Let's See Your Vernier Calipers and Micrometers

Was just out in the shop, so snapped a pic of my Scherr Tumico 0-6" mic set, with stds. and adj wrench, in a wood case. Paid considerably less than Uncle Sam did for these. Don't use them often, but when you need them, you need them. Most of the time, my Mitutoyo digital caliper is accurate enough for what I'm doing. Also shown is a very large (barrel is 2" dia., more than 6" long) 2" travel Starrett mic head, with a vernier that reads to .0001. Anybody got a use for this mic head?

Old thread, but wanted to show this Etalon micometer.

I bought it used recently, it's in a good condition.
There was no box, so started to make one.
Would like to clean and lube the thread but not sure how to open this one.
I know regular micrometers can be unscrewed to expose the thread, but that doesn't work on this one. It has a end stop.
Appreciate any tips on how to open.

A bit of a poor picture but you can see the rule on the X-axis of my mill and there is an adjustable vernier that you can use to set zero then move the table and the vernier could measure to the nearest thousands. It has now been replaced with the DRO.

It has been my experience that you don't want to disassemble the mechanical digital micrometers unless you are a watchmaker,lol. The threads shouldn't need cleaned if you can't even get it open.
