Currently renting a townhouse so one corner of my living room doubles as my tool storage / work space. Since i joined this forum I've moved from craftsman sockets to all SK sockets except for the metric impacts. Wright for the standard and MAC for the deeps.

I am intrigued by the small Crescent box in your wrench drawer :)

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum!
I'm what we call here in Quebec,CA an Electromechanic. It's like an hybrid between an industrial mechanic and a electrical technician. I work on a food dairy plant. here's my little setup.

My grandfather gave that to me a couple of years ago, he found it in an antique store near where they live in central NY! He gave me a dozen or so wooden handle screwdrivers as well, don't know a whole lot about them though.

02xterra love the setup

Thanks!

His socket organization/cleanliness is what got me. Somehow we're witnessing a man without duplicates or missing sockets!

Haha I have been filling up the holes in my trays lately, luckily I haven't lost any yet! I do have duplicates in 3/8 metric, they just stay in my Xterra

So two weeks ago I received this text..
Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

.. and then this weekend my new toolbox was delivered! It's a Snap-on KRL1032 and KRL1232 combo. I traded in my old box KRL722 / KRL791 combo.

It's quite a bit bigger :D
Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

I swapped around a few drawers so the 2" tall drawers are toward the bottom. I'm only 5'10"... the same height as the box.
Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

The top isn't organized yet, right now it's just all piled up there. PPE, welding consumables, large squares and levels, etc.
Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

The top drawer is plumbing and riveting equipment.
Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

Taps, Dies, Rethreading.
Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

Pullers, bead roller dies, homemade fixtures, bolts. I haven't had this much extra room ever!
Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

Electronics... this drawer is a mess.
Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

Automotive special tools.
Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

Drills, countersinks, hole saws.
Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

Specialty pliers and more electronics. I have these separate from my regular pliers drawer, I might combine them at some point as I start to squeeze.
Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

Measurement and layout.
Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

More taps - Generally these are higher quality HSS taps, some are coated, for machining and fabrication work. Also note to anyone reading - the 2" tall drawers in these extra-wide boxes are slightly more shallow than standard KRL drawers because they have an extra layer of stiffeners underneath. I planned to keep these tape measures in the measurement and layout drawer, but they just barely don't fit.
Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

Top Drawer. Torque wrenches, impact guns, and sockets. Lots of Snap-on, some Craftsman and Proto, occasionally some SK, VIM, Mac, and a small handful of imports.
Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

Wrench drawer. I could have spread these out, but decided to keep them compressed to make room for growth without having to re-arrange with every new set.
Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

Screwdrivers, Scrapers, Prybars.
Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

Pliers, snips, safety wiring, clecos. Also some duplicates of tape measures and writing tools.
Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

Files, all separated by material to prevent weld contamination.
Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

Punches, Chisels, and small hammers. I inherited these old Craftsman hammers from my grandfather a few years back.
Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

Body hammers. This is the complete collection of Snap-on and post-war Blue Point body hammers, along with a few others.
Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

Body files and more dollies. Lots of Martin, and a handful of flea market chisels I've ground into special shapes.
Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

I received that old Stanley claw hammer for my 9th birthday :D
Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

Air power tools. I love the $8 Harbor Freight grinders, but I've got a few good ones as well. These old DeWalt NiCad batteries are still kicking after ~12 years, they keep working but they're slated for replacement as soon as they die.
Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

In related news, these $1 bins from Dollar Tree are amazing.
Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

Paint guns. I need to buy or build an organizer for this drawer. I have another in my paint cart, it will get moved over at some point.
Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

Power Tools. My 4-1/2" grinders look like little babies next to the Makita 9" grinder!
Untitled by Anthony Fazz, on Flickr

For reference, I think this is the last time I posted drawer pics:

Afazz, I'm jealous! The wrench and socket drawers, alone, have me wanting to upgrade.

Thanks! Not sure about the 'you ****' as it was NOT a straight-up trade. It was a decent deal, but my wallet is quite sore haha.

How are you liking the narrow drawers on the other side?

