MWEric, what's the width of those drawers? I like the way those pliers are organized. Better than wire shelving no doubt

It's a KRL1023, I think the drawer is around 30"'wide, and a tad less deep, around 26 or 27". The only problem is no room for more.

Also posted in the vintage section when I got the box - hope that's OK?

Snap-on KRA-58B from 1966, found on Craigs' List. Even came with the owners manual. Original paint, slides good shape and the guy said it had been in storage for many years. Did a simple cleanup and hit it with some car wax. Very heavy, seems to hold a lot of tools.

This picture is simply superb. Your photography skills show

My Humble setup, Fleet/Tanker mechanic. Still accumulating larger sized tools, sockets/wrenches/etc. Next logical step is likely consolidating all my common tools into a KRSC46 or similar.

Click on the gallery for a link to higher res pics!

Nothing humble about it, man. Good looking gear.

Thank you! bunch of gear not shown there...power probe, swivel sockets and crowsfeet...etc. Anything I don't need at work, doesn't stay at work. Call it paranoia.

All of those items I'm looking into picking up a hardware store tower to keep them centralized at home.

New box I scored at Lowe's on Black Friday. I just got it home yesterday and now begins the process of moving two smaller boxes into this new large box. My old Homak and vintage RemLine will soon be up for sale.

Here's the old 1967 RemLine. I may just keep it since it looks so cool...

Here is an old Craftsman wall mounted box I picked up the other day. I had it shipped from Cleveland, OH. I spent a little less to have it shipped than I paid for it. It's the woodworking/carpenters box. This is the one I wanted but I'd still like to get a mechanics box to go with it. Now to fill it with period tools!

Here are fullsize copies of the original brochure if anyone is wanting them...

Love that old RemLine. Hang on to it ..

The white looks really good. I haven't seen that color yet @ Lowes.

We got the same Remline (rebranded Powerkraft) top chest for Dad for xmas probably 10 years ago ontop of a very clean Craftsman bottom. Love that setup but I'd love to see two shallow drawers instead of a deep one.

Nice box nodawalleyer! I'm not usually a fan of the multi colored boxes (I've only ever owned red ones) but thats pretty sharp!

Millwright, I like your box, it looks to be in really great shape. Having the paper work has to be a real added value.
I have the mechanic box that I am working on filling.

Agreed. It's not a look I would normally choose, but it sure looks good in the photos.

Also posted in the Vintage toolboxes thread.

A few years ago, I took my big Snap-on box home from work as I took on a supervisor role (I am a millwright in a steel mill). However, the need to train new mechanics in hands-on servicing of sand molding equipment this past year precipitated the need to have some tools at the shop again. As such, I chose to bring in my CL found vintage boxes and put them to use.

I got a lot of weird looks at first, but now I got the guys in the shop talking about vintage tools.

Does anyone else use their vintage toolboxes at work?

Brian

yea ive used this CM top box (10/71) at work to toss tools in when my service truck was at the ford dealer for head gaskets (again)

until a couple years ago, i still had this set sitting at the shop, bought them new in '85 or '86

vintage MAC side box, and vintage Lyons mid boxes in my service truck
