Been thinking aboout getting a new compressor. I've been using a 6 cfm Husky H1820F oil free upright compressor with 20 gal. tank for almost 5 years and it has done everything I've asked it to do. It's still in great condition.

It'll operate my air tools, blast cabinet, J&S jack and my Kendon motorcycle lift with ease. The only complaint I've ever had is that it's so damn noisy! Am I crazy for wanting to change? What are you guys using?

Short answer, yes...you are crazy. :eyecrazy:

Another member here said it best when describing the noise level of an oil-less compressor. "Go to your neighbors yard, dig a hole 6 feet deep, toss in the compressor, cover it up, go back home, shut all the doors and windows in your house...and you can STILL HEAR IT RUNNING!!!! :yikes:

Seriously, it will make your ears bleed. You can tell yourself that you won;t use it that often so it won't matter, but you'd be wrong. Assuming you can afford a better compressor, I don't think anyone here would actually recommend an oil-less model.

FYI, I have a 60-gallon Husky model using a Solberg silencer.
