I definitely know I have an OCD problem.
Yes you do. :D
But there is nothing wrong with that. You have really nice stuff and it's setup very nice which makes getting jobs done much more efficient.

I'll be honest, the tools in my hobby shop box get thoroughly wiped down. Even going as far as pulling the rag all the waythrough the socket to get all the grease/oil out. Is this bad? :D

I don't do that with my tools at work, however. The novelty seemed to wear off them after 20 years. Plus they are just dirty brown trucks.

Now that I've become more active on here as of late I thought I would finally post my toolbox in this thread. Over the last 15 years I have been a salesman/service writer/manager for 2 of the biggest national tire and automotive service shops. My tools are kept at home and primarily used for maintenance & customization of my own and family & friends vehicles as well as custom car audio and around the home DIY.

I definitely know I have an OCD problem. My tools are used frequently but I admit I am a bit of a tool polisher in that nothing gets put away until it gets wiped down. I will also admit that while I purchased many of my tools along the way over the last 15 years and my KRL1001 in 2008, so many new tools have found their way into this box in the last year or two thanks to GJ. So thanks to all you who've offered ideas, real world reviews, feedback and help in making my tool purchasing decisions.

Awesome OCD organization! Love it!

Gave me some great ideas for my OCD :)

Here is mine. It's more of a tool cart. I had a Harbor Freight 44" box but I was outgrowing it fast and with a new set of twins getting funds approved for a toolbox was hard. I was working at a company that was in the process of shutting down and we had a tons and tons of metal shelving. Since they owed me money I was never going to see the owner let me have some shelving along with a whole bunch of tools for next to nothing. I made the frame out of shelving uprights and welded shelving at the very top and very bottom. Then I braced up each shelf with some 3/4" angle iron we had laying around. The middle shelves use stainless steel 1/4" bolts to attach so they are adjustable if need be. We also had a bunch of blue bins that I use to hold the tools themselves. The only problem is now I've outgrown this and all my 3/4" and 1" drive stuff is now on a shelf along with all my hammers, files, punches, measuring tools, cutting tools etc. I did start labeling the sides for easy access to everything and I even numbered each bin. I've yet to do both sides but so far I'm learning the numbers that correspond with the tools. This way when my wife or someone who doesn't know where stuff is located is helping me I can just tell them a number and they can hand me the whole bin. It's come in handy so far. I finished up painting the shelving with "NOV Mission Green" paint as we had a gallon laying around that was going to go in the trash. For those who work in the oil & gas drilling field you'll probably recognize the color. I plan on taking off the lights as they keep getting in the way of things. I'm going to put magnets on them and a long cord and just use them as magnetic work lights instead.

Labeled Side (Mostly 1/4" 3/8" or 1/2" sockets, ratchets, and ratchet attachments with my Milwaukee impacts and drills at the top)

Non-Labeled Side (Screwdrivers, wrenches, drivers, pliers, specialty tools, etc)

I was keeping some wrenches here but they kept falling off. I'm looking to move the adjustable wrenches as well

One thing I learned is that I put the handle too high and with all my tools the cart is hard to move around. I worked in the oilfield supply business for years and all my stuff is Proto, Williams, Wright, Snap-On, Crecent, SK, Channellock, etc. Basically your industrial USA brands. As a result it's a lot of weight. Except for my Milwaukee stuff I'm proud to say every tool on this cart is made in the USA. For small jobs I built a second cart out of shelving and put some aluminum drawers on it. I just have some very basic tools, a Milwaukee impact with attachments, some Wypall, a fan, and a floor jack on this cart. It's much lighter but still heavy duty enough to set stuff on top and hammer on it.

With the power strips, lights, and material I'm probably at around $200 for both boxes, or about $75 for the smaller one and $125 for the larger. Almost everything was free or next to nothing from my former employer. I had to buy the power strips and the lights from Lowes. They aren't as pretty as the traditional wide rolling toolbox(s) I'd like to get one day but they work well and keep my stuff organized.

hey if you go to NAPA or a hardware store and buy a 3/8 and 1/2 inch key stock, they make good holders for the crowsfeet, that would free up some room

I just built this, Thanks for getting my lazy *** to do something about the mess:thumbup:

That's a nice socket drawer. What do you got for impact sockets (brand)? Mind if I ask what you work on? Occupation?

My 1/2" drive impacts are gp and the 3/4" drive impacts are snap on i just picked them up on ebay for cheap. I work on Ag equipment, heavy equipment, and some trucks. We're technically a New Holland dealership but we're the only diesel shop in town so we see a little bit of everything. I also farm with my dad and uncle.

Well I bought some standard Ernst wrench racks and they won't fit my KRL drawers with larger wrenches. Can someone post up the low profile racks or something similar? Thanks.

First post on here, loving the boxes! When i started pulling wrenches i had an old Mac Select series, like maybe 40" wide, then went to a Tech1000, with a Tech MB8810 top. Once i started doing more road work i opted to get the KRA62 Heavy duty road chest, which is hands down the best road box if you ask me. Started to run out of room again in the roll cab so upgraded about 3 years ago to the 72" Classic 96. Tomorrow there will be another upgrade showing up, a brand new MB1953 88" Macsimizer!! Pretty stoked! Heres the pics i have for now, more to follow! Don't mind the current "clutter". Just took the last one tonight!

The two tone gray and silver with that red anodized trim looks awesome on your 6s. Our alignment tech has the same Matco box with the exception of color. His is all silver with blue trim but it doesn't look anywhere close to as sharp as yours in that two tone and red.

Now I feel bad. Here I am recently pitching Ernst racks to you without asking how big of wrench you're trying to fit in that 2" drawer. I think the largest I have on a rack is 24mm and 1".

Our 1001"s have tons of square inches but so many times I catch myself dreaming of 3 full width drawers on a 68" Epiq. I think how bad *** would it be to have all 4 socket drive sizes in one drawer, all my wrenches in another with no height constraint and all the snappy handled stuff together in the 3rd.

Don't feel bad, Chris. I didn't measure it's my own fault. I only bought one set to test. The low pros might work better. Right now I have a large set of GW that goes up to about 1 1/2 in addition to the metric set that goes up to 32.

Well I bought some standard Ernst wrench racks and they won't fit my KRL drawers with larger wrenches. Can someone post up the low profile racks or something similar? Thanks.

The low pros work better than the standard but my vote goes to the KRA15A from Snap On. I've been through all of them it seems that these just plain work best. I've got them in the wrench drawers of a 722 and 7022 and have wrenches up to 1 1/2" and I think 28 or 30mm maybe? and they work awesome. I can double check wrench sizes if you think it would help you.

Thanks for the offer but not necessary. The part numbers are a great help!

As promised here is the new Macsimizer all set up! Not sure why they are posting sideways though?!

Just traded two Snap-on tool carts and a Snap-on 1/4 drive socket set for this KTL1022PPS. I have got about $2500 in it. If I had my choice I would have rather had a KRL1022. I can't complain though this box is 1 year old and is in nice shape. My tool collection looks small in this thing.

Love the red with black trim and the 3 full width drawers. Congrats.
