I have a Miller CST 280, Miller 180SD syncro, and a Miller 302 Trailblazer .I made a cart for the Trailblazer to keep in garage for emergency generator use. Then made a trailer that the 302 will set on with cart attached. Works great for
for working on my farm equipment. Will be getting the Miller 211 shortly.

Here is my main welder, a Lincoln Power MIG 255, and my Northern badged 40a plasma torch:

NewTongue5_zpsc8e9a998.jpg

I also have a couple other MIG machines, a 120v Lincoln Pro MIG 140 and a 240v Clarke 180en. My TIG/stick machine is a Lincoln Invertec V250-s, and I have a few oxy/acetylene sets.

I have both the Lincoln MIGs set up with 75/25 shield gas, with the 140 running .023 solid wire and the 255 running .045" stuff. The Clarke is set up as flux core machine, with .035 shielded wire. It will run solid wire with gas, but I wanted a wire feed machine set up with flux core.

So far, I've been very impressed. I picked it up for around $400 a year or so ago, and can't believe I waited as long as I did to buy one. I've used it for several projects, and haven't had any issues. The last project I used it on was cutting some expanded metal, and it really shined.

One thing I have found, buy consumables off eBay...they're considerably cheaper there than anywhere else!

I have some newer small mig machines, but the one I have that my grandpa bought used in the 60's is my favorite. It probably already had lived a full life when he bought it and it still works quite well, or it seems to when he comes by to use it.

I did stick some new leeds on it and put a new plug on it because I have an aversion to electrocution.

Here is the 175+ and Cutmaster 81 before I finished the cart.

I was sitting around doing a little welding. A 300A stinger works best.

That old stick machine is bad ***! I would like to buy something like that off CL and restore it. Looks fun.

My Miller 210 and awesome HF helmet! Actually thinking about selling this one and buying a Miller 211 just for the ability to use 110v. This one is just a little overkill for my diy projects!

You can still buy these old guys at auctions. Bought this one for $400 It is a Lincoln Idealarc TIG-300/300. I am guessing around the early 80's. I use to repair Injection Molds, the settings goes down to around 3 amps where I can put a little dot of weld on a wore out corner in Mold Steels. Really saves on repair work. Then I can crank it up and weld 1/2 aluminum plate. I had a newer Hobart 250 but it just did not go low enough. I am stuck on TIG's and never wanted a wire machine. Being able to weld just about anything as long as you have the right filler rod's makes these welders appealing to me.

2 things,,, loranger, yes you could save a little space with a compact over the 210 but you already own it and itis a really good machine, actually has a fan club.

KMScottt, you need to take a spin around a 210 like above for general repair work, in short order would drop that tig like a hot rock. This is what they call,,,contempt prior to investigation to some extent,,, not biggoted but wire feed is a workhorse for general work, sure there are things a tig does better but the other 98% of it is so much faster cheaper with a feeder.

I got one, dont use it, the thing is a cart for machines I do use. You couldnt even live long enough to repeat the 1000's of welds with tig that ittle red machine has made,,, hahahahahaha

Sberry, I see the Syncrowave hiding, remember most weld shops are building stuff, I have a machine shop and most if not all my welding is on non ferrous or tool steel. I can not imagine doing a dab on a piece of tool steel let alone having all the different type of spools holding A-2, S-7, H-13, Inconel Hastelloy X or all the other filler rods I use. Last week I added some alum-bronze to the top of a pad for a wear plate,I do not think I can do that with a wire machine. If I was building steel tubing frames and repairing farm equipment then yes I would but a wire machine. I like your shop.

No, I'm good. Got no puppy and I put the cart together with American 1/4" bolts. :bounce:

<whew>

but using real 'merican bolts in your HF cart will probably stress the recycled beer cans that it's made of to the point of catastrophic failure..

:lol_hitti

ok not really :bounce:

i have one of those carts i bought several years ago, it hasnt fallen apart and killed my dog either...

Sorry about the blurry pic. My hello kitty camera isn't very good.
This is what I have at the moment. Someone decided they needed my Miller 211 more than and and kicked down my door to take it.
Hmmm.... I wonder why they didn't walk away with the 200+lbs of old stick welders? Or the wonderous HF/PA wire feed welder?

I have a MM210, been thinking about getting a HH140 loaded up with .024 for autobody sheet metal.

I have to stop reading this forum. I'm all on board with having several of something, so I can just keep working and not change tooling. I am steadily building my selection of 4.5" electric grinders and pneumatic grinders, until I have one for every type of disk and burr I commonly use. I like to have 3 or 4 drills out on any given project, all set up for a different part of the process, so I don't have to stop and change drill bits during fabrication.

NOW, I find out I may someday want to have not just one of each type of welder (which kinda makes sense), but possibly want more of a specific type of welder, to keep them set up for different sorts of welds.

I really have to stop reading this forum.
