More drawers. Some of these had new tools added and need to be organized

Thanks. Any recommendations on a wrench rail or a pliers rack?

Ernst. Made in the USA and inexpensive.

Nice setup Mike! The cranberry color is cool and not as common. Why so many duplicates... like prybar sets, screwdriver sets, etc? I have multiples but they are spread out at different locations.

Thank you. The cranberry is my favorite. Top and locker had to be special ordered when they discontinued it for a short time.

Some things are new and replacing some older tools that will make their way either home or in a future cart. But I also am a Lead/master tech. Sometimes I’m working on multiple cars and I dont have time to have a broken or lost tools. It’s easier to just have a duplicate. For example sometimes I’ll have 8 ratchets on a job with different sockets on each.

Laser Tools made them first, I have a Olsa clone that was before Gearwrench got the design and then later needed another so I also have a Gearwrench one. I love them for my hammers. I don't use them for pliers though. I use the Ernst ones for pliers. If you have larger tools that don't fit in the Ernst version then these would be great, I will say the plastic dividers feel like they could snap but I have not broken a single one.

I now have another on the other side because I've bought so many trusty-cook hammers now I needed more organization.

I did some reorganizing,

I would lie to figure something out to store the extensions with a smaller footprint...

I’m currently 3D printing some extension organizers that should help save a lot of space and they are magnetic. If you have a buddy with a 3D printer I’d be happy to share the files with you.

I assume that is a KRL1033. What is in the wench drawer, if your wrenches are NOT in it?

Wenches are chained up in the basement!! Lol!!

Yes, a KRL1033 and I love it!! I bought the box barely used for 4 grand from my Snap On Bud... I paid close to retail for the lockers and stainless top, and got the Hutch free in the deal..

OCD,

For the extensions have you considered standing up the shorter ones on a socket organizers? Works in mine well but still working a suitable solution for longer ones.

Today I put in service my buddy John's Tool Box. John passed away in December 2005 and his Widow gave me this box. It had been in the Garage attached to the house since then doing nothing.

For the last 6 month I had been surfing CL and FB Market Place looking for a Mac Box and did see anything I like. This morning I was out in the Garage and had a thought...After a couple of hours of clean up it is as good as new.

Will make a nice work station for the Water Jet. Need to order new Drawer Liners and a Lock.

What is the reason for a water jet over a laser? I looked into purchasing a multi-head water jet and starting a small business around it, but after talking to several people about it, I determined a laser or CNC plasma would be a easier machine to maintain and cheaper to operate.

I am going to attempt to move this to my Thread as not to detract from the Tool Boxes...hope you don't mind.

And it can be used as a resource later for others:

the 1033 has two full width top drawers. Most commonly used tools are usually kept in the top two drawers. Common layout is sockets/ratchets in the top drawer and wrench in the next drawer.

Since you have your wrenches buried in the bottom of the tool chest, what do you have in the drawer that is supposed to have wrenches (the 2nd full width drawer)? Its not like I haven't asked six times now.....

I have recently took a shine to Cornwell tools and had enquired about the price of importing a small roll cab to the UK, but didn’t like the price. I was amazed to see this box on E Bay as I didn’t know any had come over the Atlantic so I snapped it up for a fraction of the price of a Snap On or Mac equivalent. I don’t think many people here know of Cornwell.
I don’t know if it should be in this vintage category as I have no idea how old it is. I am guessing 80s or 90s. Also has anyone any clues as to how it got here. I wondered if the US armed forces either used them or a serviceman could have brought it over. I bought it from a fellow farmer who didn’t seem to know where the previous owner had got it.
Anyway apart from the odd war wound to the paint I am really pleased. The roller drawer slides run great after a clean and lube. All I need is more tools to fill it.

I sold two smaller tool carts to make room for a 2nd 44 inch box! I'm really liking the extra space. I wasn't liking the tool carts with the gas shock lids, I would rather have counter space.

I'm sure some people couldn't tell you that these were not real snappy...

Custom made cover came in. Built to my specs, has magnets and even holes for cords and handle. Couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

I wouldn't be caught dead with a Harbor Freight box.:bounce: That said I am very happy with the construction and sliders of these new orange boxes. It's also very nice having a large countertop to work on. Here are some more pictures.

The badges I got off ebay for about 35 dollars. And stickers were 5 bucks or so. Call me crazy but it makes me feel good considering I don't want to pay for the real thing.

Where did you get the socket holders from CafeTools?

I have two separate socket trays. One is a lock a socket, the other is a Craftsman tray. Both work fantastic. Each have their own benefit, thelock a socket tray is much better quality and heavier but the Craftsman tray is more economical and slightly more compact and efficient

I know what you mean. Since I put Mercedes badges on my Nissan, the woman have been out of control.

Why not just be proud of what you have? Nothing wrong with it.

then why did you not only buy one, but two? That embarrassed, that you had to put fake decals on it?

I'll call you crazy. changing the badge doesn't change anything. Anyone who's ever had a snap on box knows within one second of looking at it, that it isn't a snap on box. So who are you really trying to fool, yourself, or all your buddies?

There is nothing wrong with them. They look and function well, but they aren't snap ons. I guess its ok, since we live in such a fake society anymore.

CafeTools, if this makes you feel better and you like it - this is great. Nobody is here to judge you. You are doing it for yourself, not for anybody else! It’s not like you are doing it to resell it.

It’s like a girl with makeup. Even if we saw her without and she is just OK, we only say great when she looks great with some extras. We do not come to her and tell her that we know what she looked like without.

The whole world is doing it. Some of the good and expensive clothing firms which used to be great now produce **** often made in 3D world country, put the same badge on it and sell it (and we soon discover that it’s falling apart within a month despite costing a lot). They are scamming us and this is what we should point out...

Yes I was being sarcastic about my harbor freight comment. I like the company. I just thought it would be neat/ funny to rename the boxes for cosmetic purposes. It's like owning a fake rolex, to each his own.
