Nice score. I have noticed a lot of equipment guys have big file cabinets and lockers filled up with large tools. Much different than automotive tool storage. Big wrenches fill up tool box drawers quick, that's for sure.

You are definitely right, the big tools take up space quickly in a standard tool box. My bottom drawer is filled with big wrenches and a few other drawers are all taken up by cases, plus I have a rubbermaid cart that is loaded with cases.

We have some standard office grade cabinets in the tool room and one or two of the guys have their own office grade cabinets. IMHO they ****- too light gauge for the tooling we have. I had thought about getting one but new costs easily what I paid for the Jobox or more and used is often abused, so I was happy to find this.

I also considered getting a used gang box and filling it up with cased tools and dealing with unpacking it as needed but then I found out Jobox and Knaack make heavy duty cabinets in addition to their gang boxes.

I really like the fact that I can pick the whole shebang up with a forklift and set it in the bay I'm working with. The guy who sold to me made a really nice square tube frame with high grade casters and fork pockets- we rolled it down his gravel driveway and up the ramp of my trailer without a problem.

I have my hardline pretty well sorted at this point and am mainly expanding my more specialized tool selection, most of which is either in cases or I will purchase in cases. This will do well for holding all of those cases and do it much more efficiently than a toolbox.

Have these at work, pretty much the best thing for tools in cases. Just make sure when the cases go in the box, the guys put the TOOLS back in the CASES.

i'm young, broke and just started working on cars by myself this year so i dont have a roller cab. i've been using a pair of red hand boxes and the blow mold case that my tool set came in. this week i added 2 new stanley boxes.



the box on top has a sliding tray instead of the usual lift-out tray.



there's a little rod on both sides that connects to the lid and is fastened with pop rivets.



the lower box is a 2 drawer box with a top section that is larger than i thought.



that's the entire content of this kit, all in the



when i lifted the box i encountered a problem, the handle location allows such a loading to tip the box when carrying. i was just curious if it would fit, i never intended to use the box in that manner.



the drawers do lock when the lid ls closed. it'd be kinda stupid if they didnt, but this isnt exactly a high



onto the red boxes. this is the first "real" box i ever bought.



top tray contains a harbor freight precision screwdriver set, a pry bar, a spark plug gapper, a pack of screws with nuts, a kobalt presicion bit driver and a kabalt double drive bit driver.



lower compartment contains my torque wrench, breaker bar, 2 c-clamps, a roll of scott blue shop towels, a few misc combo wrenches and a crescent 3/8" drive hex driver set.



the other red box is older than me. it belonged to my great-grandfather.





it's a little worse for wear, but still fully functional. i use it for storing fluids and cleaners.



bonus box, an old tap and die box that may or may not have belonged to my great-grandpa. my grandpa (mom's dad) gave all my great grandpa's stuff to my step-grandpa (mom's mom's husband) when my great grandpa died. when my step grandpa died, i received a lot of his stuff. this box was one of the things. my grandma said it belonged to him originally, my uncle said it didnt. my uncle had ransacked some of the taps and dies and 2 of the drawers i pulled out because of mice nests.

I started out with a craftsman hand box from the 50's that my dad gave me & a similar socket set. Now 4 1/2 years later I just did a conservative inventory in the $15k neighborhood. (Replacement value) It adds up quick. You're off to a good start. I wasted money on some cheap **** at first but have learned a lot about what to invest in. Gj & online reviews are your friends.

Not long ago I found a set of SO FD+ (SOEXM707) on ebay for like $90 and they where barely used. I just let go of another set of standard FD's to pay off some med bills.

The guy I apprenticed under had SK sockets and wrenches, really good quality. Too bad Cman stopped using them to make their Pro Wrenches or I would have bought those at the time.

You unknowingly fueled my drive...in the past week now I've purchased two sets of snap on wrenches plus a few other miscellaneous ones on eBay. I became obsessed and found some killer deals. Bottom line is I will end up with some very nice wrenches for very little money compared to some other outlets.

