It's imgur... - I guess if they can't spell it, we can't expect them to be too good at it.

Better to upload to GJ and let them host the pics here BP...

Hello, Does anyone know if any of the " other brand aka cheaper" blue tool boxes match snap on Royal blue? I have a royal blue 54 inch Snap on coming and I have a royal blue roller card. All of this is going to go under a custom bunch I'm building. I need another box but cant afford another snap on. This box is going to hold odd ball stuff, nothing super heavy.

Thanks

Trying out Flickr to embed my photos. Nothing special, just my home tool box. Most of the mechanical work I do is on my Moto Guzzi, and that doesn't require a lot of things. I'm too ashamed to share my tools and work area at work, maybe one day NEXT year (just buying myself time to clean up).

Every toolbox in the wild has one of these drawers, I don't remember seeing one in this thread.

Personally, my main box doesn't have one, I have a whole 26" roller where there is some (not as much as I'd like) organization.

I've seen a lot of boxes with one or more junk drawers I can't say I've ever devoted a drawer in my tool boxes for that.

I DID devote about 1/2 of a floor chest with drawers to (sorted by size and thread) fasteners and supplies and it still is that. but that was a dedicated setup for that...

I've left it out before when posting pictures, but figured what the hell, I may as well post all the drawers.

I can't say I planned on having an entire drawer devoted to random hardware and junk, it just kind of worked out that way. I doubt I'd toss it all to put more tools in that drawer though. The save-my-*** factor is far more useful than the small increase in storage.

Did some black friday shopping and finally got the box put in its spot. For $650 i can't really complain about it, but once i get myself a bigger shop in the next couple years this box will be replaced with a 72"x24" of much better quality. And for future reference, ask if you're Harbor Freight has a forklift to load heavy items....

Thank you Lowes for having a sale. A few weeks ago I put one of their inexpensive lowers in my grinding room to replace a 2x4 table. Yesterday I just put another one beside it. With a plywood top, it makes a perfect area for cleaning up handplanes and old saws.

The old 2 drawer box I got for $25. No idea the make. Just use it to store some stuff so I don't have to go back and forth between garages. Debating on what to do with the tray, I like having it but it takes up a bunch of space.
No idea who makes it, but I'd love to find one just like it. Nice portable box.

I know it depends on the individual circumstances.
I used to let that stuff build up in my box till I realized it was getting out of hand. These days, I have some assorted "junk" looking drawers space , but it's mostly either electrical or related to hydraulics. Generic nuts / bolts /hardware get stored in shop space, not my box. But, I know I'm lucky to have control over the shop / what gets kept around.

This is my home garage setup. Just added the 44 and a side locker, since I was running out of storage.

How does that work for you with the sockets on a rack but laying down? Much hassle to deal with? Curious since I'm now in that position where I want to use a shallow drawer for sockets.

No hassle for me. My setup is fairly streamlined, so I pull out the rail I need with the ratchet.

My work setup is the same, socket rails, with matching wrenches in a holder or roll along with 4 self adjusting pliers and 4 adjustable wrenches. The only decision then is metric or imperial.

I do that for my sockets and it works really well. I have a couple vidmar cabinets as a tool box with a bunch of shallow drawers. I separate each drive size into its own drawers and it's really easy to find anything I want.

Been doing that for years. Just put the size facing up on all the sockets.
Originally only did this with deep well sockets, but it worked good.
Usually don't take the whole rail out, unless I need/don't know what sockets I need.

Tormek in a drawer. That makes a lot of sense. You don't use the Tormek every day, so it is nice to have a place to stash it until you need it.

I made a top a few weeks ago and coated it with some automotive sound deadener/sealer. Turned out nice.

I finally got my snap on 3 row socket organizers so I spent some time rearranging the top drawer. Still not 100% how I want it but getting there.

What up Matt? Looking sharp. Rearranged the drawers back huh? Did you paint the trim black too?
