That Lisle panel popper is one of the most versatile tools in any toolbox. I use it for virtually all my light duty prying needs, especially popping wiring harness holders, retaining clips, and prying hoses off *******.

I have a lot of the same tools as you (Snap ring pliers, pry bars, non-mar scrapers), and let me tell you, they can make money just as well as the high dollar stuff. According to my records I spent approximately $1200 last year in tools; if I bought off the trucks, it's easily be four times that. And yet, somehow, the "lesser" tools still work and work well.

One suggestion: get an electric screwdriver or impact driver with a ton of bit inserts. Don't spend money on plain screwdrivers when a little screwgun will easily replace them all for virtually every screwdriving task. My little Black and Decker 4.7v one of my favorite tools, simply for the amount of time it saves.

Craftsman or Waterloo?

Bingo: Waterloo.....with 33.00 worth of snap on logos, my scam exposed !

I think that this might be the same box WL supplied for sears.

I bought this thing in 1992 all 3 pieces for 850.00 new. It has friction drawer slides and believe it or not held up to 18 yrs of tough commercial use and still in decent shape.

I circled the parts below that are identical to my Craftsman, made by Waterloo box. Now lets get your "Snap On" on craig's list for $2,000.

Damn there are some REALLY Awesome toolbox setups on here..WAY more high dollar boxes than I ever thought there would have been.

I've got a new box on order, as I've outgrown my KRA4813 (good starter box) and junky other small boxes ( craftsman, etc etc) I can no longer fit all my tools in there!! Actually my hand tools all fit, they are not as organized as I would like, but the bigger things, like the timing Lights, Cordless Tools, Air Tools, basically anything that comes in its own case, wont fit!

Its a really Crummy photo...but

Now I gotta move everything out of there since I am in the middle of buying a new house w/ shop.. I'll get better pics Friday or saturday..

His is my toolbox, it's two stanley top boxes and two old ex water corp truck boxes bolted below, with casters bolted on, goes okay - i can't really roll it around the shed as the shed is too full of stuff. I have plans for a nice roller box in the future as I have piles of other tools and bits and pieces floating around the shed. i wont show my tool drawers as most of them are chinese stuff and the occasional sidchrome/ kingchrome or old european tool. Nearly all of the tools you get in aus are made in china or asia only snapon which you don't see much of, is made in the states.

Careful examination of your tool box reveals there's probably nothing you can't do, and your way ahead of me as far as wasting a lot of money.

I believe Stewart thinks there is nothing that you can't do with the tools and gear that you have and that you have spent more money than he has...

Mind you I could be wrong, I don't translate "Yankee" too well.......:)

By the way, the last time I was "down under" I met a lot of strange people but I think true "rednecks" reside in the South Eastern US....

We have an illegal immigration problem and they are breeders, why not they get everything free, I shouldn't say free, the taxpayer unwillingly foots the bill.

Look up the size and population of India and China.

Georgia Hybrid - thanks for bailing me out.

Tylerae40 - Don't be so sensative, Georgia Hybrid translated my yankee quite accurately!

I'm not wealthy, but I can afford most any tool I need as I need them. Somedays I look at my garages, sheds, and basements and say "Man, I'm sick and tired of getting one tool and having three fall on me. I just have too much ****." As I am older now I miss the days before the welders, torches, 20 ton press, lathes etc. I think of all the money I spent, how I'll be dead soon and the wife'll let it all go in some garage sale for 5 cents on the dollar (hey maybe one of you will make out).

I got the 20 ton press as a gift from my wife because she overheard me piss'n and moaning one day as I was changing bearings on a diff carrier. I've had it over 12 years now and I've used it 3 times. I got so good at working with the vise, anvil, punches, home made pullers and a nice assortment of hammers that I never use it. I am going through this phase were even though I've got everthing I'm doing things like I did back in my minibike days. It's rewarding!

it's cool mate i'm just a grumpy ******, I can definatly understand where your coming from. Most of my commonly used tools are my welder, grinders, oxy and hammers. I could certainly do with a lathe and or a mill but i wouldn't use them much. As a old mechanic told me "Lathes are great for making washers and resting tools on". I spend more time making scrapmetal sculptures, gates, rust repairs and tearing down cars than i do, doing precise engine work or making car manifolds and stuff. So i don't need fancy tools. Although, a shiny toolbox and tools would be nice.
