Awesome setup! I like how you have it organized. I'd really like to upgrade to a Snap-On KRL box. The Peterbilt creeper is cool too.

I've worked with a lot of guys that are way to worried about upgrading to a bigger, flashier, fancier box, but then need to borrow a 10mm socket because they only have one and they lost it. I started with a craftsman entry level box, and packed it with tools, only upgrading when it was jammed full and over loaded, and continued this way up until now. Even this box was bought in 3 separate purchases when the deals were right. Tools make the money, not the box, unless you have to take 20 minutes digging in a drawer, then it's time to upgrade.
The creeper was a promo deal Matco had going for a while, you could submit your own image and they would put it on the creeper.

I think what impresses me the most is a plain Jane Craftsman box that's packed full of Snap-on tools.

Exactly, when scrolling this thread I tend to kinda glaze over the pictures of the more basic boxes and homeowner sets, not that their tools aren't good enough or anything like that, just that pro techs are on a different level. But every now and then I spot a simple red Craftsman or the like just packed to the gills with pro tools. That is how I started out, and if I wasn't earning a living with my tools, probably would have stayed that way. Do I need this big of a toolbox? Absolutely not. Did I want it and purchase it at the right time for the right price? Yes I did, and it sure makes my day a lot nicer when everything I need is right here in the right place.
On the other hand, I do have a lot of pro tools (Snap On, Matco, Mac, SK, etc), But I also have a lot of lower quality tools. I purchase the best quality for what I need it for. Even most of my high dollar tools were bought used.

I have 2 sets of snap on screw drivers and wish I had a set of those craftsman professional drivers. I absolutely love them.

Well from having a lovely shadow foamed box before I now have very limited space and currently don't work on the tools professionally so all my snap on kit is jammed into a 40" KRA awaiting a larger KRL once a suitable garage is constructed 
Still have alot of other kit stashed away in random places but its impossible to find something when you want it so the sooner this garage and box arrives the better.....for my sanity.
I work on classic's as a hobby along with aircraft but also work on my own cars which being metric is a rate pain as it means having both metric and imperial tools. Im still working on the metric spanner collection though.

How are all these tools in the last few pages so clean? You guys must be working on some pretty clean/new cars.
I get a new tool and in 30mins the handle looks like I dipped it in a bucket of tar.

Some of us are a little OCD[some more than others], and it really isn't that difficult. I use to be pretty crazy about wiping everything down every single day. I still do for the most part, and then once a week or every couple weeks I'll take some WD40 and a rag and just touch everything up. It's just discipline. I like having everything in it's place, and visible. I used to be messy before I joined the service, so that's probably where I got it from. Doing clean work (electrical, finish work, interior work) and grabbing a dirty tool and then spreading that filth all over whatever you don't want to be dirty, is annoying.

Dirty tools do not go back into a clean box, couple sprays on a rag of degreaser and they get wiped down before going into the box, box gets wiped down every day, and a good waxing once a month, thing has to last me 40 more years as well as my tools
I hear you. I think I may have to have a change of heart when it comes to clean tools. Perhaps a Halloween resolution is in order...

No kidding, I'm somewhat limited in my shop space so I have to do fabrication work in close proximity to my tool chests. With grinding, cutting, welding, etc my chests look like ****.

Me too, we're in a 24 hour trailer repair shop, I have to wipe mine down or my green box would be black, some guys don't care, but I've invested a lot of money into my box and tools and they will need to last the next hopefully 40 years for me

I came out of the military and aircraft manufacturing world where after every job that was completed the tools were scrubbed clean and kept that way. Now that I am retired I still keep all my tools spotless, it is much easier to see damage to a tool when it is clean and get it warrantied.
My old professional set was Bonney and since they went out of the tool business in the mid 1990's. when I had a damaged tool I would hit the pawn shops and find a decent dirty set of Mac, Matco, Snap-on set on the cheap. I scrub them down and get them spotless and take the replacement tools to work.

My stuff looks used for sure. I wipe most everything down, but use wears on the finish / dings up soft handle and all that. Boxes get cleaned up occasionally, but it may be a good while between cleanings. Work in teh shop is usually running non-stop all day for days on end with barely time to be sure nothing is lost, let alone time for any in depth cleaning. I've never waxed a box....though I might do better with my current set up since it really should be my last!

Looking to get a new toolbox, but trying to decide if I want to sell my old ones before I buy new ones, the setup on the right was my first box, Waterloo top and craftsman bottom, Waterloo is an 84 and the craftsman is mid to late 80s, the stamp was unreadable, I need to expand and I'm trying to figure out the price I'd want for these, I think 350$ for the right set and 100$ for the left, being two bottoms, the top is a cheap newer craftsman and the bottom is an early 90's
Should I sell them or keep them and just buy a new one and avoid the hassle of selling

The top box on the right is cool. I love top boxes with a whisky drawer.

Sorry, just saw the second part of your question. Long story short, I've had a ton of carts, from the typical carts similar to the red harbor freight cart, to ones I've built, to full on toolboxes. With the regular carts, I'm terrible about filling the tops and open section of the bottom with ****, and the drawers really weren't big enough for what I needed. I cobbled together a cart, and it worked ok for a while, I had a 4" vise on it, but the cart and the vise just weren't big enough. I stepped up to a 42" box and 5" vise, but ended up with it crammed so full that it was difficult to move around. Vise was still too small. So I decided to end it all and buy the pit box and 7 1/2" vise. I have the room in my shop for it, it'll save me time, more storage so I don't have to spend more money on a bigger main box for the time being. Plus it's pretty bad ***