I spent most of the weekend organizing and only spent ~4 hours working out of it so far. If I'm working at my bench (to the left of the lathe) it adds a few more steps, but that's unavoidable with any wider box. Previously most of my fabrication tools were biased toward the left side, closer to the fabrication area, but now it's more balanced. It will take some adjustment, but I think it will be fine. Worst case scenario I'll just trade up to an 84" Epiq with the narrow bank on the left again :eyecrazy::bounce:

Been fixing diesels out of a HF 44" and toolcart for the last couple years.

Snappy gave me an offer I couldn't resist. KRL1022 with powertop. There's so much more room for activities! I dont think I will outgrow it as a 1 manufacturer guy. Maybe get a hutch eventually. If i outgrow it I can get side cabinets.

I LOVE the height.

Oh my goodness. My work neighbor has that same roll cab I think, but with a hutch and a locker. It looks so weird without the other stuff on it lol.

I think this is the best picture I have of it.

There are some nice setups here. I like the hutch setup but would like to simply toss all the stuff I am using constant in the top. I don't care if evey socket I have is in the same drawer or even the pliers, in fact some of it gets used so regular I don't want to open a drawer for it or give 200# of wrenches a free ride every time I want a simple combo.
Its a pretty thing but the one with 3 big pipe wrenches with the common wrenches would soon go.
I was contemplating the big top drawer on many boxes, not sure how I would really organize. I like drawers for things I don't use. Stuff I want to get out of the way and be able to find when needed. I see one here a Matco cart its called, looks like a tool box to me but the top is terraced like a Montezuma style and I like that, all open, could close the cover if needed.
BTW, what is a power top?

I will get a hutch for it eventually. I have a roll cart also that has everything I need to do most services or jobs so I doubt I will really outgrow this for quite some time. It mostly stores tools I don't as often, balancer pullers, tap sets, extractors, larger ratchets/breaker bars. my chrome sockets stuff, diag stuff, etc.

I can do any job that comes in the door as it stands right now so any additional stuff is just to make life easier. i actually have empty drawers again.

There's two other guys here that have the same one. I just love the height.

Powertop just means it's the stainless top with the power strip integrated in.

The guy beside me has since moved all of his sockets and ratchets onto the back wall. I'll have to get a new picture of it. The box itself is like, wrenches, pliers, and a few specialty tools. Most of it is in the locker.

Hi,
here is my toolbox, pictures taken for insurance policy (provided by the garage) so i thought, may as well post them here.
Im working for a car dealer, currently Korean manufacturer, previously 10 years for Japanese manufacturer, so toolwise I can limit myself to what I need to work on one type of vehicles.
Only have/need metric tools, does not look like there is many but they get the job done.
Mix of everything really, prefer SO but not always can afford it.
Have been on GJ for about a year and you can clearly see where am I getting ideas from to organise my tools :D
I hope pictures will work, (first post so need figure out how to).

Finally getting around to putting up a picture of my 72x30 Tool Vault box.

That's also a small husky box resting on top that i have stocked with some basic sockets, pliers, and wrenches for road calls.
I'm a diesel tech for a TA travel center. I started in a 26" craftsman box, bolted a 24" stanley box to that, and eventually added a HF tool cart. Earlier this year(after about a year of research) i ditched that entire setup in favor of the tool vault box and couldn't be happier. I even think the quality of the tool vault box surpasses that of the entry and mid-teir snappy boxes. But shhh, don't tell any snap on box owners i said that

My employer has decided to supply us with fully stocked tool boxes, so I got to ship mine home! The bottom is a Proto 450HS 50" (same as a Mac Tech 1000) and the top is a Mac road chest. I need a bigger garage now!!

I'd look for a good deal on a cordless impact or screw gun. Something like m12 or bosh.

Yeah I have been looking at eBay and Craigslist for a cheap impact wrench preferably a DeWalt, but wouldn't mind any brand.

Mohammed, I'd second the electric impact wrench. If I didn't already have air, I'd go electric. As for what might be useful, I'd recommend a good prybar set along with punches and chisels. Also, eye and hearing protection. Keep us updated.

It's a few years old, but yep, a mini, portable vidmar with 400lb drawer slides. I am very happy with it!

What do you work on? Otherwise you will mostly get suggested tools for what others work on...