My like new, beautiful condition 10-19 metric flank drive plus set arrived the other day. I had to rearrange and expand into the next drawer over. Looking for some better wrench storage/organization solutions.

I wish. SOME do. I shuffled everything except the top two drawers(sockets and wrenches) several times. I'm sure this can be fine tuned a bit more, but might actually work better with something else. i despise the clowns that create these blow molded case designs.

As far as my matching sets, I had ALL craftsman sets, but broke a couple sockets, bought silver eagle 3/8", never had a great collection of impacts, now have a couple partial sets of random stuff, needed longer wrenches, started with Pittsburgh, spread out a couple spanners, and bought a set of matco long ratcheting wrenches. Main problem now is that most of it Carrie NO trade in value, and it's all stuff EVERYONE has, so it's gonna be an expensive process to get to have, at least, some rhyme or reason to the mess. But first, westling machine trays to determine what I have and don't.

Look into Ernst Manufacturing for wrench organizers. They've got some great options. All my wrenches are in Ernst racks. Keeps them organized and don't require as much room as just sitting your wrenches in your drawers. Made in U.S. Have a lifetime warranty. Plus they work great.

Not really. Haven't taken any but that since we unloaded her. Not sure what's so honest about it lol, but I'm taking the compliment wholeheartedly. I make my rent check out of it, not tool pornos. It gets dirty way more often than clean for sure. I will be getting a hutch and powertop soon as well to keep people's junk off my workspace.

Yeah that's what I meant. Last thing I do at the end of the shift is polish my sockets. I chuck them in there wet / greasy / dirty / dusty .. I GTF out !!!

Yeah. Slow days are meant for cleaning. I have that socket rack thing with twisties on it, pull out the whole thing and spray a BUNCH of brake cleaner on them once in a blue moon. My 9mm 1/4 has some crud on it from a few months ago, makes a good indicator that the one before is 8 and the one after is a 10. Lol kinda like it that way.

our master tech has a 52" that's absolutely embarrassing to the shop, which promotes cleanliness.

Glad to see you found what you wanted and saved some coin in the process. I knew I had a problem with eBay when I had 14 different 14mm combo wrenches. Mind you two of those were in a roadside kit...... in the back of my Chevy.

I too have been looking at wrench organizers, so far it looks like I will have to put all of mine vertical in order to fit. This is so far the best I have seen for my situation. I went from that exact box to a 84" epic and love the deeper drawers for sure from the epic line. I do think a 68" would probably be more or less about equal to the space you have in that box now when comparing my coworkers 68" epic to that box due to extra the height and depth . it should be easier for you to organize certain tools that are much longer (or wider, however you look at it lol) with deeper drawers. and just so you know if you can wait for the rock and roll truck to come around you can at least get a good deal on trade in if you buy new. got $5000 for mine with a stained and sealed wood top on it not to mention factory discounts they give.

Looking at the specs and playing with it on the truck even a 60 has more space than I currently have. I may see if he can do a deal on a 68 though to have a little more room to grow. He told me 4 + trade on the 60 and I only paid 3 for my used Mac box so 7k for an epiq seems decent. I've been at my current shop for about 3.5 years and have never seen the tool box truck come thru but we are quite small.

Haha, I think sometimes mechanics need to put themselves in timeout, haha. Nah, its just a box with a heat lamp in it that my boss uses to spray paint on repaired radiators. He re-cores, solders/patches, old radiators for vintage cars, tractors, semi's and such. Pretty cool rely, kind of an art.

Just bought this International tool box for home. It's ok for the price, but does not compare to snap on boxes. Excuse the mess, just moved into our new place recently.



My work setup. Just ordered a new gloss black krsc46 and cart. Didn't like the split top and the HF cart fell over too many times and just barely hanging on for dear life.
