the draws fit and move perfectly, it's actual steel and not paper thin stuff. For $670 or so in Australia I'm actually surprised they don't cost more because it's a really nice box. My only fault I have is that the paint has a decent bit of orange peal.

Traded in the Mac box to snap on today they made great offer. Got classic 96 which I know isn't the most desirable snap on box out there (probably why they gave such good deal). A little shallower than my Mac was but being it is triple bank I make it up on additional drawers. AND ITS BLUE! Have hard time saying no to blue.

Yeah I didn't want a lid and drawer and all that, just a rolling table to set stuff on. At the end of the day it all gets put away. That's the goal at least. He also threw in a side shelf he had in the wharehouse. It's got a scratch on it he says, I go it's gonna have one day one anyway, I'm not gonna be nice to this thing. He dragged the box of shelfs into the shop lol.

What is it you are using for wrench organizers ? Looks awesomeNow the time has come I feel that I can post my box without being ashamed. I've followed this thread since I was at least twelve and being 18 now, 6 years, having a job etc I feel that it's appropriate. I'm sure I'll out grow the Gearwrench box shortly but at the moment it's holding up just fine. I've mostly got Proto with a few odds and ends thrown in and a bunch of Knipex too.

I like your pen/marker drawer. My wife and father in law(he lives with us) keep taking my pens,pencils and sharpies from mine. I find them everywhere but in my box!

Nothing actually! I've got a set but they take up too much room so I just lay the wrenches against each other. I don't take out more than say 3 or 4 at a time so it works out.
Amazon. Proto has a dealer well "seller" on there and they ship here within reason. I'd say it works out cheaper than buying Snap On locally and I'd like to believe they're a better tool than Sidchrome etc.

Killshot, where did you purchase your new blue box?
I have the same box love it.I got a new snap on epiq a couple weeks ago, went from a KRL 1022. Ended up getting a 84 Epiq with 3 full width drawers, power bank and power top. Also the right side locker and workcenter. Gunmetal gray with black trim. Was delivered with Bedliner top, which looks great, but I like to be able to write on my worksurface, so it was switched out to a stainless power top. Have yet to set the work center on as I haven't figured out quite yet how to lift it on. Weighs like 400lbs.
I had 4 guys help me put the hutch on.

Anyone have any suggestions as to steps or what everyone else uses to reach the higher drawers on these top cabinets? I know I'm not the only one who got a set up like this?

I know matco/Mac used to offer a step that rolled under the box, I would think like those rolling stairs with the spring loaded casters that bottom out when you step on them. Sorry, I'm 6'5", not too much expertise in step stools lol.

Try being 5'6" I keep a fold out step stool next to my box and only keep battery chargers on top of my box because I can reach them without having to look.

When I had an extra tall box, we made the step shown below. Worked out excellent. Note the "rat hole", can push it under the box, or pull it out with your foot.
