I've been slowly working through the squares with evaporust and or electrolyte cleaning. The sockets, why bother, once the rust is gone, it is still pitted chrome, and you can see it, it's just a different color. Of all the tools in the collection, these are the only ones that are rusted. They have been stored in a basement since before I was born. The only thing that is different in all of the drawers is the liner. Here is a picture of the material that was lining the drawers of the rusty tools. Not sure what it is, but I can definitely say that it is no good for a drawer liner as you can see. If anybody knows what this material is used for, please, speak up!

Thought I would go ahead and finish out pictures of the bottom of this craftsman box. If you like to treasure hunt old tools from pictures, you should be entertained...

Steve,

You have one chain wrench that looks very familiar to me...

Elroy might even like them.

This is true. Looking at the one you posted, it seems that even they are made differently looking at the end with the teeth where the chain hooks on.

Here you go. I took these while packing up so some of the tools that live in the box are already packed.

Why is it when a tool is clean and well kept that every one assumes it is not used? I get this so much, You don't have to have a greasy mound of tools to say they get "used".

Pics of yours????

You know, letting your sockets sit in the solvent tank over the weekend doesn't cost anything and makes the tools easier to use.

Agreed on all of it. My work tools have been in use at least 4-5 days a week for 7 years, and they're still clean like that. Oh no, somebody takes care of their tools!! *gasp*

I get that all the time....

Every single tool I have has been used time and time again, but yet still look almost brand new. I guess that your tools have to look like flee market rejects to be considered used.

Thanks for taking the time to list them all...a very nice and impressive collection! I had thought you had some duplicate sets...you can never have too many sockets! (ok, maybe 3 sets of 1/4" is excessive :))

How do you like those Blue Point turbo sockets?

What is a "1/8" snap-on set"? I assume you meant 3/8?

Oh, the super short Snap On sockets...do you use them much? Do they fit on regular ratchets? Do you have the low profile ratchet, too? Does it accept regular sockets?

Oh and the comment about not using my tools. F@#$ off and stop being jealous.

Just to be clear, that wasn't me...
