Almost finished with this - TSTAK/Paulk based tool box and work top.

I was trying to build my own boxes to work with the few Systainers I had - then I found the TSTAKs. Not as standardized as the Systainers, but more durable and AFFORDABLE!!!!

I sold my Harbor Freight 46" 13 drawer rolling cabinet, took the proceeds and bought a mess of TSTAKs, then built this cabinet/work top.

When finished, the middle and one end bank will rest on a pullout platform, there will be 4-5 shelves on the backside to hold the TSTAK bins, there will be 2 peg boards under the slight overhang, and some magnetic strip tool holders.

I cut fewer and larger holes in the worktop and included a "key hole" so I could use a variety of clamps, specifically welding slide clamps (again, more affordable than FESTOOL). When building the worktop, I found myself working "in" the box as well as "on" it, so I split and hinged the top, for added accessibility and storage.

I put it on 8", pneumatic casters, as I need to roll this thing outdoors more often than not. it was a nice idea, but it is a bit 'tippy'. I think I will replace one end with a fixed axle and wheels at a bit wider stance - then replace all the wheels/tires with 'no flat' rubber tire/wheel combos.

I got a few more gearwrench socket rails for my 1/4" drawer. Pretty much done with 1/4" except for a wobble extension.

I took a better picture of my new box

IMG_1537.jpg

KRL1163. Currently I'm using some RGB under cabinet lights in the hutch, but would like something that doesn't emit such a blue glow. An extra bonus is it came with the 72" snap on sound bar which I mounted up high inside the hutch. I also plan on getting the LCD bracket to put a computer monitor in the hutch.

Not as prestigious as some of the nice boxes in this thread, just picked this up - Husky 52" box that was on sale this memorial day at the orange store.

i like that setup better than the dewalt and the milwaukee boxes, that one actually has a better drawer arrangement, i could see me using a bottom box

I had to do that on mine too. Now I have the harbor freight ones that don't go above the sockets.
