I actually ordered the top before I decided on the hutch, but the hutch arrived first, I like the power top, one cord out the back and I can put caps in the cord holes

Hi,
here is my toolbox, pictures taken for insurance policy (provided by the garage) so i thought, may as well post them here.
Im working for a car dealer, currently Korean manufacturer, previously 10 years for Japanese manufacturer, so toolwise I can limit myself to what I need to work on one type of vehicles.
Only have/need metric tools, does not look like there is many but they get the job done.
Mix of everything really, prefer SO but not always can afford it.
Have been on GJ for about a year and you can clearly see where am I getting ideas from to organise my tools
I hope pictures will work, (first post so need figure out how to).

Started with a HF 4 drawer cart for storage that was used for about a year before adding a job smart 36" roller due to lack of space. In Feb '16, I found a Heritage combo and made an offer for $400 (was asking $800) and he took it.

Then yesterday, I did the same thing to another guy who has had their box listed for over two months and offered him half which was 1k. He agreed so I went and picked up what will hopefully be my last box. After selling for KRA combo for $700, I am only out of pocket $700 for the new box. I was smiling like an idiot the whole drive home.

I finally have a real tool box to replace my busted down 27" craftsman 7 drawer unit that's over 20 years old. Moved into a house with a garage finally and had room for this, so I went big. Husky 52" upper and Lower combo.. Textured black, 2 power supply strips, self closing ball bearing drawers.. I love it.. Now to get all my tools out of the cardboard boxes they moved here in..

Thanks! I always thought black was best, but I think this red is sharp.


While I was organizing I decided I didn't like the drawer layout. Had to remove the second long drawer and all the middle drawers to move the slides. It's more practical for me this way. I think it looks better, too.

This is going to be my new box come this November. Snap On 72" Master series with the power drawer and the divided organizer drawer. Will also be adding the SS Power Top and a Hutch down the road. I recently started a new job as an Amusement Ride Mechanic/Welder.

Hard to say... the price seems high but it does look like original paint & patina and if the box is in good shape then you have a lovely piece of history in good condition

I replied because about 3 years ago I found the same KR-56 box so I knew exactly what you had posted! I got mine for $60 CAD but the guy was a hack-job and soaked it in primer and paint, it literally stunk of spray-bomb when I got it... when I started stripping all that mess off I found that he had tried to wire-brush the lid and messed-up the original mill-scale patina pretty badly. So naturally I further screwed-up the mill-scale when stripping all that paint and I still haven't finished "restoring" the box yet...

Plan is to just strip the remaining paint remnants and just oil-rub the steel with some old diesel motor oil since the box is nice and straight and will be fully functional, BUT it has pretty much zero collector value anymore.

Lawson drawers are electrical connectors and miscellaneous sanding disks and hardware.

Left husky is cordless tools and corded porta band. Also has more hardware in drawers.

Middle is all welding fixtures for strong hand table and extra belt grinder belts and band saw blades.

Far right is squares, clamps, paperwork for jobs, more hardware.

Thanks for the info. I just cleaned the grease off with soap. Over all It is real straight.
I don't want to restore it. I think only do restoration on vintage items if it is in poor condition.I will post in vintage tool forum. I will put it in with the other items i picked up over the last 30 days.

Super jealous Matt! My KRL1001 wants to grow up to be an Epiq also but it's gonna be a few years yet.

Nice looking 68....oh and I saved the pic after the drawer rearranging. Short of 3 full width drawers I like the way you changed it up.

Thanks, Chris. I've gotten a lot of great ideas from you in the past so glad I could return the favor. The shallow drawers are a little bit of a PIA, there are only certain things (height-wise) that fit. I had to get rid of my wrench racks and lay my pliers flat. I don't like that. I'd rather swap out two shallow drawers for a deeper one but that's not an option. Supposedly the drawers are not available separate from SO. On the R&R truck it would be an option. But the "new" price reflects that for a custom layout. My only complaint so far is the shallow drawers having limits use. I'll take pictures tomorrow of the drawers as examples.
