I need a recommendation on the best soft scrapers for aviation use available, I use them daily at work, and the ones we have are consumables but they're garbage.

Are there any out there that are a notch above the rest and last?

I like to make my own
Good paint paddles and a bench grinder.
I get the wood smoking hot while grinding so it tempers it.
this is as cheap as it gets if you go to HD and get the free ones.
When doing stuff like graphics removal I use a tool called a lil chizler

Ive been thinking about combining a soft scraper and my multitool

I always used 1/4" lexan. 5 minutes with the table saw yields enough scrapers for the whole shop for a year.

The phenolic recommendation is also good, although some of it de-laminates. Again, most of that is just scrap sheet across the table saw.

What's the best way you have found to shape or add a handle?

I suppose cut it out of the shape...just like a plastic putty knife design...???

Any other awesome ideas?

EDIT: wood closet rod slit partway down the center to accept the lexan, with 2 holes drilled in it for *** bolts. They would be re-useable as well.

Bingo!

I just made a putty knife profile with a 45 degree bevel.

Yeah, we have all kinds of phenolic in my hangar, but I dont want to take the time to shape and sharpen scrapers, haha. You have to cut and grind it outside because of the dust.

I ended up ordering a Bojo set, holy ****! They have all kinds of sealant tools. Also ordered the sealant smoothing kit, looks rather nifty. My KTC composite pry bar set came in today, very rigid. Looking forward to using them soon.
